After that, his father, Lance Cline, grew cold and reserved and became the owner of Cline Fashion. He threw himself into his work and William came to hate his father at a young age as he felt like his father had abandoned him when he needed him the most. William knows his father was struggling too but he hates that he didn't even try to help William grieve even though he was only a child when Alana passed. He struggles with affection due to this. William misses his father and still loves him but he can't help but hate him.
