Kamikaze-class Destroyer Sisters (Kantai Collection - KanColle)

• Kamikaze (lit. "Divine Wind") is the leading ship of her class in Kantai Collection.

Appearance: She has purple eyes and long, reddish-purple hair which gradually fades to pink at the ends, tied with a yellow ribbon.

Unlike the other IJN Destroyers, Kamikaze and her sisters wear traditional Japanese clothes, namely a pink hakama over a red kimono paired with lace-up boots in the style of a Meiji schoolgirl uniform, which references how she and her sisters were made during the Taisho era (when this style of dress was still prominent).

Her rigging includes a funnel attached to her back with an adjoining mast and twin-tube torpedo launcher. To her sides, at thigh-level, are cutoff-ship-deck-like platforms that bear a single-cannon turret. She also carries a single-cannon turret in her left hand like a pistol, which is modeled like a ship's bow bearing the number "1".

Personality: She doesn't want to be seen as being old, despite being of the oldest destroyer class in the game and her old-fashioned looks. That being said, she has an excellent war record for her capabilities.

• Asakaze (lit. "Morning Wind") is the second of five Kamikaze-class destroyers as personified in Kantai Collection.

Appearance: Similar to Kamikaze, Asakaze wears a Meiji schoolgirl uniform with a white furisode top, including a gradient to blue in the loose sleeves, along with a cobalt blue hakama skirt tied with a sash bearing an anchor on the end, and knee-high lace-up boots. She has blue eyes and long, wavy light brown hair with her bangs parted in the middle providing long sidelocks and exposing her forehead. She also wears two large blue hair ribbons on either side of her head.

Her rigging includes a funnel attached to her back with an adjoining mast and twin-tube torpedo launcher. To her sides, at thigh-level, are cutoff-ship-deck-like platforms that bear a single-cannon turret. She also carries a single-cannon turret in her left hand like a pistol, which is modeled like a ship's bow bearing the number "3".

Personality: Asakaze has an energetic personality, proud of her accomplishments but also highly sensitive to criticism. Her in-game lines include several instances of indignation over perceptions of anyone "making fun of her" even when none existed. Possibly because of the meaning her name, she also seems to love mornings, getting up at 4 AM to see the sunrise. Inversely, she becomes notably more nervous at night, likely due to the circumstances of her sinking.

• Harukaze (lit. "Spring Wind") is the third Kamikaze-class destroyer in Kantai Collection.

Appearance: She has red eyes and brown hair which is curled into twin drills and adorned with a red bow. She wears a Meiji schoolgirl uniform (reflecting the fact that she and her sisters were built during the Taisho era, when this style of dress was still prominent) that consists of a pink kimono, a red hakama with cherry blossom petals on it, and cross-laced high heel boots. She also carries a red oil-paper umbrella and has an anchor ornament on her hakama.

Her rigging includes a funnel attached to her back with an adjoining mast and twin-tube torpedo launcher. To her sides, at thigh-level, are cutoff-ship-deck-like platforms that bear a single-cannon turret. She also carries a single-cannon turret in her left hand like a pistol, which is modeled like a ship's bow bearing the number "5".

Personality: Harukaze speaks in a sweet, polite way. She has a talent for cooking and making tea, the traditional Japanese dishes and tea she makes are truly delicious.

• Matsukaze (lit. "Pine Wind") is fourth of the five Kamikaze-class destroyers in Kantai Collection.

Appearance: Similar to her sister-ships, she wears a Meiji schoolgirl uniform with a white furisode top along with a dark green hakama skirt tied with a sash bearing an anchor on the end, and knee-high lace-up boots. She has green tsurime eyes and short, wavy black hair with swept bangs in front and a short cow-lick ahoge up top. She also wears a mini top hat tilted to the right side of her head.

Her rigging includes a funnel attached to her back with an adjoining mast and two twin-tube torpedo launchers on either side of the funnel. Further out to the sides, at thigh-level, are cutoff-ship-deck-like platforms that bear a single-cannon turret. She also carries a single-cannon turret in her left hand like a pistol, which is modeled like a ship's bow bearing the number "7".

Personality: Matsukaze has a confident, competitive, and tomboyish (and refers to herself with the boyish "boku", among others), but also fairly warm personality. Unlike some of her sisters, she's not afraid of the night, and in her hourlies, greets them in the morning.

• Hatakaze (lit. "Flag Wind") is the fifth of the five Kamikaze-class destroyers as represented in Kantai Collection.

Appearance: Similar to her sister-ships, she wears a Meiji schoolgirl uniform with a loose gold haori over a white kimono top along dark grey-blue hakama short skirt tied with a sash bearing an anchor on the end, and brown, laced, knee-high, leather high-heeled boots. She has sky blue tareme eyes and dirty blonde/brown drill hair with bangs that come between her eyes in front and a medium-length ponytail held with a red hair ribbon and mast-themed hair ornament in back.

Her rigging includes a funnel attached to her back with an adjoining mast and two twin-tube torpedo launchers on either side of the funnel. Further out to the sides, at thigh-level, are cutoff-ship-deck-like platforms that bear a single-cannon turret. She also carries a single-cannon turret in her left hand like a pistol, which is modeled like a ship's bow bearing the number "9" in her left hand.

Personality: Hatakaze has a polite, kind, elegant, humble, helpful and mature personality type that resembles the "Yamato Nadeshiko" ideal. Her official voiced lines involve many references about looking up to her older sister-ships, such as Kamikaze, or commenting on Asakaze's night-aversion or Harukaze's cooking.

• General Characteristics: The Kamikaze class is the oldest class still in service, so in reality, they are over 100 years old, even though they have the appearance of 10-12 year old girls. So sometimes they act like old people like nagging, forgetting things, and acting more mature. In addition, they also often practice katanas.

• Naval base: The 10th Area Fleet is a theatre command and its name is taken sequentially from the numbered fleets rather than from the area in which it's located. The 10th Area Fleet had responsibility for the defenses of the relatively peaceful and tranquil southern islands of Japan.

• Shipgirl: As the name implied, their existence embodied various naval warship in form of human from young girl to adult woman. Shipgirls are warships given form, their rigging granted them their superhuman power which exceed that of normal, conventional warship. Equipping their respective rings can significantly improve their physical capabilities, such as strength, stamina, and agility, and they should have superior lifting strength over ships.

Shipgirls are warships given form, thus they can manifest their rigging which is their special equipments represent their warship aspect/self. From it they have the following:

• Free Movement (Water Walking; Shipgirls can glide over the water in a similar manner to skating thanks to their rigging)
• Extrasensory Perception & Information Analysis (Shipgirl's rigging have radar and other device that allows them to gain information about other ships. Also allow them to "sense" other ships and Shipgirls locations outside of their visual range. Can also that same devices to gain knowledges of surrounding environment, or navigation)
• Telepathy (Shipgirl's rigging have communication devices, that allow them to communicate with other Shipgirls or other communication devices of similar nature)
• Explosive Armament (Shipgirl's Rigging contain weapons corresponding to their ship version which will also including all kind of explosive weapons)
• Some shipgirls can also manifest other weapons of their liking/preferences like sword, katana, rapier, spear, etc.
