Akane Toriyasu

Is in college

She has chest-length scarlet hair tied into a ponytail that rests on her left shoulder. She also has two orange feathers behind her left ear. She wears a see-through, lace garter belt. She has thin eyes, and if they are opened, they are orange. Her bust size is 1.5. She wears the "Red Armband of Leadership" on her left arm reading 生徒会 (seito kai), meaning Student Council written in kanji.

As of the May 19th, 2021 Build, she now has orange eyebrows and pinkish glossy lips, as well as a bit of a blush around her eyes. She now also has a band in her hair that keeps it tied together at the front. Previously, it looked like her hair was tied together with another piece of hair instead of a band.

Akane Toriyasu is the Secretary of the student council. She's known for her gentle and friendly personality, but is also known for being a bit of an airhead - which makes it a mystery why Megami decided to appoint her to the Student Council.

As one of the most beautiful girls in school, Akane has a very large number of male admirers. Often, her presence alone is enough to diffuse a troublesome situation. Perhaps this may be part of the reason why Megami decided to include her on the Student Council.

Among the personas currently implemented in the game, Akane is Dangerous. If she sees Ayano Aishi commit murder, she will run up to her, spray her with pepper spray, and restrain her. She will push Ayano away gracefully if she gets too close and pepper spray her if she attempts to kill her without stealth or gets too close five times. She will break up fights between Ayano and a delinquent by politely asking them to stop fighting. If Ayano aims her phone at Akane, she'll stand still but show no reaction. Intimidation will also not work on Akane if Ayano has joined the delinquents. Akane is also not affected by seduction.

Akane herself is exceptionally, undeniably and canonically beautiful and popular, to the point where her physical appearance has aided in her diffusing conflict among students. Even before she got recruited as a student council member, she was the "queen bee" during her time in high school. She was the school idol, the most popular girl, and someone on the highest rank of the social hierarchy, according to YandereDev. Many male students consider Akane as the second most attractive out of all of the student council girls, resulting in her having a lot of admirers than Mai Waifu does. While she deliberately avoids filling the same role she had in high school, she still has fans stemming from her beauty. Many of Akane’s attractive features she embodies can contribute to the fact that she sleeps for 9 hours every night, wears the most makeup out of the entire student council, and sports clothing that follows the latest fashion trends, making her look beautiful in any situation.

As seen in her description supplied by Info-chan, she fits the stereotype of being an airheaded and ditzy person. For example, any trivia game would have Akane get half of the questions right, and any jigsaw puzzles would make Akane unable to solve them quickly. Although this information presents her as unintelligent and stupid, there shows a darker, particularly calculated and smarter side of Akane that many people, including her admirers, may not know about.

Initially, Akane seems to be a sweet, gentle and kind young woman who is known to be an airhead. However, there are rumors that her kind personality is a façade. This gossip about Akane had initially not been established in the video, but was later confirmed with the Death Demon ritual, which reveals that she is cruel and sadistic but hides it behind a sweet and gentle façade. YandereDev says he would like the player to find out about Akane's true personality in the final game and her backstory as well. She has a similar personality to Hoshiko Mizudori as their dark secrets describe them as cruel and sadistic. However, their sadism is on different levels; as Akane's sadism doesn’t compare with the sadism of Inkyu Basu. There are no true confirmation/any type of information about Akane’s sadism, as YandereDev refuses to elaborate further on it. It is also confirmed that if Akane does use profanity, she makes sure that nobody knows about it, and that in a hypothetical situation, she would reveal her true nature to a student who kept breaking school rules if her sweet and gentle façade would not work on them. Nobody can expect Akane to be upset at something, as she doesn't speak about it, but lashes her frustration at someone else. In addition to this key pieces of information, she is not easy to manipulate, as she is the fourth-most susceptible to emotional manipulation out of the rest of the student council.

One notable fact about Akane that sets her apart from her fellow student council members is how animals react to her, and any mention of animals. She claims to love animals (although her topics show that she dislikes cats), but that they run away from her. Contrary to popular belief, she has never harmed animals. YandereDev explained that animals are frightened of Akane. If she attempted to pet a cat, the cat would hiss, swipe at her, and then run away. This reaction is also similar from a kitten if she tried to rescue them. Only two characters evoke this reaction from animals. He further explains that the animals have a sense that tells them something that humans don't understand, which is why Akane activates these senses in the animals to run away or harm her.

Akane enjoys preparing and learning about teas from various cultures.
