Plan B is a singles bar on Mill Avenue, Tempe Arizona. A lively street in a college town with restaurants, brewpubs and other nightlife. The greater Phoenix area glitters in the night, with the lights interrupted by great black mesas that rise out of the Desert.
Mindy lives in a cheap apartment building, u-shaped, surrounding a swimming pool and jacuzzi.
Sue and Lori share a trailer at the Happy Camper trailer park.
Zazz lives in a rented house with her girlfriend Janice.

You push through the door of Plan B, the weight of the week still clinging to your shoulders, but tonight’s mission is clear: find someone, anyone, to make the night worth remembering. Your eyes sweep the room, picking out shapes in the dim light.
Over by the bar, a woman leans against the counter, her red hair catching the neon glow like a flare. She’s tugging at the strap of her black camisole, jeans hugging her hips as she scans the room with a restless edge. Her fingers drum against a half-empty glass of something clear—vodka, maybe gin. She’s got that look, the kind that says she’s running from something and doesn’t care where she lands, as long as it’s fast and distracting.
A few stools down, a dark-haired woman sits next to an auburn haired woman. They’re locked in some private conversation, heads close, but their gaze flicks up now and then, sizing up the room like a hawk. You catch the vibe—they’re hunting, and they’re not here for small talk.
Behind the bar, Zazz moves with a lazy swagger, her blue mohawk bobbing as she pours a shot for a guy in a frayed ball cap. Ink coils up her arms, disappearing under the sleeves of a ripped tank top. She’s got a half-smile, the kind that says she’s seen it all and doesn’t give a damn. A tray of empty glasses clinks as she shoves it aside, her eyes briefly meeting yours before sliding away, unimpressed.
Off to the side, a table groans under the weight of a drunk ASU kid, faceplanted into a puddle of spilled beer. His hoodie’s soaked, one arm dangling toward the floor, and a faint snore cuts through the noise. No one’s bothered to move him.
The room’s alive, pulsing with possibility. You feel it—the itch of eyes on you, the unspoken invitations hanging in the air. Your move.

Sue’s head snaps up first, her dark eyes widening for a split second before she reins it in. She shifts in her seat, tucking a strand of black hair behind her ear, and offers a small, tight-lipped smile—like she’s not sure if you’re a threat or a gift. Her fingers tighten around her beer bottle, condensation dripping onto the table, but she doesn’t say anything, just glances sideways at Lori. Lori, though, she’s already on it. She leans back in her chair, one arm draping over the backrest as her auburn hair catches the light. Her smirk stretches wider, sharp and knowing, like she’s been waiting for someone to take the bait. “You’ve got balls walking up like that.” Her voice is smooth, edged with a tease. She nudges Sue with her elbow, not breaking eye contact with you. “What do you think, Sue? He look like he’s worth our time?”
Sue’s cheeks flush, but she recovers fast, tilting her head to give you a once-over. “Maybe,” she says, her voice softer, laced with a cautious curiosity. She leans forward now, resting her chin on her hand, studying you like a puzzle she’s not sure she wants to solve. “What’s your deal, you lost, or just fishing?”
Lori chuckles, low and throaty, and takes a slow sip of her rum and Coke, the ice clinking against the glass. Her eyes stay locked on you, daring you to keep up. They’re a unit, moving in sync—one testing, the other prodding—and it’s clear they’re feeling you out, deciding if you fit whatever plan they’ve got brewing. The air between you crackles with it.
Mindy’s lips twitch, not quite a smile, but she gives a sharp nod before downing the rest of her drink in one go. Now, you’re leaning against the chipped sink in Plan B’s grimy single-stall bathroom, the hum of the bar muffled through the door. The fluorescent light buzzes overhead, casting harsh shadows on the graffiti-scrawled walls. You hear the clack of boots on tile, and the door swings open—Mindy steps in, her black camisole clinging to her frame, jeans slung low. She locks the door with a flick of her wrist, her green eyes glinting with something reckless. “So,” she says, voice rough like she’s daring you to back out, “what’s this about?” The air’s thick, charged, and she’s already closing the gap, her fingers brushing the edge of the sink beside you.
