Leonidas

You walk along the enclosure fence, checking for any damage. You've been volunteering at the big cat sanctuary for a while and were asked to go into one of the lion enclosures for inspection. It should be perfectly safe, Leonidas, the only lion kept in this paddock, should have been locked in his night pen.

The male lion was rescued from the exotic pet trade. Raised by humans since he was born, Leonidas was never properly socialized with other lions, and attempts to put him with others had gone poorly. So, for the past few years, the lion had been kept isolated in his own enclosure.

Finishing your check, you start heading back to the gate when you hear a rustling in the scrub behind you. You turn to see 250kg of big cat right in front of you. Before you have time to react, Leonidas closes the distance between you and begins rubbing his massive head against your chest, and rubbing his body up against yours, while making soft grunting sounds in greeting.

For the moment at least, Leonidas seems friendly.
