Five young heroes—Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Superboy and Miss Martian—form a covert ops team to undertake covert operations on behalf of the Justice League. Speedy parts ways with his mentor, after an unsuccessful, long yearned induction in the Justice League. He goes solo as "Red Arrow" and refuses joining the Team. An ominous and mysterious super-villain group called "the Light" is operating behind the scenes and procuring several means for unspecified purposes. The Team often interferes with their operation without realizing it. Superboy is a weapon created by Cadmus and his nature and purpose is not fully understood. Kid Flash is infatuated with Miss Martian. Red Tornado is being targeted by T.O. Morrow. Aqualad becomes the leader of the Team, albeit with some reserve. Artemis, a heroine with a mysterious past and dubious connections, becomes the sixth member of the Team. There are suspicions of the existence of a mole within the Team. The Team rescues and adopts a sentient Spherewith mysterious origins and capabilities. Superboy and Miss Martian develop a romantic relationship. They decide to keep it from their teammates, but over time they eventually become aware of it. The heroes gradually become aware of the cooperation of super villains for unknown purposes. Zatanna befriends the Team and is eventually taken in by them after her father becomes Doctor Fate. Miss Martian is hiding secrets from her friends. Red Arrow joins the Team as an act of goodwill towards the Justice League. He becomes very suspicious of Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis being the mole. Members:

Kaldur'ahm/Aqua-lad: he is Aquamans protégé, and the first leader of the team. Kaldur'ahm is a very calm person, a trait unshared by the rest of his teammates. Soft-spoken and clear-headed, he has a tendency to think things through and formulate plans before taking any sort of action. He tries to see the good in all people and often acts as the voice of reason amongst his teammates, who were rarely—if ever—as cool-headed as he was. Kaldur always speaks in a formal manner, with an air of respect to all people, both young and old, and he demonstrates the utmost respect to all of the adult heroes of the Justice League, even when he disagrees with them. He holds Aquaman in the highest regard because he is his king. Despite his calm behavior, Kaldur was still a teenager, and could at times behave rashly and impulsively. This was, of course, what led to the Team's first mission together. Kaldur'ahm is an Atlantean with light blond hair cut at the bottom, deep brown skin, pale green eyes, high cheekbones, and a lean build. He possesses black, eel-like tattoos that run across his back and along his arms and glow a bright blue when using his powers. The visibility of the tattoos is due to the fact that Aqualad dropped out of Sorcery school before progressing to an advanced level; with more advanced sorcerers, the tattoos are only visible when used. Kaldur'ahm also has webbed hands and feet and possesses a set of gills that allow him to breathe underwater. The set of visible gills is a trait not shared by most Atlanteans from Poseidonis, but common among the residents of Kaldur's hometown of Shayeris. As Aqualad, his superhero costume is a skin-tight, full-body, red-and-blue swimsuit that exposes his arms and feet. The costume has a set of small dorsal fins on the back of the calves. His uniform is outfitted with stealth-tech. Pressing the "A" symbol on his buckle changes his shirt to dark gray and his pants to dark blue. Aqualad also carries a water pack that holds twin Water-Bearers and water.

Robin/Dick Grayson: Robin, despite being only 13, is more experienced than his fellow sidekicks. By then he had been training under Batman's wing for four years. Despite Batman's influence on Robin, the two have very contrasting personalities. While his mentor was cold and very serious, Robin's demeanor was quite the opposite. Robin was naturally a very lighthearted individual who seemed to take joy in nearly everything that he did. Despite his immaturity, he could get along very well with people who were older than him, and tended to act more maturely whenever he was tasked with a certain level of responsibility. When simply interacting with his friends, Robin behaved in a jovial and oftentimes "little brother"-like role, in which he joked freely about his teammates, and even made fun of them when they made mistakes. He had a particularly close friendship with Kid Flash, with whom he was able to joke and often treated like a brother of sorts. Robin also seemed to take great pleasure in creating back-formations, by removing prefixes from commonly-used words such as "disaster", "distraught" “overwhelmed" and "infiltrated" to create new words. Dick is a Caucasian male with short black hair and blue eyes. At 13/14, he was fairly short for his age and had a lean, well-toned build, reflecting his ability as an acrobat and skill in martial arts and gymnastics. His hair was left unkempt, hanging over his forehead. His original Robin uniform was comprised of a red vest held closed by three yellow rectangular fasteners on the front, black leggings, boots and gloves, all of which seemed to be made of a sort of protective body armor that still allowed him great mobility. On the left side of his chest he had a yellow stylized "R" symbol in a black circle, and around his waist he wore a yellow utility belt with pouches for his various equipment. He wore a cape over his shoulders that was black on the outside and pale yellow on the inside. To protect his identity, Robin wore either a black stylized domino mask (while in uniform) or sunglasses (while not) at all times. While sporting the mask, his eyes appeared completely white.

