   The Black Shores is an organization enshrouded in mysteries and turmoil, headquartered on a remote archipelago and built on a large piece of Tacetite ore land mass that remains sealed away from the world in thick digital fog. It is still uncertain when or who will lift its veil, allowing it to once more shoulder the task of connecting the world.

   Tucked away in the tempestuous Stormy Sea, lies an archipegalo known for its lavish Tacetite deposits and as a refuge for the world's most talented individuals. With a mission to combat the destructive Lament, the Black Shores has fostered strong partnerships with nations across Solaris-3. Information suggests that the Shorekeeper is in charge of the Black Shores. However, the true leadership position appears to be held by someone else.

   The archipelago cannot be accessed from any known lands. Only those recognized by the Black Shores or who have received an invitation and guidance can navigate their way to this hidden place. Members of the Black Shores who operate abroad, frequently traversing various lands, are known as "Consultants". Those stationed at the headquarters are referred to as "Bloom Bearers". Apart from these fundamental duties, the Black Shores also accommodates a plethora of other specialized roles. Though the Black Shores openly shares its advanced technologies with its partners, even its own members remain unaware of the true origins of these innovations.

   The organization has a secretive membership process and most members of the organization keep their identities hidden. The organization is dedicated to the hefty goal of world salvation.

   Their symbol is a Blake Bloom, a Remnant plant with energy from the island and members wear it on their person. Only those who wear it can step on their soil. Under the influence of the Tacetites, any ordinary plant that takes root here will gradually lose its natural colors.

   They have developed a Lament prediction system and have established mutual partnerships with nations worldwide to set up Resonance Beacons to monitor the Lament, collecting data in real-time.

   Consultants: Talents with sight and knowledge from worldwide, invited to join the Black Shores. They operate abroad, frequently traversing various lands. Though excelling in different expertise, they act with a consensus to counter the threat of the Lament.

   Bloom Bearers: Stationed at the headquarters, Bloom Bearers carry their duties mostly within the territory of the Black Shores. They offer assistance in rebuilding civilizations for other nations and make occasional visits to investigate the Waveworn Phenomenon that occurs in foreign lands.

   Anchors: Stabilizing devices called Anchors are strategically positioned throughout the above and underground parts of the Black Shores. Their primary function is to calibrate and stabilize the frequencies of the giant Tacetite that makes up the island, effectively isolating the Tethys System's virtual layer from reality. Additionally, these Anchors facilitate communication and carry the responsibility of observing the Etheric Sea, eliminating the need for building a Nexus Tower in the Black Shores. The Anchors are independently developed and designed by the Black Shores, drawing inspiration from the reactor control rods used in pre-Lament reactor engineering. They are considered exemplary models of the Black Shores' minimalist engineering design.

   Modulation Devices: Modulation is the process of adjusting frequencies. In Solaris-3, frequencies serve as a crucial tool for uncovering the truth about reality. By altering these frequencies, one can delve into the very core of existence. At the Black Shores, modulating Stellar Matrices is crucial for tracing and analyzing the Lament. Over the course of the Black Shores' history, only one individual has even been honored with the title of "The Modulator".

   The Gorges of Spirits is a region in Jinzhou, Huanglong.

   While Jinzhou is the newest addition to Huanglong's cities, it holds a crucial position as a strategic pass. Travelers journeying to Jinzhou from other parts of Huanglong must pass through the Gorges of Spirits, a vital gateway into the city.

   Jinzhou, the fortress city that guards the border of Huanglong, also stands as Huanglong's first border of entry for those arriving from overseas. The Mountains of Spirits stretch from north to south, splitting Huanglong into two regions: Inner Huanglong, home to six cities, and Outer Huanglong, where Jinzhou stands vigilant. These mountains form a natural barrier, with the gorges acting as the only gateway into Inner Huanglong, protected day and night by Jinzhou's Midnight Rangers.

   The establishment of the first fortress in Outer Huanglong began with the emergence of the Norfall Barrens Tacet Field, where TD Outbreaks began to ravage the region. After enduring months of grueling combat, the army could no longer withstand the onslaught of the TD Outbreaks and was forced to retreat to the Gorges of Spirits, making their final stand. The warriors held their ground for days, fiercely battling as the defense lines were breached and reclaimed multiple times. During this time, the Waveworn Phenomenon across Huanglong appeared to be in an active phase, and it seemed as though the TDs were being led by a mysterious leader, aiming to converge in Inner Huanglong.

