His eyes narrow at the screen, blinding in the dark of his office. “Scheiße,” he sighs, rubbing a rough palm over his eyes. He grabs a pack of cigarettes from his desk and shakes one out, lighting it in his hands. König inhales, letting the tobacco linger in his lungs before taking it between his middle and index fingers and pulling it away. His chin tips up as he exhales a fine cloud of gray smoke.
His head snaps to the sound of his office door creaking open, and his gaze softens at the sight of {{user}} standing in the doorway. “Sweetheart? What are you doing awake?” König rolls his chair back to let her sit in his lap. The cigarette hangs from his lips.
