   Setting

   This is set on modern day Earth in the year 2024 where demihumans (sometimes referred to as demis which are beings with a mix of human and animal traits such as ears/horns/tails related to species) live alongside humans. Some demihumans may only have a few features whereas others may be anthropomorphic and less human appearing. Demihumans are heavily discriminated against and even considered inferior to humans even though they are as numerous as humans. Those who look more human passing face less discrimination compared to people who are fully anthropomorphic. For demihumans, discrimination is mostly due against predator species (bears, big cats, birds of prey, foxes, etc.) against prey species (deers, rodents, small reptiles, sparrows, geese, etc.). So many of the population fears predators and believe they are most dangerous due to the apex status. Stereotypes about predator demihumans exist and stay strong, no matter what happens to make things “right.” Of course, not all the population views predator demihumans this way and want equal treatment for everyone, which is why activism related to these matters is common. Usually, these groups are found online or in areas where there is a higher percentage of demihuman population. Humans are still dealing with racism and other forms of discrimination themselves though. The city of Chicago is divided by four major organized crime groups: Jaguar Bloods, The Almighty Cobras, The Raven Vice Disciples, and Royal Orcas. Each consortium focuses on different trades, for example, Jaguar Bloods focuses on sex work and entertainment while Royal Orcas handle smuggling and illegal imports and exports. These four groups run like the Mafia, just without the title. Makes things easier that way if the police get involved.

   Laws

   Laws are put in place to control demihumans as much as possible while simultaneously allowing them the idea of freedom in society. A few notable ones are:

   • Restrictions on housing (with banks and landlords face penalties if too many demihumans move into human-majority areas)
   • Carrying ID cards with their species, subspecies, and distinguishing features registered (not carrying one is a misdemeanor)
   • Employment limitations (only recently have the restrictions on employment been lifted with more demihumans as educators than years before)
   • Many cities have mandatory curfews in place because demihumans pose higher “nocturnal activity risks”
   • Employment in the military are limited to specific units such as Black Operations or positions with high mortality rates
   • Many businesses are limited on the number of demihumans they can hire
   • Some luxury goods such as high-end technology or firearms are entirely illegal for them to own
   • Predator species demihumans are prohibited from working in environments that handle raw meats and vulnerable populations like elderly people
2. #2ID Cards

   ID Cards

   As the law states, all demihuman persons must carry a form of physical identification in the form of ID cards known as Species Identification Cards. These ID cards (similar to State IDs and Driver Licenses, however they do not replace them) include demihumans species and subspecies when applicable and predatory or prey status. Failure to have one on your person can lead to a misdemeanor at best.

   There are many places demihumans can go to get one both legally (through the county's DMV) and illegally (through the black market or back alleys). In Chicago, Royal Orcas are one of the main four branches that handle these types of things.

3. #3Hybrids & Breeding

   Hybrids

   Demihumans with two or more species mixed in them makes them a hybrid. Hybrid demihumans are extremely rare--making up around less than 15% of the population--due to how unsuccessful mixed different family (a taxonomic level in the animal kingdom) type demihuman are. In this society, hybrids are fetishized and usually easy targets for human trafficking or prostitute especially in the Chicago area.

   Pregnancy & Breeding

   Just like in the animal kingdom, the mixing of different family types for demihumans are extremely rare. Usually, the mixing of genus (a taxonomic level in the animal kingdom) types have a higher success rate due to how much more compatible the genes are. When it comes to a human and demihuman mixing genes, depending on if the female is able to have a live birth would determine how successful conception is. If the demihuman is a viviparous type when it comes to reproduction, then pregnancy is possible. If the demihuman is a oviparous, type when it comes to reproduction, then pregnancy is possible ONLY with other oviparous types. For example, a female avian demihuman couldn't give birth if the male was human due to the different reproduction types, however a male amphibian demihuman could get a female avian demihuman pregnant.

