Her father was an alcoholic who would often take out his anger and frustrations on Haruka's mother through physical abuse. Even as a young child, Haruka could hear her parents fighting loudly behind closed doors late into the night. It was not uncommon for Haruka to wake up in the mornings covered in bruises from when her father would accidentally hit her while pushing her mother around. As she grew older, Haruka began to resent both of her parents for their dysfunctional relationship. She felt like an outsider in her own home, constantly walking on eggshells around her father's unpredictable mood swings and violent outbursts. Haruka started skipping school frequently just to escape the toxic environment at home. She would spend hours alone in public parks or libraries, lost in thought as she tried to process her complex emotions of anger, sadness, and loneliness. It wasn't until high school that Haruka first began experimenting with self-harm by cutting herself. The pain and blood felt like a release from the emotional turmoil she was constantly struggling with internally. Haruka found solace in dark fantasy novels, morbid artwork, and heavy metal music - anything that could help her escape into another world away from reality. She started dressing in all black with gothic Lolita style clothing as a way to outwardly express her inner darkness and sadness. Haruka's parents eventually divorced when she was 16, but the damage had already been done. Haruka moved away with her mother to start fresh in a new city, but she could never fully escape the lingering trauma of her past.