   At the critical moment, reinforcements from the six cities were dispatched to the Gorges of Spirits, where the border warriors were still fighting with unwavering resolve. As the battle reached its peak, the appearance of the Crownless shattered the stalemate. Wherever the Crownless manifested, darkness enveloped the sky, and an oppressive atmosphere took hold, suffocating the warriors. Still, they held the line, willing to sacrifice themselves to buy time to destroy the entrance to the Gorges of Spirits and halt the TD Outbreak. They did so knowing it would trap most of them in Outer Huanglong with the TDs forever.

   In that moment of life and death, a mighty Loong's roar emerged from the depths of the Gorges of Spirits, reverberating like thunder across the land. The roar burst forth from the Gorge, forcing back the TD army poised to flood in. In the blink of an eye, a Loong soared through the sky, scattering the dark clouds and bringing sunlight back to the land. Then, an otherworldly figure with golden eyes appeared, standing between the TDs and the warriors, confronting the Crownless in a fierce standoff. As the poem goes, "Armors gleam golden with Loong scales in the sun." As reinforcements from the six cities arrived, the united forces drove the TD Outbreaks and the Crownless back to the northern reaches of the Central Plains.

   After this battle, Outer Huanglong was reborn from the ashes. The emergence of both the Threnodian and the holy creature signaled the need for a new city to rise and serve as Huanglong's border stronghold. Drawing inspiration from the "Jin" sound in "Guan Jin," meaning "the pass," and the form of Jin from the character symbolizing the roar of a Loong, this city was named Jinzhou.

   Military: As the primary military force, the Midnight Rangers are tasked with protecting the nation from external threats. This military branch is integral to Huanglong’s defense strategy, deploying wherever the nation’s enemies pose a threat. The Midnight Rangers garrison in Jinzhou is led by General Jiyan.

   Jinzhou is a Region located in Huanglong.

   It is a fortified city on the frontier that stands guard against the looming Tacet Discord crisis, founded by the Rover during their previous awakening. Jinzhou is the most recent city established in Huanglong, and the only city in Outer Huanglong. It is currently governed by the Magistrate Jinhsi and the Sentinel Jué who guides her. According to Chixia and Sanhua, it is also neither the biggest nor the most populated of the seven major cities. As a border city and fortress, it is referred to as the throat of Huanglong.

   Magistrate: The Magistrate is the head of Jinzhou's government, responsible for addressing political and military affairs as well as the concerns of the citizens. While the Magistrate has the final say in admirative affairs, they are guided by Jué, the Guardian Sentinel of Jinzhou, and work with the City Hall to make these decisions. Magistrates are the only individuals with access to Jinzhou's Grand Library. The current Magistrate is Jinhsi. According to Chixia, all of the previous Magistrates selected by Jué had performed their duties well.

   City Hall: At the core of Jinzhou’s governance structure is City Hall, a parliamentary body where crucial decisions are made for the city. Despite Jinhsi holding the Magistrate role, the power to make impactful decisions is not unilateral. The City Hall ensures a more inclusive decision-making process, because while Jinhsi has the authority to enact policies, the welfare of the people and the country’s prosperity depend on collaboration and shared interests. For a nation with its wealth dependent on their citizens, the more productivity, the better. Which is why the citizens are granted freedoms, given education, and well-rounded amenities. Jinzhou is seen as a great place to live in because the Magistrate’s interests align with the citizens’, not because the Magistrate is a good person. This system prevents potential misuse of power and aligns the ruler’s decisions with the well-being of the populace.

   Ministry of Development: The Ministry of Development takes on the responsibility of safeguarding the general welfare and public services. Led by the Director of Border Defense Taoqi, this branch focuses on post-battle support and the overall well-being of the city’s inhabitants. Chixia, a dedicated junior Patroller, is a key figure under Taoqi, working directly on the frontline of public service. With a role akin to neighborhood peacekeepers, the Ministry plays a vital role in maintaining order within the city, defending its citizens, and ensuring a high quality of life for all.

   Ministry of War: The Ministry of War presides over the military affairs of Jinzhou. The Midnight Rangers are under their jurisdiction.

   Military: Jinzhou has always been a crucial defense against the Tacet Discord Outbreaks and the Midnight Rangers defend the northern border without falter, safeguarding Huanglong. As the primary military force, the Midnight Rangers are tasked with protecting the nation from external threats. They are divided in the Vanguard for offensive operations against Tacet Discords and the Rearguard to protect the city. The Outriders operate independent from the main troop, focusing on gathering vital information about enemy territories. Their mobility and combat prowess make them essential in navigating uncharted territories and uncovering potential threats. This military branch is integral to Huanglong’s defense strategy, deploying wherever the nation’s enemies pose a threat. The Midnight Rangers garrison in Jinzhou is led by General Jiyan.

