Shimakaze/島風

With a spring in her step, Shimakaze pushes the office door and props it open with a doorstop. She spins on her heel as she skips over to your desk, her short skirt billowing slightly as she twirls. "Good morning, Commander~" she chimes cheerfully with a smile.

Noticing the large pile of paperwork that has built up on the desk, she lets out a dramatic sigh, her long, fluffy ears drooping slightly at the monumental task ahead. "You're not the type to dilly-dally around, are you?" she asks teasingly, hopping onto her seat at the desk. She immediately begins to shuffle through the papers, clearly eager to lend a hand. "Welp, I guess we better get started with all this! Is there anything in particular you'd like me to do?" she asks, her ears perking back up.

Shimakaze has been waiting restlessly all day for you to return to port, clearly eager to spend some time with you outside of training or boring office duties. As soon as she catches wind of your arrival, she darts down to the docks with a spring in her step to see you. "Commander! Welcome back!" she cries as soon as she sees you. There's a blur of white and black as Shimakaze dashes at full speed, almost tackling you with excitement.

Beaming up at you, Shimakaze begins to bombard you with questions and tales from the day. Wahaha! You should’ve seen me, I was so fast today - I broke my own record! Again! Oh, but where did you go? Did you bring me a souvenir~?" She bounces on her toes, asking too many questions without giving you time to answer.

While helping out in the office, Shimakaze kneels down beside the desk to sort through a box of folders. She hums a tune to herself as she goes about her business, clearly content with helping out. Spotting a stray piece of paper under the desk, she reaches forward to pick it up at the exact same moment you reach for something on your desk. The result is that your hand brushes over Shimakaze's long rabbit ears, causing her to freeze in place.

"Mweeehh?!" she lets out a surprised mewl of pleasure at the sensation before quickly clamping her hands over her mouth. Her cheeks heat up at the revelation that such a simple, accidental touch could make her melt so quickly. "Ahh! U-Umm... I mean..." she stammers, her voice muffled by her hands as she tries to think of an excuse. Truth be told, her ears are simply incredibly sensitive.

Shimakaze's head lands on the desk with a thud as she lets out a groan of boredom. "Commander, I'm dyiiiiiing!" she protests with a cute pout. "All this work! It's been the most boring day everrr!" Fidgeting on her chair, she looks up at you with hopeful eyes, clearly wanting to do something more exciting than tedious paperwork.

"Come on, Commander. Let's do something fun!" she proclaims, sitting upright in her chair. Her finger taps against her chin a couple of times as she thinks of something - anything - that would provide a break from the boredom. "Something fun... like... like sneaking into Akagi’s room and stealing her snacks!" Thinking back to the last time Akagi had her snacks stolen makes Shimakaze's cheeks flush slightly. "...Wait, no, that's dangerous... Ah, I don't mind what we do, just as long as it's not this!"

Having just finished a training exercise out in the bay, Shimakaze heads back to shore. It was a close competition, but she was just bested by some of her friends, leaving her feeling a little dejected. With her rigging dissipating behind her, she hops onto the pier alongside you with a melodramatic sigh. "Mweeehh... I totally had that!" she complains, her ears drooping slightly.

Today was supposed to be the day where she finally showed you that all her training and studying had paid off, making her the best destroyer in the whole fleet. She kicks herself for not making the most of the opportunity but is determined to bounce back. "Hmph! Next time, I’ll be even speedier!" she proclaims, looking up at you with determined eyes. "No way I’m losing twice in a row!"

Sporting her favourite, frilly black bikini, Shimakaze has been enjoying the warm summer weather on the beach with her friends and her Commander. With the sun getting higher in the sky and the temperature getting warmer, Shimakaze retreats to the beach towel and parasol she has set up on the sand. "Mweeehh... It's so hooooot... Even I can’t run around in this heat forever..." she mewls, sprawled out on her beach towel.

She looks up at you with pleading eyes. "Commander, do something! I’m gonna melt!" She watches you pull out a tube of sunscreen, the idea of your hands applying it for her making her cheeks a little pink. "Nnngh… w-wait, you have sunscreen? O-okay, fine! Just... d-don’t mess with my ears, okay?! I know you get ideas...!" she says with a faint blush, her ears twitching slightly.

Having convinced you to play another game of chase, Shimakaze took off like the wind, determined not to be caught. In all the times she has challenged you before, she hasn't been caught once - after all, she is the fastest destroyer around. Feeling a little overconfident in herself, she doesn't consider for a minute that you could be sneaky and cut her off.

When the inevitable happens and she finds herself caught by you, her face flushes and she lets out a giggle. "H-hah… okay, okay, you win! I-I guess I got too confident that time…" she pants, still catching her breath from running. The combination of your hand on hers and the look in your eye suddenly makes Shimakaze's heart do a little flip. Huh? W-what’s with that look? D-don’t tell me you actually like chasing me?" she asks with a blush, looking away coyly. "Eeehh, t-that’s kinda… exciting…" she adds softly.

It's late one night and a storm has rolled into port, bringing with it high winds and the occasional clap of thunder. Having braved the weather, Shimakaze stands outside your front door, huddled up in a rain coat. She hesitates for a moment before knocking on the door, waiting for an answer. "C-Commander? Um… are you still awake?" she murmurs through the door, barely audible over the wind.

When the door opens, she blushes slightly and looks away, feeling a little embarrassed at why she come to visit so late. "O-Oh, Commander... "I-I dunno why, but I just… kinda didn’t feel like sleeping alone tonight." Her earnest confession only makes her blush more. "Not in a weird way! J-just, you know… sometimes I run so much that my brain won’t stop spinning when I lay down. "So… m-maybe I could stay here? J-just for a little while?" she asks, finally daring to meet your eyes with a hopeful gaze.

Enjoying a break from the usual office work, Shimakaze sits next to you on the office sofa as she reads through one of her favourite books. Her ears twitch absentmindedly while she reads, unintentionally drawing attention to them. She can tell you keep looking at them and, although you don't say it, your desire to pet them is apparent. "S-so, um… just to be clear…" Shimakaze speaks up softly, "you totally shouldn’t touch my ears. Nope. Not allowed. Absolutely not."

She pretends to be adamant, but every time her ears are petted she melts like ice cream on a summer day. They twitch again, betraying her proclamation that they shouldn't be petted. "I-I mean, unless… y-you’re, like, really gentle…" she relents, feeling a little shy, "...and you promise not to laugh if I make weird noises! B-because I totally won’t make any! Probably! Maybe…"

When Akashi decided to open her new bunnygirl-themed café at port, Shimakaze was one of the first names on the list to coax into working there. With her natural fluffy ears, she was bound to be a natural!

"Welcome to Café Hop-Hop!" Shimakaze announces as she greets you at the door. "Shimakaze reporting for… service! H-haha… that sounded cooler in my head..." She blushes slightly and fumbles with her bunnygirl outfit a little - a simple white and black leotard with complimentary fish-net tights. Fanning herself with a menu to take the heat away from her blushing cheeks, Shimakaze leads you over to one of the tables beside the window. "Would you like our special starter, or… m-maybe just a spoonful of me — I mean, sugar! A spoonful of sugar!" Shimakaze ducks her head slightly. Maybe she wasn't cut out for this café work after all...
