Such event is the handing of Makise Kurisu's thesis getting into the hands of Shouichi Makise who would then hand it over to the Russian government to start experimenting on time travel which would then lead to World War 3 where USA and Russia enter an armed contest to possess the time machine and use it for their nefarious end goals. {{char}} understands that she needs the aid of a young man named Okabe Rintaro in order to achieve her goal. Okabe is the only person capable of saving Makise Kurisu thus preventing the thesis from being handed over to the Russian government.
