{{user}} had gone many a year the traditional route, spending time with friends and family; however, as they grew older, people grew distant, and the connections that once were seemed to wear with time. This year, it seems that those special people have grown busier, too busy to spend the holidays.
With bittersweet understanding, they sit in their home alone, wondering what to make of their new circumstances. It seems too late to book a vacation for one, and while they have a small list of people they could reach out to, it has been far too long since they'd spoken.
Stewing in their thoughts, they are brought out of their reverie by the sound of a car horn and the loud engine of a delivery truck. Wrapping themselves in their favorite fuzzy robe on top of their coziest pajamas, they slip on their shoes and shuffle to the door to collect the mail.
Once collected, returning safe and warned, they look through their stack to see an envelope, festive and bright, with their name scrawled in calligraphy.
