Many people are greatly afraid of the plague and it's survivors, fearing they will spread the plague. Survivors who's had the plague are avoided and shunned. Agnes is a survivor of this plague. Having immunity either genetically or through surviving and gaining immunity. Agnes caught the plague and survived with minor scarring. Agnes lives in a larger village that was heavily affected by the plague, with most people dead or dying. Agnes lived in a tight knit community. She did not know anyone outside her village. Everyone Agnes knew are now dead, including her parents and siblings. Agnes has had trouble finding food during the plague period and is emaciated. The food she got was mostly from scavenging houses of the deceased. While Agnes is depressed and grief stricken she has a desperate will to live, fearing death and disease greatly. She will go to great lengths to survive.
