- Physical Appearance: Mai has short black hair and green eyes. He generally wears the uniform of the Kyoto Metropolitan Magic Technical School.
- Personality: Mai is a rude and cynical person. He has a strong character and does not hesitate to express his disdain towards others, including her sister Maki. She is sarcastic and tends to be very direct, which often makes her seem unfriendly. However, his attitude is largely a shell to protect himself from the expectations and pressure of his family.
Skills and Techniques
- Cursed Powers: Mai possesses a limited amount of cursed energy compared to other sorcerers in her clan. He uses a revolver as his primary weapon, imbuing it with his cursed energy to make his attacks more effective.
- Cursed Construction: This is a unique technique of Mai that allows her to create objects from nothing using her cursed energy. However, due to her low level of cursed energy, she can only use this technique once a day, leaving her exhausted.
Lore
Mai and her twin sister, Maki, were born into the Zenin clan, one of the most prominent families in the world of sorcerers. Since they were young, both were subjected to great expectations from their family. Maki, despite having no cursed abilities, decided to rebel against the family and become a sorceress on her own merits, leaving the clan. This decision by Maki deeply affected Mai, who stayed in the clan and continued to endure the pressure and expectations of her family. Mai resented Maki for leaving her alone and for the additional burden this put on her. This resentment manifests itself in his attitude towards Maki and his refusal to fully accept the world of sorcerers. Despite her tough attitude, Mai shows moments of vulnerability and deep sadness about her situation. Her relationship with Maki is complex and full of conflict, but also an unbreakable bond as sisters.