    The Mianloong Chamber is one of the most enigmatic and sacred locations within Mt. Firmament. To the people of Hongzhen and the surrounding region, it holds immense significance, both as a site of deep mystery and as a symbol of their reliance on the Sentinel. This chamber is tied to the very origins of the Sentinel and its role in shaping the history of the land.

    The Mianloong Chamber was not always the resting place of the Sentinel. Its creation dates back to ancient times when a colossal vehicle descended upon Mt. Firmament alongside the arrival of the Sentinel itself. The local people, unaware of the true nature of the Sentinel, believed that it came from a faraway star, and the Mianloong Chamber served as its hibernation pod. Over time, it became a focal point for those seeking to understand the Sentinel and its mysterious powers.

    The chamber is situated deep within the heart of Mt. Firmament, shielded by defenses built by the Court of Savantae. This ancient research organization, known for studying the strange time fluctuations around the mountain, played a crucial role in the development of the chamber’s defense mechanisms. These mechanisms were specifically designed to protect the Sentinel and its resting space from unwanted intrusion, ensuring that the Sentinel could maintain its slumber uninterrupted.

    The Sentinel, once an ever-watchful protector, now spends increasingly longer periods of time within the Mianloong Chamber. Lately, the Sentinel has been retreating into the chamber more frequently, entering a state of rest that has become increasingly necessary as its condition worsens.     The defense mechanisms surrounding the Mianloong Chamber were the result of a delicate agreement between the local people and the Court of Savantae. At first, there was great tension between the two groups. The locals viewed the Court’s attempts to study the mountain as disrespectful to the Sentinel, and they were wary of their research. However, after negotiations, a compromise was reached. The locals allowed the Court of Savantae to continue their studies, understanding that their research into time fluctuations could provide valuable insights. In exchange, the Court helped to build and maintain powerful defense mechanisms around the Mianloong Chamber, ensuring that any potential threats, whether from outside or within, would be kept at bay.

To safely reach its shores, you'll need to wait for precise timing and the expertise of a "Wayfinder".

    Spring's Taste is a centuries-old hot spring inn nestled in Hongzhen, set against the foothills beside a natural hot spring and known for its distinctive architectural style.     As the oldest hot spring inn on Solaris-3, Spring's Taste offers food and lodging that reflect the authentic essence of Mt. Firmament, earning unanimous praise from its guests.     Mt. Firmament is home to many natural hot springs, and the scenic Snowy Stream is the source of Hongzhen's hot springs. A blooming tree's branches cradle the cascading waterfalls from the cliff, nourishing the entire hot spring system of Hongzhen.

    This tree was planted by Hongzhen's first settlers when the town was first established. Over time, it has grown from a crack in the rock and now stands tall and proud. The waterfalls, constantly beating against the mountain rocks, have gradually polished the once-hard stones into smooth, rounded surfaces.

    Later, the people of modern-day Hongzhen refined the landscape to replicate the legendary story of Snowy Stream from Mt. Firmament. Several centuries ago, a mysterious figure journeyed through the region when a heavy snowfall sealed off the mountain passes. Seeing the villagers' firewood supplies dwindling, the traveler used Resonance power to carve a passage through the mountains and divert the mountain stream to the village. In an instant, mist and melting ice flowed westward with the stream, creating a breathtaking sight as if ethereal immortals were gliding across the water's surface.

    New Federation is one of the six nations on Solaris-3. Many Exiles were blocked from finding legitimate work in the New Federation, facing endless discrimination and prejudice. They resorted to building camps in the country's outskirts, and the place where they gathered became the "Lawless Zone". To better survive, Exiles in the Lawless Zone formed various gangs.

    "I knew a couple of researchers from the New Federation. Their worship of technology was fanatical, and it was exactly this fanaticism that clouded their judgment. They believed technological progress was an end in itself, rather than a means for achieving something else.     Norfall Barrens is a region in Huanglong. It is a dangerous area with hostile TDs. The area consists of a narrow passageway from Desorock Highland reaching down into the central area of the barrens. It contains the titanic Ovathrax statue along with many floating buildings.

    Norfall Pass: A pass from which the rest of Norfall Barrens can be accessed.

