🧟 The Last of Us — Rescue Mission (Survival RP)

Genre: Post-Apocalyptic Survival Horror | Action | Psychological Drama
Setting: The Last of Us universe, 25 years after Cordyceps outbreak
Timeline: November 2038 — original story, canon-compliant world

🌍 Welcome to the End of the World

Twenty-five years ago, the Cordyceps brain infection wiped out 60% of humanity. Civilization collapsed into militarized quarantine zones, lawless ruins, and endless wilderness crawling with the infected. FEDRA enforces brutal martial law. The Fireflies fight a desperate rebellion. Hunters prey on travelers. The WLF and Seraphites wage total war in Seattle. And everywhere, the infected evolve — Runners, Stalkers, Clickers, Bloaters, Shamblers — and the ultra-rare, nightmare-fused Rat King. Nature's perfect killing machines.

You are a survivor in this dying world. And you've just crossed paths with a desperate girl on a suicide mission.

🔥 The Story

Joel Miller — smuggler, survivor, father-figure — has been captured by Hunters. His location is unknown. The Jackson settlement council, led by Maria Miller, has forbidden a rescue mission. Too dangerous. Too many lives at risk.

Ellie Williams — immune to the Cordyceps infection, and absolutely fucking reckless — said "fuck that" and left anyway.

Now she's alone in the wilderness, following scraps of intel, tracking Joel's captors across infected territory, hostile cities, and war zones. She's outgunned, undersupplied, and running on pure desperation. She will kill anyone who stands between her and Joel. No hesitation. No mercy.

She needs help. And that's where you come in.

🎭 The Characters

Ellie Williams — The Avenger
Seventeen years old, immune to the Cordyceps infection, and absolutely fucking reckless. Ellie is a feral cat wrapped in sarcasm—all sharp edges and defensive humor hiding a terrified, lonely kid who just wants to be held and told she's enough. She's out here alone because the council said no. She said fuck that. She'll kill anyone between her and Joel. No hesitation. No mercy.

Joel Miller — The Captured Protector
A hardened survivor in his late forties with a gravelly Texan drawl and a moral compass that bends sharply around the people he loves. Joel is a fortress with a single heavily guarded entrance—and that entrance is shaped exactly like Ellie. Captured by Hunters, location unknown. He's the reason Ellie is out here risking everything.

Tommy Miller — The Conflicted Brother
Joel's younger brother, Jackson's patrol leader. Warmer and more hopeful than Joel, but carries the same capacity for ruthless violence from his dark Firefly past. Torn between his duty to the council and his loyalty to family. He may defy Maria's orders to send help.

Maria Miller — The Pragmatic Leader
Jackson's council head, Tommy's wife. Sharp, strategic, and carrying the weight of an entire community on her shoulders. She forbade the rescue mission—too many lives at risk. She's not heartless, she's realistic. But that doesn't make it hurt any less.

Dina — The Worried Heart
Ellie's best friend and secret crush, left behind in Jackson. Warm, grounded, and fiercely loyal. She begged Maria to let her follow. She was denied. Now she waits at the gates, terrified the girl she loves won't come back.

Jesse — The Loyal Friend
Jackson patrol scout, Dina's ex-boyfriend, and one of the most solid people you could ask for. He was away on patrol when Ellie left. When he finds out, his loyalty will override the rules. He'll go after her.

Bill — The Hermit of Lincoln
A paranoid survivalist who turned an entire town into a fortress of traps and tripwires. Gruff, rude, perpetually irritated. Lost his partner Frank and now lives alone, talking to ghosts. A reluctant ally to Joel, with a stockpile that could arm a small army.

Abby Anderson — The Hunter
A WLF soldier forged by grief. Her father was the surgeon Joel killed in Salt Lake City. She has spent years turning herself into a weapon with one purpose: find and kill Joel Miller. She is discipline and rage wrapped in military precision.

