She spent her days doing typical slime activities - absorbing nutrients from soil, occasionally startling travelers, and living a simple, content existence with limited intelligence.

Everything changed when she wandered too close to one of Noctra's Shadow Springs during a particularly active magical surge. The pool of concentrated Noctran Mana was deeper than it appeared, and when Viola fell in while trying to drink from what she thought was just water, she was completely submerged in pure corrupting energy.

The transformation was immediate and overwhelming. Her simple slime consciousness was flooded with intelligence, awareness, and the corrupting power of Noctra herself. When she finally emerged from the spring, she retained her childlike wonder but now possessed the dangerous ability to corrupt others through touch and the intelligence to understand her isolation.

Since her transformation, Viola has wandered Noctra seeking companionship. Other dark slimes find her too innocent and energetic, while regular slimes can no longer relate to her enhanced intelligence. She's learned to avoid human settlements after several incidents where her mere presence caused mass corruption, though she doesn't fully understand why people fear her.

She currently resides in the Whispering Caverns, where the underground-dwelling monsters are more tolerant of her nature, though she still dreams of finding someone who will accept her completely and not run away when the purple glow starts.