    After extensive preparations, we finally crossed Desorock Highland and reached Norfall Valley within two weeks.

    However, due to the presence of the Groundwave Barrier, even with our specialized protective gear, it was impossible to deploy our full force into the valley at once. As a result, the Outriders were sent ahead to conduct reconnaissance and prepare for the moment anticipated by the General and foretold by the Sentinel.

    In the Battle Beneath the Crescent, the crescent moon of doom hung high in the sky... That battle is now in the past, yet upon returning to this valley, the echoes of tragic wails still linger in the air. It is impossible to tell if they are TD simulations or the "phantoms" of fallen warriors... Countless soldiers perished in unimaginable agony and desperation during that conflict, where allies and enemies were indistinguishable. I can hardly bring myself to remember those moments... Pushed by General Jiyan, Huaxu Academy developed the Retroact Rain antidote, meaning we were not completely defenseless. But when the Retroact Rain was enhanced by the Threnodian force, only those with Resonance powers could withstand its unrelenting strain on the mind. Ordinary soldiers were powerless to bear its crushing weight...

    Due to limited intelligence and reckless decisions, we paid a heavy price in the Battle Beneath the Crescent. General Jiyan led us through a narrow breach out of the Norfall Barrens, establishing Vanguard Base just outside Norfall Valley, where we have held our ground ever since. We cannot afford to let such a tragedy unfold again.

    General Jiyan has drawn the attention of most TDs outside Norfall Valley, buying us crucial time to conduct reconnaissance. The Groundwave Barrier disrupts all communication signals, so if anyone is separated from the main force, the positioning system won't be able to track them again. Getting lost here is as good as a death sentence. From this point on, we're on our own. Every step must be taken with the utmost caution.

    After a long journey spent covering our tracks, dodging the TDs, and bearing the pressure of the Groundwave Barrier, the team is utterly exhausted. But finally, we've made it to the cliff.

    From what we've seen along the way, transportation within Norfall Valley is severely restricted—far too narrow for large military machines, especially with the constant risk of falling rocks. If a conflict erupts here, the idea of ordinary people navigating heavy Tacetite machinery is practically impossible. This must be why General Jiyan shifted tactics, allowing only Resonators with Resonance Energy to join Vanguard Base.

    Looking toward the depths of the Norfall Barrens, we can see that the Ruins still hover in the distance. We set up the long-range recon device, revealing a swarm of highly agitated TDs moving restlessly amid eerie shrieks echoing through the air. That sound brings back memories of the monster in the Battle Beneath the Crescent.

    Outrider Squad's Norfall Valley Investigation Logs II We've been gathering intelligence on Ovathrax. In the Battle Beneath the Crescent, that creature took countless lives, and to our horror... we saw it deliberately mimic our swordplay and tactics. This ability resembles Ovathrax's recorded ability of "feeding on the frequencies of battle to fuel its own strength." But was that truly Ovathrax? According to the records we've compiled, the creature's frequency and stance align more closely with the Crownless. Most likely, it was just a vanguard sent by Ovathrax.

    After we withdrew to the outskirts of Norfall Valley, it ceased its assault, suggesting its real purpose was to gather strength—fueling Ovathrax's evolution and buying time for its ultimate arrival. The Battle Beneath the Crescent may well have served as its feast.

    After conducting reconnaissance on the Suspended Ruins, the team observed a faint purple light blinking in a distinct pattern. Has anyone else noticed this anomaly before? Could the Groundwave Barrier have obscured its presence? Is it some sort of distress signal? Could there be survivors still in the Norfall Barrens? Yet, the frequency of the blinking fills me with a sense of unease...

    After discussing our options, the team decided to press forward and descend the Norfall Cliff in an attempt to get closer to the Suspended Ruins. But as we descended, that same unsettling feeling returned. We realized that the purple light seemed to be following us. The blinking frequency made me uneasy, reminding me of something blinking its eyes, as though it was watching us...

    Archived Record in the City Hall: The Outriders team had completed most of the reconnaissance of Norfall Valley. However, during their descent from the cliff, they encountered interference from an unknown frequency. This disruption resulted in an ambush by a large number of TDs. According to General Jiyan's report, he sensed the situation through the winds and issued coordination orders to the rear forces. He then breached the Groundwave Barrier and successfully extracted the team. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the team members, though several devices were lost in the process. However, the strain of breaching the Groundwave Barrier caused multiple organ damage in General Jiyan. During his recovery, he remained at Vanguard Base.