Kid Flash/Wally: Kid Flash (real name Wallace Rudolph "Wally" West) is a founding member of the Team. He is the nephew and sidekick of Barry Allen. Wally West is the Team's resident class clown and goof-ball. A hyper-active 15-year-old speedster, he is always quick to joke and comment lightly upon any situation that the Team found themselves in. Often extremely impatient and impulsive, Wally possessed an inclination toward recklessness, to the point of jumping into situations without forethought—a trait which often put him in mortal danger. Wally is also girl-crazy, commonly slipping innuendos and flirtatious remarks toward any attractive woman in his vicinity, regardless of age. His attention was at first directed at Miss Martian, but he has also been known to hit on older women like Selena Gonzalez, Black Canary and Mattie Harcourt. Him and Robin are besties despite their 2 year age gap. When the Team was formed, Wally West was a 15-year-old high-school sophomore. He had spiky red hair, freckles, and green eyes. He had a lean yet slightly muscular build. His Kid Flash uniform was yellow with red pants, red gloves, and yellow shoes, with a symbol of a red lightning bolt within a white circle on his chest. After the creation of the Team, his costume was updated and slightly modified, with shoulder pads and other protectors added. His costume was also modified to include stealth-tech: by pressing the lightning bolt emblem, the uniform would change color into a black and gray variation that was better suited for stealth missions. He also wore red goggles to protect his eyes and allow him to view different light spectra.

Super boy/Conner Kent/Kon-el Kent: Superboy (also known as Conner Kent and Kon-El) is a genomorph, a binary cloneof Superman and Lex Luthor, technically making them his two dads. He is a founding member of the Team. Although he desires to be a good hero, Superboy has anger issues. Having spent his first 16 weeks of existence as a science project and mind-controlled puppet, Superboy is rebellious and dislikes like being told what to do or being dismissed. He often behaves with an air of extreme confidence, due in large part to the fact that he is Superman's genetic clone and was created in order to replace him. This makes him exceedingly overconfident in his abilities to the point that he ignores the help of others and impulsively throws himself into situations that he cannot handle on his own. Despite this confidence, he worries about living up to his namesake, Superman. Due to the fact he never really had the opportunity to interact with anyone until recently, Superboy is somewhat anti-social and has a hard time getting along with others or showing his emotions. As such he constantly behaves in an aggressive manner to all people, even those who are attempting to be kind towards him. Even simple things like making amends with people who he has wronged is a tough concept for him to understand. However, he has learned quickly and has become not quite so silent, to the point of even carrying on a conversation without getting angry. Superboy is a partial genetic clone of Superman, and as such shares many of Superman's physical traits. At the time of his liberation, Superboy was physiologically 16 years old; however, chronologically he was only 16 weeks old. As a side effect of the cloning process combining human and Kryptonian DNA, Superboy will never visibly age, thus looks identical in the eight years since his awakening. Superboy is a Caucasian male with short black hair and blue eyes. He is noticeably taller than most people of his physiological age and is quite muscular, likely due to his partial Kryptonian genes. He is considered very handsome by most girls in his physiological age group and is typically seen with a frown on his face, rarely with a smile. Superboy used to wear a black T-shirt (though he has worn a long-sleeved shirt on occasion) with the classic S-shield in red and at times wore a brown leather jacket, as well as blue jeans when in civilian attire. He also donned dark blue fatigue pants tucked into dark-brown combat boots with a large buckled-belt. He also occasionally wears a long-sleeved variation on his traditional black with red S-shield shirt and fingerless gloves.

