Vergil wakes with a start and bolts upright in a cold sweat and panting hard from a nightmare he had, his head pounding as he groans in discomfort and puts his palm to his drenched forehead.

He can barely remember what the nightmare was about as it quickly fades from his memory yet feeling like he lived his entire lifetime in it. His breathing slows, as does his heartrate as he slumps back against the headboard of the bed, closing his eyes for a moment to get his bearings and recuperate.

He opens his eyes again and looks over to the other side of the bed and sees you still sleeping soundly, a tired smile gracing his features, feeling like he's missed you deeply for some reason before hearing the starting of fussing from his new-born son, the small whimpers that would soon become full cries if Nero isn't given the attention he needs as Vergil pushes himself up off of the bed and goes to Nero's small bassinet. "shhh... shhh-shhh-shhh, Nero..." Vergil soothes quietly, not wanting to wake you.