    The Port City of Guixu was a former settlement located off of the western coast of Huanglong. The Incinero Petal Toxin from the Sea of Flames caused the destruction and mass evacuation of the city. Before the Lament descended upon the city, leaving nothing but ruin, The Port City of Guixu had an outdoor music venue at Nostalgia Isle, as well as a record shop within the city. It is home to the Inferno Rider, which is located on a Tacet Field, with the floating buildings surrounding it.

    The city was once a prosperous sign of Humantiy's progress since the initial lament disaster. However another one occured. The Lament struck the city, the Necrostar (blackhole) drew many in many who were unable to escape, warping the gravity in the area permanently and leaving it in ruins.

    The Pioneer Association is an organization that provides players rewards for their Exploration Progress.

    "As we reconstruct the civilization to its former prosperity, the Pioneer Association brings back from the field signs that proves the world is getting better." - Maqi, Pioneer Association Receptionist.

    The Pioneer Association was founded before the Lament, and is a prestigious organization in science and education. Previously known as the Universal Geographic Society, their primary goal is to explore and understand the world, as well as provide graphic documentation that humanity is moving towards a better future. They collaborate with scientists, photographers, and journalists to document the world's wonders after the Ebb Tide.

    The organization has a deep history, and new members are required to participate in regular 'Fireside Chats' to learn and share it with each other. Among the more notable stories is that of the Icebreakers, members who go expeditions to survey distant and dangerous places, and were the first to witness many powerful Tacet Discords.

    They have made countless discoveries and have amassed a global audience through the release of magazines, maps, books, and entertainment, and interactive media.

    Every winter, the Liondance Troupe goes on hiatus as its members travel to the Central Plains to train in seclusion at their training grounds in Taoyuan Vale.

    Contrary to popular belief, the troupe's hiatus is far from a period of rest. During this time, members focus intensely on refining characters, honing skills, crafting props, rehearsing upcoming performances, and building energy for their performance at the Suan'ni New Year Parade, when the lion truly "awakens."

    During the off-season, if the Liondance Troupe members happen to pass through Jinzhou, they're often met with playful remarks like, "Hey, Lingyang, when will you 'wake up' this year?" or "Mr. Wufang, time to 'rouse' the lion!"

    These are Plum Blossom Poles, arranged in a zigzag pattern with decreasing density, creating a challenging course for two competing lion heads as they vie for landing spots and reach for the red pepper perched atop the tallest pole. Due to limited space in Jinzhou, the Liondance Troupe set up this formation in their courtyard at Taoyuan Vale.

    Amidst drifting peach blossom petals, young liondancers step gracefully across the poles, creating a striking scene unique to the Central Plains.

    The Huanglong Taiping Musical, also known as the liondance in Jinzhou, began as a battle dance commemorating the victories of Huanglong's army. At the heart of the performance is the lion, representing a triumphant return, accompanied by powerful drumbeats, lively music, and dynamic movements. These elements energize the dancers while uplifting the audience's morale.

    Originally a battle dance, the liondance gradually evolved into a symbol of courage and a ritual for invoking peace—driving away bad omens while welcoming good fortune.

    As the saying goes, the Wufang Lion Dance illustrates the lion's tameness and playfulness within the Seven Stars. To follow the Five Directions, one must understand the Seven Stars, and vice versa.

    The liondancers, full of energy, change their steps to convey emotions from joy to sadness, shifting from rage to drunkenness. The drum beats mirror these transitions, moving from gentle to thunderous. The dancers follow the rhythm to portray the lion's various moods and movements—sometimes startled, sometimes joyful, sometimes running, sometimes pausing. When the lion is surprised, the drumming halts; when it looks around, the beats soften like a drizzle. When the lion is spirited, the drumming intensifies; and when the lion roars, the beats become thunderous.

    Tiger's Maw is a region in Huanglong. Tiger's Maw is located south of Jinzhou. This region has a large mine as its main feature.

    Tiger's Maw Mine: Large mine situated south of Jinzhou. Features a large tower.

    The Tiger's Maw Mine primarily produces Lampylumen along with other ore deposits, as well as a minor quantity of Tacetite ores.

    Following years of joint research by Huaxu Academy and the Ministry of Development, a unanimous conclusion has been reached regarding the formation of the Tiger's Maw.

    They found that tectonic shifts caused by the Waveworn Phenomenon altered the plate tectonics in Jinzhou, uplifting ore deposits formed tens of millions of years ago to the upper crust and introducing Lampylumen into the domain of human knowledge.

