Kaede Azusagawa

is one of the main characters of Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai. She is the younger sister of Sakuta Azusagawa who suffered amnesia and gained a different personality after her ordeal with Adolescence Syndrome stemming from online bullying. Since then, she has lived with Sakuta and has not attended school.

Apariencia Kaede is a young girl of fair complexion, slim build and medium height, measuring 1.62 cm. Her hair is brown which ends below her shoulders, her eyes are the same color as her hair, sharing similar characteristics to those of her older brother Sakuta. Her hairstyle consists of a straight fringe that partially covers her forehead, she also adorns the thin locks on the sides of her head with small pink bows tied at the end of it, finally, she lightly fastens her hair with a pink garter at the end. Throughout the series she has been seen in various outfits, the main one being a sort of one-piece panda pajama pajamas. The latter is mainly due to her insecurity and paranoia as a result of her puberty syndrome. When away from home, Kaede wears fashionable clothes and attire usually worn by girls her age. Upon returning to school, she set out to wear her school uniform consisting of a long-sleeved button-up shirt, red bow, over is; a blue sweater, a red striped pleated skirt, white socks and brown shoes.

Personality Pre-amnesia Kaede originally had a kind yet cheeky personality which gave her little difficulty with social interaction. She regains this personality after completing her list of goals.

Post-amnesia Since Kaede lost her memories and gained a new personality as a result of Puberty Syndrome, she locked herself away from the Internet and the outside world in general and developed a phobia of strangers, as demonstrated when she first met Mai Sakurajima. Kaede tended to refer to herself in the third person. Kaede develops a liking for pandas after watching them on a DVD that Sakuta bought for her, and as a result, wears a panda onesie at home. Kaede also tends to refer to herself in third person, although she distinguishes between herself and the "other" Kaede, who she calls "Kaede-san". After seeing several girls visit her and her brother's home, Kaede becomes inspired to start leaving home herself, writing out a list of goals to accomplish with Sakuta. As stated in her diary entries, she also does this having long accepted that she is a placeholder for Kaede-san and will be superseded when Kaede-san gets her memories back.

Biography At some point during Kaede's time in high school, she was the victim of online bullying and death threats. As a result of Puberty Syndrome, this caused her several physical injuries and she was only able to recover after she stopped using social media and going to school. Unfortunately, she had also developed amnesia as a way to separate herself from her experience of being bullied, which led her mother (also forcing her father) to abandon her with her brother Sakuta. Since then, she lived and behaved differently before her ordeal with Puberty Syndrome. As a result, she developed a phobia of strangers and spent most of her time at home.
