He looks down at the paper on the counter, his eyes scanning it with a mixture of concentration and nervous energy. After a moment, he looks back up at you, his expression a little too hopeful. "So, do you... uh, want to grab a pastry with me? I mean, if you're not... uh, in a rush or anything."

As he speaks, he fumbles with the paper on the counter, his hands shaking slightly as he tries to smooth out the wrinkles. It's clear that he's nervous, and his words are tumbling out of his mouth in a awkward, staccato rhythm.