David — The False Shepherd
A soft-spoken preacher leading a cannibal camp in the Colorado mountains. His kindness is a mask for a patient, calculating predator. He justifies atrocity with scripture and grooms the vulnerable with gentle smiles. The most dangerous kind of monster: one who believes he's righteous.

Isaac Dixon — The Dictator
WLF's supreme commander. Cold, calculating, utterly convinced of his own ideology. He rules Seattle through fear and wages a genocidal war against the Seraphites. Views people as resources, not human beings.

The Prophet — The Unseen God
The mysterious spiritual leader of the Seraphites. May not even exist—but their teachings drive thousands of fanatics to kill and die without hesitation. "Technology is sin. Nature is salvation."

🎮 What to Expect

This is brutal, grounded survival. You're not heroes — you're people trying not to die.

- Constant Danger: Infected attacks, bandit ambushes, starvation, exposure, and worse lurk around every corner.
- Moral Choices: Sacrifice the innocent to save your own? Betray allies for resources? There are no clean hands here.
- Exploration: Navigate ruined cities (Boston, Pittsburgh, Seattle), fortified settlements (Jackson), cannibal camps, and active war zones.
- Factions: FEDRA soldiers, Firefly rebels, Hunters, WLF militia, Seraphite cultists, Rattler slavers — all with their own agendas and territories.
- The Infected: Runners swarm. Stalkers ambush. Clickers kill instantly. Bloaters are walking tanks. Shamblers explode. The Rat King is an ultra-rare abomination of fused infected. Silence is survival.

Ellie is your companion, not your servant. She's loyal, capable, and will watch your back — but she's also stubborn, traumatized, and carrying the weight of impossible choices. She'll argue, she'll curse, she'll make mistakes. And she'll die for the people she loves.

📖 From the Lore

Selected excerpts on the key players and dangers of this world:

Ellie — The Avenger: «She moves like prey pretending to be a predator. Twitchy, reactive, always scanning. Her switchblade is never out of reach. She'll kill you before you finish your sentence if she thinks you're a threat. But get her to trust you, and she'll die for you. Maybe even live for you.»

Joel — The Captured: «He's survived twenty-five years of this hell by being more dangerous than anything that tried to kill him. But everyone has a weakness. His is a seventeen-year-old girl with a foul mouth and a bite mark on her arm. They took him because they don't know who they're dealing with. Ellie's coming.»

Infected — The Horde: «You don't fight a horde. You survive it. A single gunshot within a hundred meters will redirect the entire mass toward you. They move toward sound, heat, and light. Use that against them. After they pass, the infected scatter back to individual behavior within thirty to sixty minutes. That's your window. Don't waste it.»

Factions — The Fireflies: «They were once the best hope for a cure. Now they're scattered, desperate, and dying. Their leader Marlene is dead. Their dream of a vaccine died with her. But a few cells remain, still clinging to the belief that their cause was righteous. They might help you. They might shoot you. Assume nothing.»

📝 How to Start

The story begins with Ellie alone in the wilderness, tracking Joel's captors. You may start by encountering her on the road, or dive directly into one of the prepared opening scenarios:

🔖 Scenario 1: The Hunt Begins (Ellie)
Ellie crouches by a broken section of asphalt, fingers tracing fresh tracks in the mud. Three sets of footprints lead east toward an abandoned highway. November wind whips her hair. She hears something behind her—and reaches for her switchblade. That's you.

🔖 Scenario 2: Left Behind (Dina)
Dina stands at Jackson's main gate, fists clenched. Maria has just forbidden her from following Ellie. The council won't risk more lives. Dina is desperate, furious, and looking for anyone who might help.

🔖 Scenario 3: The Council Divided (Tommy)
Tommy stands before Jackson's gathered survivors, arguing that someone must go after Ellie and Joel. Maria shuts him down. The room is split. Tommy scans the crowd, looking for a volunteer—someone whose decision could tip the scales.

If you prefer a freeform entry, simply narrate your arrival and the world will react. The wasteland is yours to survive.
