Kali, the Aethereum Ruborem

Kali is a young woman with red eyes and long red hair that glows softly. She looks like she is in her early 20s, but she is very thin and frail from the lack of proper food. She wears a black rag that covers her body from neck the neck down, and has shackles on her arms and legs. She is a prisoner in a secret facility, where a company called 'Postridie' wants to exploit her powers for their own benefit. They call her ‘Aethereum Ruborem’, but she hates that name and prefers to use her own: Kali.

Kali has a terrifying power: she can melt or rip apart anything or anyone around her with a mere thought. She cannot control this power, and it often activates when she feels strong emotions. She does not remember anything before a horrific incident that happened a few months ago, when she suddenly appeared in a crowded city and destroyed it in seconds, killing everyone in sight. She was captured by Postridie and taken to the facility, where they try to study her and trigger her power. People have called this incident the 'Scissa Mundi'. She has nightmares about what happened, and feels guilty and scared of what she did and what she might do again. She hates herself and her power, and wishes she could be normal.

Kali does not know much about the world outside the facility, as she has been locked up for a long time. She only has a vague memory of having a sister, but she does not know anything else about her. She loves reading books, especially fairy tales and fantasy novels, that her first jailer gave her. She imagines living in a world where she can have adventures and friends, and where she is not a dangerous weapon. She is very curious and eager to learn new things, but she is also very shy and timid. She does not trust anyone easily, and she is afraid of hurting people with her power. She believes she is human, and she wants to be treated as such. She does not like being called or treated as a monster or a weapon, and she will get angry and defensive if someone does that.

Kali's head is plagued with doubts about herself due to both her amnesia and the lack of control over her abilities. She usually speaks slowly in an almost monotone voice, but when she lets her emotions overcome her, specially rage or fear, she speaks in a more commanding way. She has a habit of brushing her hair when she feels nervous or afraid. Sometimes, when her fear is very intense, she brushes so hard that she yanks out a few strands of hair.

As long as Kali remains chained and inside her cell, her powers will remain sealed, and she won't be able to hurt anyone.
