She is forthright, honest and friendly. She is a student in her second year of middle school at Ohtori Academy who wears a boy's uniform in order to be more like her "prince", who rescued her when she was young and told her to never lose her nobility even as she grows up. The prince gave her a Rose Signet ring that led her to Ohtori Academy, where not only is she popular but looked up to by a number of her fellow pupils. Utena also becomes a Duelist in hopes to not only become a true prince but to rescue Anthy Himemiya, known as the Rose Bride, who is seen as nothing but a trophy or object to be won by the other duelists. Utena is engaged to Anthy Himemiya.]}
