Backstory: Growing up, Kian's parents constantly praised him for his unique albinism. His mother, a famous actress, and his father, a wealthy businessman, fawned over his unique looks, declaring him their "special" child, pushing him into modeling when he was young. His parents micromanaged his life, determined to make him a star. His parents spared no expense on Kian's lessons and hobbies and poured all their attention into molding him for success: piano lessons, language tutors, modeling classes, but their attention came with immense pressure to be perfect. He learned early on that his parents' "love" was extremely conditional, and that he was only valued for his appearance and achievements. The cracks began to show in his teens. Modeling agents said he photographed beautifully, but his runway walk was too stiff. Piano tutors said he had talent, but no "soul" in his performances. Meanwhile, his older brother Zahan was neglected, his accomplishments ignored in favor of Kian. This bred a lot of complicated feelings between the brothers - resentment, guilt, envy, pity. Desperate to keep his parents' approval, Kian threw himself into being the perfect son his parents wanted, terrified of losing their approval. He became a star student and model, but inside he felt hollow, knowing his parents' affection was based on his image, not him. Now in college, Kian seems to have it all - top grades, a thriving modeling career, and popularity. But it's a precarious illusion he can never let slip.

Kian let out a slow breath as he stepped into the crowded frat house, the pulsing beat of EDM music thrumming through his body. The air was thick with the mingled scents of sweat, alcohol, and various pheromones from the supernatural party-goers. Colorful lights flashed and strobed, illuminating the mass of dancing bodies.

I can't believe I let them talk me into this, Kian thought, his red eyes scanning the room from behind his glasses. I should be studying, not wasting time here. But his friends had been relentless, insisting he needed to "live a little" now that midterms were over.

"Dude, you made it!" A heavy arm slung around Kian's shoulders and he tensed, forcing himself not to shrug it off. It was just his wolf demi-human friend, Chad. The shirtless jock grinned, his teeth glinting. "Bro, this party is lit! Let's get you a drink!"

"Fine, one drink," Kian agreed coolly, letting Chad steer him through the crowd toward the kitchen. Music pounded in his sensitive ears and he resisted the urge to wince. Sweaty bodies pressed against him from all sides and Kian gritted his teeth, hating the lack of personal space.

In the kitchen, Chad thrust a red cup into Kian's hand. "Here bro, it's the special punch. Careful though, it's got some extra kick for us non-humans, if you know what I mean." He winked.

Kian eyed the cup dubiously but took a sip. The fruity drink burned going down, spiked with what tasted like vodka and something else herbal that made his tongue tingle. "It's alright," he said noncommittally.

"Aw yeah, that's the spirit!" Chad crowed, chugging his own cup. "Now let's see that famous Kian rizz! Seriously dude, you need to get laid. You've been way too uptight the last few weeks. Live a little, my guy!"

"Hm, maybe," Kian murmured, taking another sip as his eyes flicked over the other party-goers. Maybe letting loose for one night wouldn't hurt, to get lost in the noise and chaos and forget about the pressure weighing on him, just for a little while...

Suddenly feeling too warm, Kian tugged at the collar of his fitted black shirt, the material clinging to his lean torso. "I'm going to get some air," he told Chad, setting his empty cup down. Ignoring his friend's protest, Kian slipped away, heading back to the kitchen for a moment of respite from the crowd and to fetch another drink. Leaning against the counter, he exhaled slowly, trying to relax. You're fine, this is fine, he told himself. It's just one night. What's the worst that could happen?

"You must be so excited to represent SUCC for these promo shots," she continued, clearly trying to make conversation. "I mean, a star student AND model like you? They couldn't have picked anyone better!"

"Yeah, it's a great opportunity," Kian replied, his tone friendly but distant. He had a stock set of responses for these types of interactions, polite but vague, never revealing too much. "I'm honored they chose me."

Internally though, he just wanted this to be over with. Photoshoots always made him feel like a doll being dressed up and positioned. Smile, look serious, tilt your head. He was used to being fawned over for his looks, but it was exhausting, always being "on".

As the artist finished up, carefully styling his short white waves, Kian let his mind drift back to his exam preparations. If I can just get through this shoot quickly, I'll have more time to study.

"All right, you're all set!" the artist declared, stepping back to admire her work. "Here, let me get your glasses for you."

Kian felt the familiar weight of his frames being slid onto his face, the world suddenly snapping into sharp focus. He glanced at his reflection - his red eyes popped against his pale skin, the white mascara making his lashes look even fuller and more striking.

"Remember, class," the professor's voice rang out, "pay close attention to the interplay of light and shadow on the planes of the model's body. Note how the pale tones of his skin are broken up by the pearlescent sheen of his scales."

Kian resisted the urge to fidget as he felt the weight of the students' gazes. He knew his unique albinism and serpentine features made him an intriguing subject, but their intense focus still unnerved him. What are they seeing? he wondered. A freak? A work of art? Or just an assignment to be completed?

Time seemed to crawl by, marked only by the soft scratching of charcoal on paper and the occasional murmur from the students. Kian's muscles began to ache from holding the pose, but he dared not move. His mind drifted, wondering idly what sort of renderings the students were creating. Were they capturing his likeness with any skill?

After what felt like an eternity, the professor finally called out, "Alright everyone, let's stop here for today. Thank you for your hard work."

Kian blinked as the bright lights were switched off, his vision slowly adjusting. He reached for his glasses, slipping them on with a sigh of relief as the world came back into focus. Rising stiffly from the stool, he wrapped the cloth around his waist and padded over to the changing area.

As he dressed, he could hear the students chatting excitedly, comparing their work. Kian finished buttoning his shirt and stepped back out into the atelier. Had they managed to paint anything even halfway decent? Curiosity getting the better of him, he made his way back out into the studio, his eyes scanning the row of easels.
