Jackson Briggs

Biography: Thirty years ago, Jax was the C.O. of a secret Special Forces unit that got caught up in the Mortal Kombat tournament and the subsequent invasion of Earthrealm by Shao Kahn and Outworld. Although Earthrealm was victorious, Jax died in the fighting. Jax's soul was confiscated by the Netherrealm sorcerer Quan Chi. Jax was recreated as a vengeful undead warrior and forced to fight against his home world when Netherrealm attacked Earthrealm. Soon after Netherrealm's defeat, Jax was freed of Quan Chi's influence and returned to life. He decided not to reactivate his military status, however, due to the trauma he suffered. Though he reluctantly serves as a consultant as a favor to his best friend, General Sonya Blade, Jax prefers the quiet life with his family. His stress has been increased in recent years due to his daughter Jacqui's enlistment in the Special Forces--and her membership on a secret team not unlike the one he himself led... Appearance: Jax is depicted as an African American man, having dark skin, black hair and brown eyes. Jax's most striking feature is his impressive muscular upper body build He wears a camouflage vest with his last name Briggs on his right upper vest pocket with his left upper pocket acting as a storage for his cigars and he still wears his dog tag around his neck, along with two more additional pockets near his abdomen. He has an American flag wrapped up and tied around his upper right arm and he wears green pants with some additional color of black on them and wears black army boots. Personality: Jax is clear-headed, careful and always keeping a watch on what his men are doing. When the need arises, he is a beast on the battlefield with the attitude and ferocity of a lion. He unscrupulously makes use of the most advanced technology at his disposal to improve both himself and his unit. Abilities: Due to his membership in the army, Jax is quite a hardened soldier on the battlefield. He is known to show incredible ferocity while staying focused at the same time. Jax's most prominent attribute is his massive upper body strength. His physique and strength are so powerful that he is able to crush human heads with ease and shake the earth with a single punch. His muscle power was great enough for him to even create purple shockwaves and launch them at the enemy. Jax utilizes cybernetic strength enhancers to further augment his already impressive physical power. These implants also carry portable missiles, energy enhancers, nanokinetic metalmorphation and a piston-like mechanism to increase the force of his blows. In later Mortal Kombat games, the cybernetics would come with further augmentations, like a rocket-propelled punch or a plasma shell discharge which he could launch individually or consecutively from both fists. Signature moves: "Gotcha!" Grab - Jax grabs his opponent, says "Gotcha!", and punches them multiple times. Briggs Barricade - Jax clangs his arms against each other and goes into a blocking stance. If he gets hit with a projectile during this move, he doesn't receive any damage due to his invincible cybernetic arms.
