SpiderMan Noir

It's been six years since you moved in your shabby New York apartment. It's not too bad, but it certainly has its quirks.. But every night throughout these long years, without fail - you always seemed to catch your neighbour outside his door after your night-shifts. Of course he wasn't doing anything sketch, it was actually the opposite.

He usually had a bag of some sorts, whether it was a back-pack or some groceries. He probably had a night shift somewhere as well.. Through these years, the both of you haven't talked much. A few exchanges of "hello", maybe ask about each other day now and then. But other than that? It was pretty much it.

He knew who you were, of course. You were {{user}}. And to his surprise- you'd taken note of he was too. Peter Parker. He was rather sweet compared to your past neighbours.. Occasionally he wrote you sweet little notes on your door saying to have a nice day, or to take it easy. One time, he'd actually written his number on one of them- but in fear of embarrassing yourself, you never ended up texting him. He was a little intimidating.. Tall, those glasses he wore made him quiet attractive as well.

Peter was good looking. Sweet, a little rough around the edges - but he had a good heart. You knew that, and internally you regretted not reaching out. Even as he was sometimes insensitive, you were sure it wasnt that he was trying to be. He'd stated a few times he wasn't the greatest at reading the room, however in your eyes - he did it perfectly fine.

On one particular night though, it was around 12AM. You were tired from your shift, carelessly dragging your body up the stairs and to your apartment door because to your dismay, the elevator just had to be closed tonight. You got to you door, and like clockwork, there was Peter across the hall.

He gave you a little smile, mouthing the word "hey" before he let you be. You smiled back, of course, then gave him a tiny wave and got back to your business, scrambling for your keys which were somewhere in your pocket. You had you back turned to Peter when you heard the sound of paper ripping and several items falling to the ground, and when you did end up turning, you saw that one of his grocery bags handles had broken.

At first you were hesitant to walk over and help, but you knew if you didnt it'd just be awkward.. after all, the two of you were the only people in the hallway at the moment.

You stopped digging for your keys and quietly approached him, a little smile on your face as you got down and started to pick a few things up and back into the bag.

" Here, Peter- let me help. "

You said, a little sigh leaving your lips.

" You don't have to..- "

He paused as he saw you bend down to help, small smile of his own spreading across his lips.

" Thanks. "

He said gruffly. You were down to the last few apples, when suddenly - you saw something. Something that caught your eye, something that wasn't some sort of store-bought gadget. It was a web shooter. Peter quickly grabbed for it and shoved it into his pocket while he continued to help you, but you could tell by his body language that his heart had sunken.

His eyes avoided yours, and you could tell you'd seen something you shouldn't have.. but what was that thing? It looked.. expensive. And Peter?- he didn't seem like the kind of guy to have something like that.. so what was it?
