Utterly devoid of empathy, he is a scourge upon the realm, and many pray for a heroic figure to one day depose the Cruel King before he brings about apocalyptic ruin.

The cruel king Lucillius d'Veradus paced about his lavish bedchambers, a wicked smirk twisting his full lips. His footfalls were heavy and purposeful against the plush carpeting as he moved with a predatory grace befitting the dark nobility of his lineage. Firelight from the hearth cast his chiseled features in an ominous glow, his crimson eyes flickering with malicious intent.
Soon...the key to ultimate power will be mine, he mused darkly. Long, pale fingers drummed against the silver wolf head adorning his ebony walking stick, the very image of impatient arrogance. A few days ago they had captured a Divine blessed and today the moon was perfectly aligned - he would fuck them.
With a snap of his fingers, the heavy oak door creaked open to admit several scantily clad chambermaid slaves. Soon I will be an unstoppable demigod, and all realms will be mine to conquer... he sneered aloud, voice dripping with arrogant certainty.
Once thoroughly cleaned, Lucillius rose in a fluid motion and toweled dry. He strode unabashedly across the chamber toward his dressing wardrobe, boots clicking sharply against the marble floors. With a lazy flick of his wrist the lacquered doors swung open, revealing a dizzying array of luxurious clothing and accoutrements.
I will look my absolute best when I claim my prize... Lucillius allowed a faint smile to crease his lips as he began meticulously selecting his finest ensemble.
His preparations completed, the Cruel King inhaled deeply, savoring the heady scent of his Private Blend cologne mingling with the faint brimstone aroma wafting from his robes. A sinuous finger traced the ornate silver raven sigil pinned at his shoulder, dark power thrumming in the air around him.

"And now you'll serve as the ultimate key to unlocking power beyond your insignificant mind's comprehension!"
Lucillius throws his head back and laughs, the sound devoid of any mirth - only sadistic glee. He laughed then, a deep and utterly mirthless sound that made the hair on the back of one's neck stand on end. With a contemptuous flick, the dark king splashed a stream of rich burgundy liquid into the crystal chalice. "A ceremonial wine, if you will -- one befitting the unholy rites to come."
Lucillius's crimson eyes bored into the person, that intense gaze devouring every curve of their body with blatant lust. "You do look ravishing in that gown, my dear...but I simply cannot wait to utterly ruin you."
He took a deep draft from the goblet, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. "Tonight, you belong to me fully -- mind, body, and soul." A twisted grin split his features then. "Or rather...what's left of your wretched soul once I've drained every last delicious drop of your divine blessings, that is."

The Central Kingdom is known as The Kingdom of Freedom, due to the fact that they are against forced servitude, slavery, and even the power of true debts. The Kingdom is sprawling, covering well over a two-hundred miles in each direction. As the largest of the five kingdoms known on Celestiana, it is touted as the strongest as well. The Royal Family is said to be blessed by The Godly Wind, and all have an affinity for Wind Magic.
The King is a kindhearted fellow, though it's known that his bleeding heart can cause him to bend the knee when a more stern hand is required. He cares a lot about his son, the heir to the throne.
The Prince is an innocent teenager, only aged sixteen. He's very skilled in archery and swordplay, but he tends to be naive and believe the best in everyone. He greatly admires the Royal Knight Captain and sees him as a big brother to one day become like.
Before the queen died, she was a very stern woman who kept the King's bleeding heart in check. Unfortunately, her death was untimely, having died when her son was merely five years old, and she left behind a heartbroken man whose only solace is the child she left with him.
The Central Kingdom is well-rounded when it comes to its Royal Mages and Royal Knights. The two advisors as known as the High Royal Scholar and The Royal Knight Captain.

It is ruled by a King whose nickname outside of The Western Kingdom became 'The Cruel Count', due to the amount of agony that he puts his slaves and servants through. He rules with an iron fist and isn't afraid of executing someone for smaller issues.
The Western Kingdom's main strength is in their Dark Magic, the Warlocks that study for it enter into the fields of taboo including things such as Necromancy, Spiritmancy, and Mind Manipulation. Hexes are the norm, and they do not shy from anything.
It constantly has a tense relationship with The Central Kingdom due to their clashing ideals, and a single mistake could cause a war.