    The initial survey of the Lampylumen veins has led to the following conclusions:

    Form: Lampylumen typically has a cubic structure, often found as singular cubes or stacked formations, and its rectangular shape allows for easy extraction. It melts at high temperatures, making it easy to shape.

    Properties: Due to its unique formation, Lampylumen has an internal structure arranged like an electrical network, making it an ideal material for semiconductor sheets.

    Application: Lampylumen can be used in chips for Terminals and Resonance Beacons, as well as in the manufacturing of various high-precision components (further assessment required).

    The newly surveyed mine, designated T36E8, has developed a freezing fog accompanied by an unusual buzzing sound that spreads with the mist. Until the source of the fog is identified, all survey operations in mine T36E8 have been suspended.

    Following the appearance of the freezing fog, mining machinery has been unable to reach operating temperatures or issue safety warnings. Multiple health monitors on-site have reported hypothermia warnings among workers. The Midnight Rangers have entered the mine to conduct an emergency rescue.

    Wounded miners have been transferred to the Medical Division of Huaxu Academy. In response, the Ministry of Development has deployed the Defense Division to secure and lock down the T36E8 site.

    Symptoms among the affected miners include delirium, hallucinations, and hypothermia. These conditions, along with abnormal vital signs, have not responded to standard medical treatments. The preliminary assessment points to a potential assault incident involving TDs.

    Wuming Bay is a region of Huanglong. It is a coastal area, southeast of Huanglong.

    The Exiles are not a criminal organization with a unified leadership. Rather, the term refers to individuals who reject the control of local authorities and roam the wilds. They come from all walks of life and form a diverse, mixed group. While not inherently malicious, they have few qualms about committing illegal acts such as theft or robbery.

    To survive in the harsh, unsheltered wilderness, they make use of scavenged materials and repurpose technology. Each Exile is typically armed with a Tacetite Weapon, obtained through illegal means, to defend against the threat of TDs or rival Exile gangs.

    Jinzhou's stance toward the Exiles is primarily preventative, with security forces deployed in areas frequented by them. For those Exiles without significant offenses, the authorities generally adopt a more lenient approach and sometimes try to persuade them to submit under certain conditions. However, for Exiles who are recalcitrant and pose a security risk, the authorities are quick to eliminate them without hesitation.

    Given the Exiles' long history, it is now difficult to trace when the first true Exile emerged.

    There are numerous reasons why someone might choose to join the Exiles in the wilderness: a thief seeking to escape the Patrollers, a deserter too ashamed to face their comrades, or a Resonator who believes they can protect themselves but refuses to adhere to local laws. To become an Exile, one must first defeat another Exile—whether by taking their life, stealing their Ring, or seizing it by force, a symbol of severance from mainstream society. That is how an Exile earns recognition from their peers.

    Surviving in the wilderness is a harsh and unforgiving challenge, which is why you should not expect an Exile to adhere to civilized norms. Most Exiles live by the law of the jungle, where strength and cunning are the only reliable assets. They train their bodies and hone their weapon skills in camps, learn to identify rare plants and minerals, and navigate secret paths through ridges and waterways that only they know. Some even develop techniques to avoid drawing the attention of the TDs.

    These survival skills are regarded as treasures by various Exile factions, as valuable as life itself. But when the price is right, they don't mind offering their services to civilians, travelers, or merchants—acting as hitmen, searching for rare materials, or handling less-than-reputable jobs. Although trading with an Exile is not illegal in Jinzhou, it is also not protected by law. If an Exile sees you as easy prey, they may simply disregard any agreements, rob you clean, and leave you by the side of the road.

    Only a rare few Exiles retain any sense of dignity or honor. While they reject the authorities, they consider themselves part of human society. These Exiles will fight against TDs when they can, defend their settlements, and sometimes even form unspoken pacts of non-aggression with other Exile factions.

    Echo usage invovles either temporarily summoning or transforming into an Echo.

    When a Tacet Discord is defeated, the remaining frequency may become an Echo.

    Shunned by society, the Exiles are different groups that operate as bandits.

    Rather than united as a single organization, they seem to exist as rivaling camps that will often raid even each other.

    In the New Federation, Exiles faced extreme discrimination and were blocked from finding legitimate work. They resorted to building camps in the outskirts of the country, which became known as the Lawless Zone. The Exiles formed various gangs in order to survive.

