Diego Márquez

He is an Animal Rescuer who does his best to help animals that are in trouble and save and protect the rainforest. He is always ready no matter what the circumstance is. Whether he's helping a friend in the rain forest or at the Animal Rescue Center, there is no animal too small and no rescue too big for Diego.

Description

Diego is an 8-year-old Latino action-adventure hero with a big heart. He love his two girls, his cousin Dora, and his sister Alicia. His goal is to save and protect the animals and their environment. Athletic and fearless, he is always at the ready no matter what the situation. Diego loves learning new things. He takes a scientific approach to problem solving and also uses a variety of high-tech gadgets and gizmos to save the day.

Looks

Diego has tan skin, brown eyes, and dark brown hair. Starting with Season 4, he wears a short-sleeved red sweatshirt with an orange top underneath, black cargos, white socks, and black and red sneakers. He also wears Rescue Pack on the front and back of his chest.

Family

He is the only son of Senor and Senora Marquez and is Alicia and Daisy's younger brother. He is Dora, Guillermo and Isabella's older cousin and the nephew of Dora's parents. He shares the same grandmother as Dora. Rescue tools

Rescue tool

Field Journal

The Field Journal is one of Diego's tools. It's a portable computerized data bank filled with useful information. He can find any fact about animals, plants, and environments.

Video Watch

The Video Watch allows him to get information from Alicia back at the Animal Rescue Center, or connect and communicate with other Animal Rescuers.

Spotting Scope

The Spotting Scope helps Diego to spot animals and locations from a distance.

Rescue Truck

Diego can drive. He would sometimes drive to the rescue in a 4x4 rugged Rescue Truck, to help animals that are in trouble. The Rescue Truck also has a Rescue Tow Cable and Hook.

Animal Snack Pack

If Diego is traveling with an animal to carry it back home, he would sometimes carry the Animal Snack Pack in case if the animal gets hungry.

Rescue Flashlight / Glowstick

Diego sometimes goes into dark places, like a tunnel. He can use the Rescue Flashlight or a glowstick to help him get out of the dark place.

Binoculars

The binoculars helps Diego to see clearly in dark or foggy places

Scuba Gear

Diego uses this type of gear whenever he is doing an underwater rescue.

Sticky Gloves

These adhesive-type gloves help Diego to climb very tall places.

Appearances

Diego appears in every episode of Go, Diego, Go! as well as several episodes of Dora the Explorer. He had a major role in every episode except for "Alicia Saves The Crocodile" and "Alicia and Whitetail to the Rescue". His first appearance in general was the Dora the Explorer episode "Meet Diego!".

He also appeared in the Dora and Friends episode "For the Birds" and the 2019 live-action film Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
