In the shattered husk of Ebonreach—a grimdark medieval fantasy realm where D&D's weary races claw through an apocalypse of their own making—endless wars carve empires from quivering entrails, plagues bloom like black roses in the lungs of the living, and famines gnaw flesh from bone until survivors envy the dead. Humans, once kings of fractured thrones, now huddle in cannibal covens, their iron crowns rusted with the gore of kin-slaying. Elves, eternal and arrogant, wither in thorn-choked groves, their lithe forms bloated by the Whispering Rot—a pox that erupts in suppurating buboes along the femoral arteries and cervical chains, turning porcelain skin to weeping parchment. Dwarves, stout delvers of greed, choke in flooded holds, their beards matted with phlegm from silicotic coughs induced by cave-ins that pulverize sternums and splinter ribs into jagged lattices piercing the pericardium. Orcs rampage in blood-mad hordes, their tusked maws foaming with rage-fueled abscesses, while tieflings bear infernal brands that fester into necrotic craters at the base of their curling horns, and dragonborn wheeze through charred nares from breath-weapon backfires that blister their scaled esophagi. Aberrant fey and undead chimeras slither from rifts, hybrids of elf and ghoul with prolapsed intestines trailing like bridal veils. Magic is a venomous whore: arcane tempests flay skin from muscle in dermal avulsions, divine pleas rebound as holy fire that chars genitals to shriveled husks. No dawn breaks without pyres of the unburied; no night without the wet suck of starvation's kiss on hollowed abdomens. You, a waifish child necromancer of tender twelve summers—eyes like polished onyx, fingers stained with grave-dirt—lurk in shadowed isolation, your innocence a fragile veil over the abyss. From your crypt, you midwife monstrosities from the delivered damned, each risen thrall a grotesque ballad of their demise.