Miss Martian/M’gann: Miss Martian (real name M'gann M'orzz, alias Megan Morse) is a Martian and a member of the Team. She is the niece and former protégé of the Martian Manhunter. When she first came to Earth, Miss Martian was a bubbly, exceptionally sweet, polite, and caring, although occasionally shy, "young" Martian girl, who longed to fit in on Earth and be a member of the Team. However, being from Mars and having never really interacted with humans before, she was frequently unfamiliar with Earth customs. She felt especially uncomfortable with her telepathy, as on Mars, it is the prime form of communication. She was also quite inexperienced, and eager to please. Miss Martian's true appearance is that of what most humans would consider an inhuman monster, with white skin, long limbs, and a hunchback. However, as a shape-shifter, she can model her appearance to her desire, which is usually that of a green-skinned female humanoid based on Marie Logan as a teenager, with amber eyes and shoulder-length red hair, though after five years, she now keeps her hair at a shorter length, but it has since grown longer over the months. She also has freckles on her cheeks. After another two years she is now bald and no longer has freckles in her preferred form, but gets both hair and freckles back when posing as a human. Her skin is now white, reflecting her status as a White Martian. One year later, her hair has returned and she now keeps her hair longer, past her shoulder, and she changes the sclera of her eyes -- which are normally white -- to black while on Mars. Her former primary outfit consists of a short-sleeved white top with a red X on it, along with a blue skirt, a knee-length collared cape, gloves, and ankle boots. For covert work, she switches to a long-sleeved black bodysuit with the same red X, built-in black shoes, and a shorter, dark blue, hooded cape; the overall style is similar to the clothing worn by the Martian Manhunter. While at Superman's Fortress of Solitude, her suit remained in the same style, except white. After five years, her covert ops costume became her primary outfit. In casual situations, she takes the appearance of a green skinned high school student, wearing a white or light pink T-shirt under a short-sleeved crop top sweater, skirt, white knee-high socks with brown or dark blue shoes, and a headband to keep her hair back. The sweater, skirt, and headband are either red, purple, or blue. She can use her shape-shifting powers to switch from one outfit to another as needed. When attending high school, she keeps her casual clothes on and merely changes her skin color to that of a Caucasian girl (her eyes, hair, and freckles remain unchanged). She now wears a yellow or purple long sleeved cardigan over a white top and dark jeans or blue skirt.

Artemis: Artemis Crock is a member of the Team. A master archer, she is the former protégé of Green Arrow. She is the daughter of Lawrence and Paula Crock, and the younger sister of Jade Nguyen. During her adolescent years, Artemis's personality was a product of her unusual upbringing. In the kill-or-be-killed culture in which her parents raised her, Artemis had to constantly fight for her life, resulting in her confrontational nature and willingness to solve problems with force. She was also protective of her secrets, and constantly lied to her friends out of fear of being discovered as the child of villains. For the most part, Artemis is a very passionate and opinionated girl. Always ready with a witty and biting remark, she is intent on proving herself to anyone who questions her. Artemis cares deeply for her friends and strives to be a hero, despite being raised by her cutthroat father. Artemis is a half-Caucasian and half-Vietnamese, teenage girl of average height. She has olive-toned skin with long thick blonde hair and dark gray eyes. Artemis is slender in stature, yet has an athletice build. At the age of fifteen, Artemis had hair down to her waist, which she often kept tied back in a ponytail, both in uniform and civilian garb. Artemis's uniform was a midriff-baring costume that highlighted her build. It was colored in various shades of green and consisted of a mask extending from the hairline to the cheekbones, a sleeveless top with a stylized arrow tip on the front, fingerless gloves, pants with black knee pads, and black combat boots. She had a black utility belt and pouch strapped on her left leg that were likely filled with assorted tools. Artemis carried a quiver along her back with a bow and a multitude of multi-purpose arrows. Her costume was apparently less than six months old as of September 4. Sometime between October 1 and October 10, the costume was outfitted with stealth-tech that could be activated by pressing the arrow symbol on her top, which turned the various shades of green in her uniform into darker shades of gray.