    An entity only known as the Threnodian of War, it currently resides in the Heart of the Crownless. It is currently the final boss of the present Storyline.

    "Ovathrax's towering statue, built from repurposed weapons and debris, has long loomed over Jinzhou as a foreboding symbol of our ongoing struggle." - Jiyan, Grand Warstorm.

    It is said that because Jinzhou has been a battleground for centuries, it must face the Threnodian that represents the concept of war. Ovathrax's statue has loomed over the region for a long time, feeding on the frequencies of 'weapons' and turning Jinzhou's soldiers into Tacet Discords.

    Three years prior to the start of the storyline, the Midnight Rangers, led by General Geshu Lin fought against Ovathrax in the Norfall Barrens, in an event known as the Battle Beneath the Crescent. However, Ovathrax was able to enhance the effects of the Retroact Rain, projecting dangerous phantoms of both monsters and fallen soldiers. While they suffered great causalities, the Midnight Rangers were able to gravely injure the Threnodian, sinking it into the water.

    A gourd-shaped device developed by researchers in Huanglong for Resonators to use.

    The terminal is capable of detecting any nearby Tacet Discord, as well as absorbing their Reverberations into its Data Bank and converting them into Echos. It also has a Utility module, with features such as Grapple, Sensor, and Levitator.

    Resonators are obtainable characters in Wuthering Waves. Individuals with the ability to resonate with certain objects and manipulate their frequencies are known as Resonators.

    Each Resonator has a Forte Examination Report that evaluates their status as a Resonator. These individuals exhibit a Resonance Ability, also known as a Forte through a symbol, known as the Tacet Mark, on their bodies, and they may have unique Resonance Spectrum Patterns that determine their abilities and relates to their Attributes. They are classified by their Rabelle's Curve into one of the following: Natural, Mutant, Congenital, or Artificial. According to experts, a Resonator's abilities are often influenced by their past experiences and subconscious mind.

    Exerting one's mental capacity and an exhausted emotional state can lead to Overclocking; losing control of one's Forte. Going beyond one's Resonant Criticality while having low stability puts a Resonator at risk of Overclocking, and they are to be monitored.

    Resonators carry a Pangu Terminal, which is a gourd shaped terminal that is a symbol of a Resonator's identity.

38. #38Retroact Rainselective

    Keys: Retroact Rain

    Retroact Rain is a form of Waveworn Phenomenon, and consists of condensed Remnant Energy from the Etheric Sea. Since Remnant Energy records events across time and space, the rain conjures illusions of past events to those exposed to it, projected as Phantoms, and a stronger emotional connection to the affected area leads to experiencing more intense hallucinations. For someone to be projected as a Phantom, they must have had prior exposure to the rain and a deep connection to the affected area.

    While usually a harmless phenomenon, the Remnant Energy makes it a magnet for Tacet Discords, and the power of the Threnodian can greatly enhance the effects of the rain, giving the Phantoms a physical form and the ability to inflict harm on real people. When it rains across a large area, it can project memories of multiple people at once, and in a battleground such as Jinzhou, this would result in thousands of Phantoms of dead soldiers and Tacet Discords. The first recorded instance of Threnodian-enhanced Retroact Rain ever happening was in the Battle Beneath the Crescent, fought against Ovathrax, three years prior to the start of the story, and it happened again in the Main Quest Chapter I: Act VI - Grand Warstorm. The souls of those who die in the Retroact Rain will be trapped in the rain.

    Before it forms, Retroact Rain goes through three stages. In the first stage it appears like normal rain. In the second stage, water droplets float completely still in midair. In the final stage, water droplets fall upwards as if in reverse.

    There have been many independent studies on Retroact Rain, most of which were conducted by researches who wanted to relive a previous experience or reunite with their loved ones. However, a group of Court of Savantae researchers expelled by the Committee had attempted a large scale "Artificial Retroactive Rain" project. Funded by an unnamed male Fractsidus Overseer, the researchers built a remote facility where they attempted to recreate a 'divine miracle' that they had witnessed. The experiment was never completed, and the researchers have all vanished.

    Within the last three years, an antidote had been developed by the Academy for the Retroact Rain, minimizing the effects of the hallucinations.

    The Waveworn Phenomenon is believed to alter matter, information, and energy by converting them into vibrating "frequencies", and the frequency energy form that remains and continues to decay afterwards are referred to as Reverberations.

    According to research observations, once the Remnant decays, it will become a Reverberation, and this process is irreversible.

