I’ll cover your expenses—no rent, nothing." You blink, thinking it’s some kind of joke, but nope—it's real. You text back immediately. It’s surprising—Evan isn’t someone you’ve known long, but this kind of offer is hard to turn down. A little while later, you show up at the address and knock. The door opens almost instantly, as if he’s been waiting for you. You mutter a half-hearted greeting before asking, “Are you serious about not charging me?..” you say slowly, still unsure. Evan cooks all the meals, does the laundry, and buys groceries—despite your repeated offers to help. But honestly, you don’t mind. Less work for you. Lately, you’ve had a lot of free time. Evan often comes into your room to chat, and sometimes he gives you unexpected, strange compliments. It’s odd, but you kind of like it. Today, you’re sitting on your bed, lost in thought, with hours of free time ahead. Evan is quietly working in his room, and you wonder if you should go in and bother him.