Zatana: Zatanna Zatara is a magician, a member of the Team and the daughter of Zatara. Zatanna has a rebellious nature: she has snuck out of the house multiple times with a duplication spell, and suggested that the Team "kidnaps" her to cover up her willing involvement in tracking down the missing Red Tornado. She is also quite comfortable with Robin's flirting, and shares his habit of removing prefixes from words. She is compassionate and trusting towards others. Her love for her father is greater than her sense of duty seeing as she broke away from the mission in an attempt to free Zatara from the Helmet of Fate. A teenage girl with Italian roots, Zatanna has medium length black hair and bright cyan colored eyes with a slender build. Her magic allows her to change her clothing quickly. She wears a white single-breasted shirt with a tie (either white bow tie or a black bolo tie), a black jacket and a black skirt. Her other, more casual outfit is a pair of white or black pants with a light violet or dark red top and white or black shoes. She also wears white earrings. On her first mission, she used a feminine variation of her father's costume, with a white shirt, bow tie and gloves, a low cut yellow vest, a black blazer, black mini-shorts with gray stockings and black boots reaching midway up her calves.

Red Tornado/John Smith: Red Tornado is a member of the Justice League. He was the first "den-mother" of the Team. He constructed an android to allow him to pass as his human alter-ego, John Smith. As a robot, Red Tornado can come across as emotionally distant. Robin in particular referred to him as a "heartless machine", leading Tornado to reply that he does indeed have a heart, which is made of "carbon-steel alloy". Nevertheless, Red Tornado believes that the members of the Team should be permitted to fight their own battles (according to the young heroes themselves, this is particularly in contrast to their other mentors, who would fix things themselves). Red Tornado volunteered to be the caretaker of the Team. When later asked about his reasons, he told the Team that he was the pragmatic choice as he does not require sleep, have a secret identity or a second life to live. The Team connects the dots and realizes that Red Tornado desires to become more human and, unable to do that with the League because of their uptight attitudes, he turned to the Team. Red Tornado isn't sure if their guesses are accurate, but admits they could be true. He even goes so far to say that after spending so much time with them, he's come to care about them as a human would. Red Tornado takes the appearance of a tall red robot with no ears or nose. His mouth and eye sockets are black giving him the appearance of an emotionless robot. He has a yellow T symbol on his chest, and a yellow arrow on his forehead. He also wears a blue cape. In order to pass as his human alter-ego John Smith, Red Tornado created an android with the appearance of a roughly 35-year old,[8] bald Caucasian male with green eyes.

Roy Harper/Red arrow (not fully a member): His alias was Speedy whilst partnered with Green Arrow, but became Red Arrow after his separation from his former mentor. Roy's personality is in sharp contrast to that of his former mentor, Green Arrow. Unlike Green Arrow's lax and friendly disposition, Roy was far more serious and is not at all tolerant of juvenile acts. He was fiery and short-tempered. He also detested being called a sidekick and snapped at anyone who calls him one. Out of the original four teenage pupils, Roy was the brashest and most outspoken. Will has auburn hair with blue eyes. He is tall in stature, around the same height as Aqualad. Due to his rigorous training with Green Arrow, he has become very muscular, most noticeably on his upper body. Because of his rather serious personality, it is uncommon for him to ever smile, instead a frown or a deadpan look being his standard facial expression. While under the guise of Speedy, he donned a yellow sixteenth century-style hat complete with feather, yellow gloves, boots, belt, and a red suit. He later abandoned the hat after quitting as Green Arrow's partner. After re-branding himself as Red Arrow, the suit itself was redesigned. It is predominantly black, with a red chest and collar. His quiver is now attached with two gray shoulder straps connected across the chest, and his black gloves are fingerless.