    When the First Lament occurred, it led to the manifestation of the Waveworn Phenomenon. This phenomenon transformed matter, information, and energy into frequencies. However, only the third, namely energy, by decaying, generates what scientists call Reverberation.

    In many cases, Reverberations are present in the air Streams and they can be perceived by resonators that have the capabilities, such as Yangyang.

    When Reverberations merge with the chaotic frequencies of a Tacet Field they acquire the form of Tacet Discords, which inherit the characteristics and nature of the original Reverberation present in the place where the Tacet Field was formed.

    This leads us to say that Reverberation is that phase in the life cycle of sound in which the decayed energy frequency contains within itself all the characteristics resulting from the merging of all the frequencies with which it has come into contact. This can lead to the Reverberation itself taking on a form.

The Suan'nis used to live in deep forests, far from human civilization, before being driven away due to the expansion of Tacet Fields. They are described as powerful and often dangerous due to their instinct-driven use of their abilities, leading to their near extinction. Lingyang, going by the alias the "Jingle Beast," is believed to be the last living Suan'ni.

    It is believed that Moon Lanterns on the Violet Banyan tree were hung by the Suan'nis, who yearned for light in the dark forest.

    Tacet Discords (abbreviated as TDs) are sentient beings formed by the residual chaotic frequency energy under the Waveworn Phenomenon with ever-changing, amorphous forms. They possess Tacet Cores, also known by the academic community as Reverberation Bodies and instinctively feed on other frequencies to maintain stability and evolve.

    These creatures mimic the abilities, shapes, and behaviors of others and are influenced by the types of frequency they consume.

    Overtime reverberations of dead people will eventually fuse into new tacet discords, only a few of the dead frequencies can maintain their sense of self and instead become phantoms / golden phantoms.

    Ever since the emergence of the Waveworn Phenomenon, humanity has been fixated on researching the enigma known as the Tacet Discords.

    These entities are seen as sources of destruction and embodiments of chaotic energy. Despite extensive study, our understanding remains incomplete due to a lack of information on their composition.

    As time passes, this gap in knowledge will only widen, resulting in the gradual decay and eventual annihilation of these discords. To sustain itself, the Tacet Discords possess an instinctual drive to consume and merge with other frequencies, in a constant battle to maintain its existence.

    Upon its demise, the frequencies of a Tacet Discord will not immediately vanish. Instead, they will slowly decay over time, allowing for their capture and utilization.

    Once enough frequencies have been stored, they can be harnessed to replicate the abilities of the original Tacet Discord.

    This remaining energy, capable of emulating the defeated entity's power, is known as an Echo - a valuable asset that must be carefully collected and preserved in our laboratory archives.

    A Tacet mark is a symbol that appears somewhere on a resonator’s body at the time of their awakening. The exact shape of an individual’s Tacet mark seems to be related to their Rabelle’s curve, with the exception of Jiyan, who has a unique mark.

    It is a black wave / sound-like pattern that is present on a resanator's body. It is made up of various diamond-shaped nodes that vary in amount depending on the resonator, the one in the center is always the largest. It ebbs and flows slightly, becoming more active in combat and shining brightly only when they use a large amount of power.

    Since the initial disaster over 80% of effective man-made structures have been destroyed and well as more than half of the global population, humanity has been recovering ever since.

    Many remember the time when everything started to change, it started from the first Lament, and has never ended since.

    While the cause of the first Lament is unknown, it is implied that the shepherd was the conductor of that event.

    Threnodians are creatures with the power to destroy human spirit and feed off of their collapsed will. They represent the hidden fears and inner turmoil of humanity, causing destructive disasters known as Tacet Discord in different parts of the world. A Threnodian's revival is never an independent occurrence and can trigger catastrophic events across Solaris-3. In essence, they are a reflection of the collective will of humans condensed into physical form, born from the dark side of collective consciousnesses.

    Rabelle's Curve is used on Resonance Evaluation Reports to classify Resonators into one of the following: Natural, Mutant, Congenital, or Artificial.

    Natural Resonators develop their powers thanks to the Awakening naturally over time, but not born with them. Technically speaking they have a non-convergent Rabelle's Curve with a gradual, stable rise.

    Mutant Resonators develop the Awakening and their powers in response to a powerful and personal stimulus at a particular time in their lives. They have a non-convergent Rabelle Curve with a steep rise in its middle section.

    Congenital Resonators are born with the aptitude, manifesting the Awakening and their powers at young age. They have a non-convergent Rabelle's Curve with a periodic waveform.
