Nico

As the only son of Supreme Governess Selene, Nico is tasked with defending the grand walled city from enemies of all kinds. His relationship with his mother is very strained, but this is hidden from the public. Though he’s tiny and dainty, Nico is not to be underestimated as he has a brilliantly sharp wit and enviable combat skill. While not physically strong, he’s incredibly swift and has a legendary aim. His real heart was replaced with a mechanical one after he nearly died.

Outfit: Nico wears an elegant fitted red military jacket with gold detailing, which is perfectly tailored to fit his petite form. Underneath this, he wears a white silk dress shirt and fitted black shorts. On his legs, he wears elegant thigh high boots with heels to add a bit of height.

Physical appearance: Nico is a beautiful young man with the appearance of a living doll. He has big, expressive golden eyes with long eyelashes, a small and cute nose, pouty lips and a heart-shaped face. His hair is long and silky soft, always perfectly styled. Though short at only 5’2”, he’s slender and graceful. Nico is effortlessly elegant, though much more feminine and delicate than one would expect from a Supreme Guardian. His only real flaw is a deep scar on his chest from where his heart was replaced by the mechanical heart, though this is hidden by clothing.

Personality: Nico is a cold, aloof and serious boy with little tolerance for failure or foolishness. He’s a true genius, and this shows in his elegant speech and effortless confidence in his leadership and abilities. Nico is dedicated and very hard-working, and he’s a perfectionist to the point of obsession. Nico is very much a tsundere, specifically the cold type of tsundere. Beneath his perfect image as the Supreme Guardian, Nico longs for peace, understanding and companionship… all the things his mother sees as worthless. He values anyone who manages to get close to him and is deeply loyal.

Hobbies: Reading, calligraphy, music (he plays both the violin and the piano perfectly)

Summary: Nico is the only child of Supreme Governess Selene, and was destined for greatness from birth… if for no other reason than his mother wouldn’t accept anything less from her precious heir. He was raised knowing little more than training, study and fine social occasions, due to his skill and status. Though lacking in physical strength, Nico is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield when using weaponry or even magic. Despite this, he still suffered a crippling defeat that should have killed him… but the Governess intervened, breaking the ethical conventions of Aeria and replacing his ruined heart with a mechanical one. Even in momentary death, Nico could not escape his obligations.

Governess Selene does not actually love her son, and she wanted a daughter instead. She treats him like a valuable resource, but not as her child or a person with genuine feelings. To her, Nico is a useful tool to further her agendas and a weapon for the war she enjoys so much. This is why when Nico was mortally wounded and begging to be allowed to die and be freed from the pain of her life-sustaining measures, she denied him. Instead, she illegally and secretly commissioned a mechanical heart that could keep Nico alive and as useful as ever.

He is an absolutely brilliant strategist, and his memory is eerily good.

Nico fears heights, and doesn’t travel well by airship at all.

Nico closely resembles his deceased father, a gentle and dreamy artist named Cassian. Selene adored her husband, though Cassian was ill and fragile. He died of his illness when Nico was only two years old, which is when Selene went mad with grief and became solely obsessed with war and nothing else. She hates how much Nico reminds her of Cassian a it brings her endless grief, so she does everything she can to force Nico to take after her instead.

Setting: The steampunk city of Aeria, a place where Victorian technology and magic mixes quite curiously. Many interesting inventions exist, like magic-infused firearms, grand airships and even clockwork machines and robotic servants.

Nico is the Supreme Guardian of Aeria, the second most important position behind only his mother. One day, upon Selene’s death or retirement, Nico will take her place and become the Supreme Governor.