4. #4Dirge AKA Conidat

   Dirge AKA Conidat

   Conidat is a Stimulant that is a mix of two plants (hemlock and datura) which are two extremely dangerous plants for both humans and animals. Due to its extremely dangerous nature, drug dealers will cut other things into their drugs to make it not as potent. This drug only affects demihumans, however, with the side effects of this drug depend greatly on one’s blood type (A, B, AB, O) and so no two people will experience the same “trip” so to speak. However, there is very little knowledge of this drug in the general public. Barely any humans know it exists, let alone any demihumans who take drugs cut with Conidat. Basically, this is just a rumor, an urban myth, an online story one would make up with their friends.

   • Severe visual and auditory hallucinations (seeing monsters, hearing voices).
   • Cannibalistic impulses or self-mutilation (chewing skin, biting others).
   • Intense paranoia (“everyone’s out to get me”).
   • Hyper-aggression, violent physical outbursts.
   • Loss of pain sensitivity (self-injury without awareness).
   • Dilated pupils, bloodshot eyes, rapid darting eye movements.
   • Extreme overheating / sweating profusely.
   • Muscle rigidity, convulsions, jaw clenching, teeth grinding.
   • Dissociation (believing they aren’t in their body).
   • Blackouts with memory gaps.
   • Tendency to attack anyone nearby, even loved ones.
   • High mortality rate—cardiac arrest, strokes, dehydration.
   • Post-high: extreme exhaustion, migraines, memory loss, and paranoia.
   • Overall people with AB blood type who take Conidat will experience severely unstable neurochemical reaction with the worst of everything—hallucinations, aggression, psychosis.

   Blood Type B Side Effects of Conidat:

   • Severe nausea and dry heaving, sometimes vomiting blood.
   • Excessive sweating and chills alternating.
   • Compulsive behaviors (pacing, scratching skin, repeated movements).
   • Adrenaline surges—heart pounding, jittery limbs, shaky hands.
   • Insomnia lasting for days; users look exhausted but wired.
   • Muscle cramps, spasms, and restless legs.
   • Aggressive irritability; fights over nothing.
   • Paranoia and mild hallucinations (shadows moving, whispering voices).
   • Rapid weight loss with repeated use due to nausea and lack of sleep.
   • Risk of cardiac arrhythmias and dehydration.
   • Psychological compulsion—users feel “unfinished” and keep redosing.
   • Post-high: severe fatigue, stomach pain, tremors, depressive crash.

   • Erotomania (believing strangers or entities are in love with them).
   • Risk-taking sexual behaviors, often unsafe.
   • Dilated pupils, flushed skin, erratic breathing.
   • Euphoria tied specifically to sexual delusions.
   • Distorted time perception (minutes feel like hours).
   • Anxiety when “phantom partners” disappear or resist.
   • Occasional violent behavior if rejected or interrupted mid-delusion.
   • Post-high depression tied to feelings of loneliness or shame.
   • Overdose risk: seizures, cardiac events, dehydration.
   • Long-term: possible psychosis, sexual dysfunction, obsessional behaviors.

   • Intense euphoria and bliss, “out-of-body” feelings.

   • Visual distortions (light trails, glowing outlines around people).
   • Calm confidence, lowered inhibitions.
   • Compulsive talking, affectionate behavior.
   • Increased heart rate, sometimes leading to palpitations.
   • Restlessness, inability to sit still.
   • Insomnia lasting 24–48 hours after use.
   • Occasional paranoia at high doses.
   • Reduced appetite; dehydration risk.
   • Overdose risk: heart strain, seizures, dissociative fugue states.
   • Post-high: mild depression, body aches, “crash” fatigue.
   • People with O-type blood experience more euphoric, dissociative, energy-focused side effects, but although these don’t see as bad, the drug is still risky for them.
9. #9Raven Vice Disciples

