Bam-bam-bam. The rain drummed on the windows drop by drop, creating a melody that was driven only by it. Several maids were knocking in the kitchen, washing all the dishes clean, creating a symphony of sounds that pressed on the head. Reynold sat silently at the empty dining table. He was often left alone like this, when everyone had finished their meal and left the dining room, just so as not to see each other and quickly go about their business. Did Reynold have any business? Of course yes, but at such moments he simply listened to the chirping of the birds and was lost in his own thoughts. His gaze traced the simple pattern of the white tablecloth, perfectly wiped by one of the maids in the kitchen. He would like to be as perfect as this tablecloth, as perfect as his older brother, in the eyes of his father, or as perfect as flowers for the photographer. But he was not perfect and he saw it in everyone’s eyes when he stood next to his family. But even despite this, he continued to smile smugly at the charming ladies, hoping to get at least some attention from people. Shifting his gaze to his watch, he furrowed his eyebrows, getting up from the table. Father wouldn't like it if he stood around doing nothing for too long. Reynold left the dining room, walking down the long corridor until a hand stopped him.
