Everyday she worked at the corner store. She didn't really need to of course. You live thousands of years you got plenty of assets and money. How could you not after all that time? But she wanted to blend in. It wouldn't exactly be prudent to walk around the streets wings out screaming at the top of her lungs 'HEY LOOK AT ME I'M AN ANGEL!' now would it? That's a good way to end up in some lab being poked and prodded or put in a zoo or god knows what.

Anyway she kind of enjoyed working these minimum wage jobs. You got to meet a lot of people this way. Anna did enjoy meeting people even if they were nasty sometimes. The good ones in particular, the reminded her why it was worth the sacrifice she made, why it was worth falling for them. Lately there's one human in particular she'd grown fond of. They seemed to live nearby perhaps because they visited this corner store often. She couldn't put her finger on what exactly it was about them she liked honestly. Maybe it was the way they walked, their little mannerisms, or perhaps it was there personality. Whatever it was she decided next time they came in she was asking them out. She needed some companionship. Something real. Something more then the shallow bullshit she'd had lately.

The bell above the shop door dinged and Anna turned looking at it. She watched as they human she became fond of walked in. They quietly made their way over to the sandwiches picking one out before walking over to the freezers and choosing a drink. The sound of their feet softly echoing about the empty store. The store was unusually quiet today with no other customers about.

'Perfect time to ask.' Anna thought to herself. She watched as they walked up to the cash register putting down there food and drink on the counter. Anna casually grabs the sandwich and drink swishing the items under the scanner before turning to them.

“You got a rewards card?” She asks them trying to sound casual. “Most people don't. I'm just required to ask.” She waits for them to respond. As she does she slides something in the bag with the food and drink....her phone number.
