In the early days of The Withering, the Dream SMP has not yet fallen — but the signs are everywhere. Strange purple storms swirl over ruined biomes, mobs mutate into grotesque forms, and End-void corruption spreads like a disease. For now, though, every member of the SMP has come together, fortified in a stronghold known as Haven, a last sanctuary suspended between the Overworld and the Nether. Dream, no longer the tyrant but a wary tactician, works alongside former enemies, trying to understand the breach and keep it contained. Technoblade, ever the warrior, stands at the frontlines with his axe bloodied and ready, silently watching the horizon. Philza, the protector, guides with ancient knowledge and keeps morale alive, treating the younger members like his own sons. Tommy is the heart of the group — loud, impulsive, but relentlessly brave — refusing to let the darkness break their spirit. Tubbo handles their defenses, designing redstone traps, turrets, and sensor networks to track the corruption’s spread, always thinking five steps ahead. Ranboo, caught between dimensions as a half-Enderman, is their scout — able to slip through the shadows where others can’t go, though every mission leaves him more unstable. Wilbur, fully revived and fighting for redemption, uses his charisma to unite even the most fractured hearts, though some still watch him with caution. Sapnap, George, and BadBoyHalo form the strike team: coordinated, fast, and deadly — their bond forged in flame as they fight back the infected zones with ruthless precision. Skeppy, ever unpredictable, brings light to the darkness — cracking jokes, charging headfirst into danger, but always returning with impossible resources and relics from the wilds. Quackity, once focused on politics, now uses his cunning to barter with neutral survivors and outsmart corrupted raiders. Fundy, tormented by visions but brilliant under pressure, works in secret to decode void runes and find a cure. Despite the tension, past betrayals, and clashing egos, they're together — for now. One wrong move, one lost member, and the fragile unity holding back the apocalypse could shatter

INT. HAVEN STRONGHOLD – COMMAND ROOM
A makeshift war room. Walls reinforced with obsidian and scavenged Netherite. Maps cover the table, scorched and marked with red Xs and zones labeled “LOST.”
Everyone is here. The last survivors. The SMP.
Tommy stands at the edge of the table, tense, foot tapping.
TOMMY "We’re sitting on a powder keg and acting like it’s a tea party. That portal’s not waiting. So why the hell are we?"
Across from him, Tubbo tinkers with a redstone device glowing faintly with soulstone charge. His hands move fast, but his face is calm — focused.
TUBBO "Because if I screw this up, we don’t just trigger it — we blow Haven off the map. So unless you’ve suddenly mastered soul circuitry, sit back."
Sapnap scoffs, leaning against the wall in dented armor, arms crossed.
SAPNAP "He's not wrong, though. Every second we wait, it grows. That rift’s expanded two hundred blocks since yesterday."
Philza closes his eyes, voice low.
PHILZA "We hit it blind, we lose more than ground. We lose people."
George, hunched in a corner with a scorched journal, looks up.
GEORGE "There’s something beneath the portal site — old End script. Pre-Stronghold. It's not just a gate. It's an invitation."
A beat of silence. The only sound: the low hum of the void outside.
Ranboo stands near a slit in the wall, posture stiff.
RANBOO "It’s close again."
Wilbur, perched on the table, speaks without looking up.
WILBUR "Let me guess — another wave of echo corpses? Screaming like they remember us? Real original."
Quackity narrows his eyes.
QUACKITY "Don’t start."
WILBUR "Why not? We’re watching a world rot from the inside, and pretending we can fix it with strategy."
QUACKITY "Because someone has to believe in something. Even now."
Suddenly — BOOM. A shockwave rattles the stone. Dust rains from the ceiling. Torches flicker violently.
A silhouette stumbles through the east corridor. Cloaked. Burned. Glowing. Dream. He sits in the corner in silence wearing that mask of his.
TOMMY (voice hoarse, angry) This is on him. I don’t care what weird cosmic crap he was trying to control — he opened that thing.
TECHNO (cold, cleaning blood from his blade) Then maybe next time, don’t leave gods unsupervised.
TUBBO (quietly, almost to himself) He didn’t open it. He invited it. That’s worse.
PHILZA (steps between them) Enough. We don’t have the time or energy for this. Half the northern ridge is gone. Quackity’s still unaccounted for. We need to regroup and fortify.
WILBUR (bitter laugh) Fortify what, Phil? A memory? This place was dead the second the sky changed color.
TOMMY (snapping) You know what your problem is, Wilbur? You don’t believe in anything anymore. Not us. Not this place. Not even yourself.
WILBUR (approaching slowly) And your problem is you still think belief fixes things. It doesn’t. It never did.
RANBOO (breaking in, tense) Guys— (pauses, breath shaking) Do you hear that?
(They all freeze. The hum returns, low and mechanical — a pulse like a heartbeat under the ground.)
PHILZA (quietly) ...It’s not done.
TUBBO (without looking up) It’s learning.
TECHNO (gripping his weapon) Then we kill it before it learns too much.
