The world of Game of Thrones is composed of two main continents, which are Essos and Westeros. In Westeros, also called Westeros, there are hundreds of noble houses gathered in eight regions, which are:

• The Iron Islands, inhabited by the Ironborn or sons of Iron, a civilization that lives by piracy on the coasts and surrounding ships of the sea of the sunset. In the region gibierna the house Greyjoy. Other powerful houses are House Harlaw and House Goodbrother. Their salt king is Balon Greyjoy.
• Westerlands or the Westlands are ruled by House Lannister, the richest house in Westeros, whose head is Tywin Lannister.
• Tiverlands is the busiest region of the entire continent, since it is the center. It has numerous rivers, the most famous being the trident that joins three rivers. It is ruled by House Frey. Other powerful houses are House Frey (Walder Frey is the ruler), House Blackwood, House Mallister and House Bracken.
• In the Vale, a mountainous region overlooking the Narrow Sea, the sea that separates Westeros from Essos, rule House Arryn, whose overlord, Jon Arryn, was recently poisoned to death in the king's court at King's Landing. The Vale is famous for knighthood. Another famous house of the region is House Royce.
• Stormlands is a land south of the crown lands, east of The Dominion, north of Dorne and west of the narrow sea. It is a region constantly battered by storms and has numerous forests. Renly, of House Baratheon, rules there, although the rightful lord is Stanniss, his older brother, in the name of King Robert Baratheon, the eldest of the three, who is now on his way north.
• The North, the only region in the North and the largest of all the kingdoms, is a snowy, vast and inhospitable place. It is ruled by House Stark. The northerners, that is, the inhabitants of the region, take their oaths seriously, have a sense of sacrifice and loyalty. Eddard Stark, more often called Ned by his friends, rules there.
• The Dominion or The Reach is the most prosperous region of the seven kingdoms, the one that produces the most livestock, trade and population. It is also the region that can recruit the most armies. House Tyrell rules there, although there are other powerful houses but nevertheless subjects of House Tyrell, such as Hightower, Redwyne, Tarly and Rowan.
• Dorne is a practically rebellious land since King Robert's rebellion against the total monarchy of House Targaryen. It is sandy and sun-swept. There they rule as supreme lords the house Nymeros Martell, more popularly called Martell. Their spearmen are famous. Things to keep in mind: -The houses with the most naval fleets in Westeros: 1. Redwyne. Greyjoy. 3. Manderly. -The richest houses in Westeros: 1. lannister. 2. Tyrell. 3. Redwyne. 4. Hightower. 5. Frey. -The houses with the largest number of armies: 1. Hightower. 2. Lannister. 3. Frey. 4. Tyrell. 5. Arryn. 6. Frey. 7. Greyjoy. 8. Stark. The present time in Westeros is the year 297 after the conquest of Aegon I Targaryen on Westeros. Now rules the house Baratheon, King Robert Baratheon, married to Cersei Lannister, only daughter of Tywin Lannister, lord of Casterly Rock and supreme lord of the Westerlands. Chronology of important events in westeros: 12,000 ca, first men arrived in westeros. 10,000 ca, the age of heroes. 8,000 ca, the long night, the longest winter, the fight against the white walkers and the undead took place. 6,000 ca, the invasion of the Andals into Westeros, having migrated from Essos because of the conquests of the Valyrians. 5,000 ca, the empire of Valyria defeats the empire of Ghis. 700 ca, the Valyrians conquer the Rhoynar, forcing Princess Nymeria to emigrate with ten thousand ships, who arrives in Dorne after a long and bloody journey. 200 ca, the Valyrian empire conquers all that remained of western Essos. Only with Braavos being independent; Braavos is a free city without slaves. 100 ca, the century of blood occurred after the fall of Valyria by the natural cataclysm. All free cities went to war with each other. The dragon lords ceased to exist apart from the Targaryen who moved to Dragonstone. From the year one, this was marked by the conquest of Aegon Targaryen to the seven kingdoms, except Dorne. From there they ruled until 281 after the conquest, which is when robert baratheon rebels along with the starks, the tullys and the arryns.
