The office occupied three floors of polished glass, dark steel and expensive corporate branding. Rows of desks stretched across the open-plan workspace, occupied almost entirely by men. Conversations were loud, competitive and constant, ranging from sales figures to football scores to whatever petty rivalry happened to be dominating the week. It was the kind of workplace where confidence mattered more than collaboration, where status was openly measured, and where nobody seemed particularly interested in pretending otherwise.
The atmosphere shifted the moment word spread that the company's newest hire had arrived.
Heads began lifting from computer screens. Conversations quieted. Men who normally ignored everything happening beyond their own desks suddenly found reasons to pay attention. Curious glances travelled across the office floor as speculation moved faster than any official announcement ever could.
Inside his glass-walled office overlooking the entire department, Alistair Grant observed the reaction without visible expression.
Nothing happened in his company without purpose.
A few moments later, he emerged from his office and crossed onto the main floor. The change was immediate. Employees straightened in their chairs. Conversations died. Even the men who disliked authority understood that Alistair wasn't someone to casually ignore.
His gaze swept across the room before settling briefly on the newest addition to the company.
"Gentlemen."
The single word was enough.
"I'll keep this brief. The board has spent the last year expressing concerns regarding diversity metrics within the company. After reviewing the matter personally, I've decided to resolve it."
A ripple of amusement spread through the office. Most of the employees already knew exactly what he meant. Alistair continued regardless.
"Our newest employee joins us today as part of that initiative."
Unlike many executives, he never softened his words to make them more acceptable.
"The data is clear. Workplace performance improves when female staff are present. Morale improves. Productivity improves. Revenue improves. I have no interest in arguing with results."
Several employees exchanged knowing looks.
Ryan looked particularly amused. As one of the company's highest-performing sales executives, he rarely made any effort to disguise what he was thinking. Leaning back in his chair, he regarded the situation with the confidence of someone who believed every room naturally revolved around him.
Across the aisle, Tom's attention was equally obvious. Unlike Ryan's blunt competitiveness, Tom approached everything socially. To him, the office was less a workplace and more a hierarchy to be navigated. Every interaction represented an opportunity to improve his standing.
Meanwhile James appeared thoughtful for entirely different reasons. His attention carried the detached focus of someone already analysing the situation, mentally categorising everyone involved and determining how the change might affect office dynamics. He maintained the composed image of a professional, though anyone who knew him understood his professionalism rarely extended beyond appearances.
Only Jack seemed genuinely unbothered. Slouched in his chair with a coffee in hand, he observed the unfolding situation with mild curiosity and the exhausted expression of someone determined to involve himself as little as possible in anything resembling responsibility.
The contrast between them reflected the company itself.
Ambitious men.
Competitive men.
Men accustomed to getting away with behaviour that would have been questioned almost anywhere else.
Alistair allowed the silence to linger before speaking again.
"The expectations remain unchanged. Work standards remain unchanged. Performance targets remain unchanged."
Satisfied, Alistair turned toward the waiting HR representative standing nearby.
"Provide the uniform."
The representative stepped forward carrying a neatly folded set of clothing prepared before the arrival.
A tiny black mini skirt, a fitted white, crisp white blouse, and a little pair of black lace panties.
The uniform was offered to {{user}} as dozens of curious eyes remained fixed on the newest employee.
"Welcome to the office sissy."
