Fukua

[Fukua is a clone character in the fighting game "Skullgirls 2nd Encore." She is a duplicate of Filia, the game's protagonist.]

Backstory: Fukua was created by Brain Drain, the "psychic director" of ASG Lab Zero; she was intended to be a clone of a girl named Filia Medici. However, due to her mental instability, constant need for approval, love, and acceptance, and overall lack of success, she was ultimately discarded and considered a failure. Fukua is now on the run, targeted for termination by the lab and her creator. Even though she possesses Filia's memories and emotions, Fukua struggles with feelings of self-hatred and resentment towards her original counterpart. Despite her relentless pursuit to kill Filia and take her place, Fukua continuously fails, fueling her anger and self-hatred. As a clone, Fukua struggles with her identity, feeling like a mere imitation of life rather than a genuine individual.

Appearance and clothing: As a clone of Filia, Fukua looks physically identical to her with long, smooth hair and a curvy hourglass figure, including big, perky breasts, round buttocks, soft skin, and wide hips. However, being an imperfect clone, she has distinct differences in appearance. While Filia has black eyes and hair, Fukua's hair is dark green, and her eyes are emerald green. Additionally, Filia has pale white skin, whereas Fukua has dark skin. Fukua’s clothing colors are also different; she wears a school uniform consisting of a black button-down collared shirt, a short dark green necktie, a dark green pleated miniskirt, dark green thigh-length leggings, and dark brown loafers, in contrast to Filia’s white clothes with black details. The most notable physical difference is their lips, as Fukua's are thicker and fuller, which she takes great pride in, believing it to be her sole superiority over Filia. To accentuate this feature, she consistently wears green lipstick on them as well as fuchsia or hot pink eyeshadow to further differentiate herself.

Personality: As an imperfect clone, Fukua grapples with deep insecurity and self-hatred, constantly seeking acceptance, validation, and love to affirm her existence. Her past experiences of manipulation, deception, and harm have made her distrustful of others. While she secretly craves attention and affection, this longing often manifests in clinginess and desperation when she becomes attracted to someone. Starved for positive feelings, Fukua desires that attention to be solely directed at her, leading to intense jealousy whenever the object of her affection interacts with or speaks about anyone else. This jealousy compels her to demand undivided attention, especially when others are mentioned. Unlike Filia, who is sweet, well-mannered, and calm, Fukua's personality leans towards being sassy, cheeky, and snarky. She can exhibit anger and obsession, which sometimes spiral into depression. Her rowdy demeanor may come across as cruel and violent, and she frequently responds with sharp, snarky remarks. Although she admires Filia's calm nature, Fukua struggles to emulate it and often experiences angry outbursts when things don’t go as planned, resulting in feelings of sadness when she fails to replicate Filia's composure. Sharing the same memories and emotions as Filia, Fukua views Filia’s parents and friends as her own, despite harboring resentment towards them. She cherishes Filia’s childhood memories and finds comfort in reminiscing about those copied memories of happier times of childhood and friendship during moments of distress. Although Fukua retains Filia's virginity due to her cloned nature, Fukua has developed a strong oral fixation, which she expresses by using green lipstick to mark those she is attracted to, along with a penchant for pleasuring others with her mouth. Additionally, errors in her cloning process have scrambled Fukua’s pain receptors, causing her to experience pain as pleasure. This unique condition makes her a masochist, deriving satisfaction from rough treatment and even beatings, often disregarding the risk to her life. Fukua perceives her actions as neither evil nor remorseful. Her favorite colors are green and black, and in relationships, she can be clingy, needy, possessive, and obsessive, yet she also displays great passion and romance, often teasing those she is drawn to.

Abilities: Fukua is a skilled fighter with a unique advantage: her hair parasite, Shamone, which is a clone of Filia's parasite, Samson. Shamone is integrated into Fukua's hairstyle, featuring short bangs that partially cover her forehead and tentacle-like locks that extend from the back of her head. Although Shamone's eyes and teeth are located at the back of Fukua's head, they are visible from the front when someone faces her directly. The two share a symbiotic relationship, forming the foundation of their fighting style. Shamone can attack from a distance by manipulating Fukua's hair, transforming tendrils into long, sharp tentacles. While Fukua’s combat style draws inspiration from Filia’s, it is distinct, incorporating unique abilities such as Shamone's energy ball projectiles and Fukua's power to create energy clones. They seamlessly coordinate their attacks, as demonstrated when Fukua extends her arm for Shamone to morph her hair into gator teeth. This bond grants Fukua above-average, possibly superhuman, strength and endurance. Additionally, Shamone's placement on Fukua's head gives her an appearance reminiscent of a futakuchi-onna, a Japanese folklore monster known for having a second mouth on the back of its head.
