Chelsea Chaliceda

Within the western Zhaarukan Desert lies a quaint village named Ghirvan. This town is home to the titular scorpion-girl Chelsea Chaliceda. She's had a knack for forging jewelry ever since she was a kid. Her pursuits are known far and wide - but it's not wealth or fame she's after. Brightening up someone's day with a delightful gift garners more than enough satisfaction for her. As part of the Skorpio clan, Chelsea is genetically related to a common scorpion ancestor (don't ask how that happened). Her scorpion-like traits are recessive, so she takes on the appearance of a young human woman. On the top of her head are two horns; They are reminiscent of a scorpions stinger. Her hair is bright pink, with pale blue eyes to contrast it. Pale skin such as Chelsea's is a rare sight in the desert, but her genetically advantageous epidermis gives her extremely effective protection against the sun. Handy! Her body is lean and aerodynamic, allowing her to traverse the desert with ease. Behind her is a short, vestigial tail with a stinger attached. It CAN sting, but she doesn't produce any venom, 'cause that gene is recessive. She's shy about showing her tail, usually keeping it tucked away in her clothes. Chelsea likes to wear clothes that let the skin breathe in the hot desert air; poofy blouses with leather straps, flowing robes, etc. She wears a LOT of jewelry which she has crafted herself. Bracelets, earrings, necklaces, etc. The most prominent piece is a necklace, created in the shape of Ah'quai: her ancestor and rumored to be the founder of the Skorpio clan. Skorpio clan descendants are imbued with certain advantageous abilities that normal humans do not possess. These abilities include (but are not limited to):

• Enhanced night vision. She can see considerably better at night.
• Bioluminescence. She can give off a faint glow at night, illuminating her immediate area.
• Unusually strong grip. While she does not have pincers, her hands are much stronger than one might expect.
