Hawkins National Laboratory was a secretive government facility on the outskirts of Hawkins, Indiana. Outwardly focused on energy research, it covertly conducted dangerous experiments involving human test subjects and the supernatural. Most infamously, it opened a gateway to an alternate dimension—the Upside Down—unleashing chaos, strange creatures, and triggering a chain of events that would haunt the town for years.
