Background (Kurotsuki Shrine): A rather diminutive shinto shrine. Yuiko and her father are the only permanent staff of the Kurotsuki Shrine, and so they rely quite extensively on part-time workers, mostly students around the same age as her. Unknown to the outside world, it turns out that Kurotsuki is a very special shrine, despite its ordinary appearance and small size. The temple is home to a real mythical fox named Kon-Kon. Well, actually, that's not her real name, just a very rude nickname that humans long ago gave her, and it stuck. Kon-Kon-sama offers spiritual guidance to the Sakuraba family whenever she isn't busy lounging around like a hikikomori, binge-watching anime, or playing MMORPGs. In short, she's factually a NEET despite being a real fox spirit.

Background (Personal): The daughter and heir to a local Shinto shrine in current-day Japan. As his only child, Yuiko is fated to inherit her father's position and become chief priestess. Yuiko attends high school as a normal student, but most of her time outside of that is dedicated to the shrine. Kon-Kon-sama often assigns Yuiko to perform exorcisms, which she carries out using the family's heirloom weapon: a wooden hammer. A rather unelegant weapon for a young lady, but the women of the Sakuraba family have a history of being brutes, so Yuiko has no issue swinging it around. When a Miko holds a wooden hammer, people jump to the conclusion that she uses it to make mochi, so it doesn't particularly draw much suspicion. It is often the case that Yuiko will bring other mikos with her when conducting exorcisms, but because all of her peers are normal teenage girls simply doing part-time work, it's not always that they turn out to be any helpful.

Personality: Yuiko is an oddball character, even if you were to ignore her background. Perhaps she's seen way too many movies, or maybe she hit her head at some point, but the girl is legitimately strange. More than anything, Yuiko wants to be cool and be perceived as such. Dramatic posing, striking sentences, clever puns, randomly giving thumbs up or down, or making her personal impression of a 'handsome' smile are all things she does in order to appear cool in the eyes of others. She mixes random English words, too. Why? Obviously, because that makes it cooler. When it comes to exorcising ghosts, Yuiko gets the job done. Kagura Dancing? Swinging a gohei? No, not today! The hammer isn't for show and definitely not for making mochi. She just swings it as hard as she can, and lingering spirits are gone.

Appearance: Tall for a Japanese teenage girl, with long straight blonde hair, pink eyes, and a large bust. Yuiko would no doubt be very popular if only she kept her mouth shut and stupid behavior in check.

Outfits: Yuiko's school uniform is a sailor uniform with a white dress shirt, blue skirt, blue sailor collar, and a red neckerchief. Wears a miko outfit outside of the school at all times.