   Raven Vice Disciples

   • The Raven Vice Disciples is the last branch that specifically control Chicago's Eaglewood, Apollo Park, and the Southwest area. This group's primary domain is drug creation, refinement, bulk trafficking, designer substances, and demihuman-specific narcotics—functioning as the chemical backbone of Chicago's entire criminal underworld.
   • One of the main drugs RVD handles is something called "Conidat" or the street name "Dirge". The high this drug gives depends greatly on the user's blood type, so no two people will get the same kind of high.
   • RVD focus on selling cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, MDMA in addition to Dirge.
   • Their operations are industrial-scale and ruthlessly efficient. RVD manufactures designer drugs including party stimulants, demihuman-targeted strains (Like Conidat), physiological enhancers, narcotics that amplify instincts, and fear-inducing interrogation drugs. They oversee the complete supply chain from production and packaging to wholesaling and distribution routes across Chicago and the Great Lakes region. Beyond narcotics, they run an organ trade where they stripping corpses for parts and profit (because rich freaks will literally buy anything). They conduct field trials on addicts, runaways, and unaligned demihumans to test new products. Their reach extends across all the other branches like the Jaguars purchase euphorics and libido boosters or the Orcas buy muscle-enhancement stimulants.
   • RVD works closely with Royal Orcas do to shipping these drugs out globally.
   • RVD operates through multiple fronts that disguise their chemical empire. Abandoned metro tunnels converted into underground chemistry hubs, a manufacturer of cleaning chemicals and industrial solvents, a fake rehabilitation center used for drug trials, forced detox, and organ harvesting, and a massive warehouse that serves as their fortified primary headquarters.
   • Recruitment targets street orphans and abandoned demihuman youths, addicts in debt, amateur chemists and technicians.
   • Members and property of the Raven Vice Disciples are marked with wolf fangs engraved with serial numbers. They leave black feathers at every major operation, often dipped in whatever drug was involved.
10. #10The Almighty Cobras, TAC

    The Almighty Cobras

    • The Almighty Cobras is the second branch that control the Chicago area, specifically Chicago's North and West Side industrial districts, abandoned warehouses, underground fight dens, and key transportation corridors. This group's primary domain is enforcement, contract killings, intimidation, torture, and internal discipline—functioning as the Consortium's iron fist and maintaining order through fear and precision violence.
    • Their operations center around punishment and control. They enforce discipline across all Consortium factions by punishing insubordination or sloppy work with escalating brutality: missing fingers, shattered kneecaps, and even disappearances. They are the ones who handle contracted murders and assassinations of high-value targets, traitors, and anyone who threatens Consortium interests. No one is truly safe from them, especially for those who dig too deep. Their killings are usually clean and arranged as messages to others. Beyond murder, they run protection rackets across Consortium-claimed businesses, provide security for high-stakes deals, and extract information through torture and interrogation methods.
    • The Cobras operate through several fronts that mask their true nature. Striker Gym & Boxing Club serves as a public fitness center while secretly training enforcers. Black Coil Security Services functions as a legitimate private security company used for money laundering and covert movements. Abandoned warehouses operate as a fortified torture and execution site and garages handle armored deliveries, vehicle modifications, and getaway preparation. Then there are the underground fight dens that serve as recruitment, intimidation showcases, and settling internal disputes.
    • Recruitment targets prison populations, boxing and MMA gyms, ex-military dropouts, and abused or angry youths drawn to power. Initiations test loyalty through endurance trials, acts of violence, and "the pit"—surviving a one-minute fight against multiple members. Once inside, members are controlled through oaths enforced with blackmail or debt, trauma-bonding rituals, a rigid code of silence, and the knowledge that leaving means being hunted down.
    • The Cobras have cultivated a highly dangerous status in Chicago's underworld with Police avoiding them, informants disappearing before they can speak. Even the other Consortium factions fear them while relying on them to maintain order.
    • Members and property of the Almighty Cobras are marked with snake-themed tattoos usually featuring a cobra coiled around a downward-pointing dagger. Members specifically wear black, acid green, and chrome—clothing that lean toward a more tactical style.
11. #11Jaguar Bloods

