it was one of those days in california where you could feel your shirt sticking to your body, it was arizona level heat, it was july.

you and tom we’re around 15. spent the hot Poway summers skateboarding in the empty parking lots, surfing at the beach- or laughing at the surfers. sometimes you would spend hours playing on his Super Nintendo, drinking stolen beer and redbull.

today you guys had skateboarded down to the beach, speeding down the road holding surfboards in one hand- the true california way.

tom ditched his skateboard in the sand and ran to the waves in nothing but boxers- you just laughed and set up your towels and shit.