    Jaguar Bloods

    • Jaguar Bloods is one of four branch that control the Chicago area, specifically Chicago's Lower West Side, Little Village, and the Red Light Corridor. This specific group’s primary domain is all things sex work and prostitution, using sex work as their most profitable and visible front. Their reach extends through brothels, demihuman-focused fetish houses, strip clubs, escort networks, and underground kink venues.
    • However, underneath is a group that uses extensive trafficking pipelines that prey on runaways, undocumented immigrants, and displaced demihumans. They run illicit porn studios, predatory cam-sites, and high-paying “red room dungeons” for elite clients, all tightly wrapped by their ownership over the numerous nightclubs, bars, cabarets, and queer nightlife hotspots in the Chicago area. Basically, there isn’t a place they don’t own that regular people haven’t helped fund in some way.
    • Information is another currency that is tightly controlled with the use of hidden cameras, staged encounters, and weaponized escorts feed them kompromat on politicians, executives, and celebrities. Businesses across the district are pressured into buying the Jaguars’ “protection,” paying extortion fees to be spared from the gang itself. Even those who enter their world willingly often find themselves trapped, bound by engineered debts such as medical bills, fabricated contracts, drug dependencies, and much more which is designed to keep sex workers under the Jaguars’ permanent control.
    • The Jaguars prey on the vulnerable through calculated tactics: love-bombing targets with affection and false community, offering fake modeling contracts and entertainment industry 'opportunities,' providing drugs from other groups to create dependency, and manufacturing debts through medical bills, cosmetic procedures, or fabricated fees.
    • Although this group doesn’t turn away victims, they mainly focus on demihumans since that produces them more money than regular humans would from those who fetishize demihumans.
    • Members and property of the Jaguar Bloods are tattooed with an image of a roaring jaguar, or branding with claw marks respectively usually in visible parts of the body like the neck, arms, legs, or shoulders. Members specifically wear gold jewelry, clothing with an amber color to it, and jaguar patterns.
12. #12Royal Orcas

    Royal Orcas

    • Royal Orcas is the third branch that control the South Side docks, fishing ports, Lake Michigan shipping lanes, and all related water areas. This group's primary domain is smuggling, international shipping, port control, maritime trafficking, gunrunning, and illegal imports/exports—functioning as the transportation backbone and global arteries through which all illegal commodities flow in and out of Chicago.
    • Their operations span international and domestic waters. They handle smuggling of drugs, firearms, stolen goods, human trafficking, and exotic demihuman contraband. Their port dominance extends to controlling shipping manifests, crane schedules, cargo inspections, and orchestrating "lost container" operations. They run extensive gunrunning operations, importing black-market weaponry from the Great Lakes region, Mexico, and Southeast Asia. Their maritime racketeering includes unlicensed whaling, rare species trade, and forcing protection fees on independent fishermen. They provide smuggler escort services for other syndicates, including safe passage for RVD's drug shipments, and use container laundering—hiding illegal shipments inside legitimate cargo ships with falsified manifests.
    • The Royal Orcas operate through strategically positioned fronts across the waterfront. Blackwater Pier serves as their private dock under complete control, avoided by locals while police conveniently misplace reports about it. The Depths is a submerged hideout beneath an abandoned fish-processing plant, accessible only through underwater tunnels. South Star Shipping Co. functions as a legitimate shipping firm providing their primary cover.
    • Outside of what this group's focus is, there is very limited information on how to join, how things are run, etc.
    • The Royal Orcas have cultivated massive political and underworld influence. They own significant chunks of the shipping economy including corrupt union leaders, crane operators, customs officers, and Coast Guard contacts. They set unofficial tariffs for any illicit goods entering or exiting Chicago and act as the international face of the Consortium, negotiating with cartels, triads, biker gangs, and foreign arms dealers. They maintain gentlemen's agreements with Canadian syndicates to keep Lake Michigan trade unbothered and manipulate political campaigns through donations funneled from shipping unions.
13. #13Locations

    Keys: Delirium, BDSM club

    Delirium is both a nightclub and BDSM club, but the two areas are divided enough that neither overlay and even have two separate entrances. Delirium is located on the Lower West side of Chicago which is under the control of Jaguar Bloods. Because the Dungeon of Delirium is a members-only club, they require all guests to scan their digital or physical membership ID as well as go through a vetting process in order to enter.

    There are a number of smaller gangs that are no longer active due to the four major organized crime groups: Jaguar Bloods, The Almighty Cobras, The Raven Vice Disciples, and Royal Orcas. Many of them had either been combined with the major four, or completely removed. The major four don't take too kindly to
