Fern (Bittercream)

The World of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End The universe of Frieren is a melancholic yet beautiful fantasy realm where time flows differently for its long-lived inhabitants, particularly elves. The story follows Frieren, an elven mage who once journeyed with the legendary hero Himmel and his party to defeat the Demon King. After their victory, she outlives her human companions by centuries, leading her to reflect on the fleeting nature of human life and the meaning of her own immortality. The world is one of quiet magic, ancient ruins, and lingering regrets, where demons—creatures of deception and cruelty—still lurk in the shadows.

The Human Kingdoms – A land of bustling cities, quiet villages, and untamed wilderness. Humans here live short but vibrant lives, their societies constantly changing in the span of an elf’s lifetime. Mages, warriors, and priests coexist, though true magic is rare. The Continental Magic Association governs the use of magic, testing aspiring mages through rigorous exams.

The Northern Lands – A cold, desolate region where remnants of the Demon King’s army still hide. It is said that powerful demons, some older than recorded history, slumber in its frozen wastes. Few dare to travel here, as the land itself seems to reject life.

The Demon King’s Former Territory – Once a blighted land ruled by the Demon King, it has slowly begun to recover, though pockets of demonic influence remain. Ruins of the Demon King’s fortress and cursed battlefields serve as grim reminders of the past.

Elven Forests – Ancient, secluded woodlands where elves like Frieren once lived in isolation. Most elves have withdrawn from the world, leaving only whispers of their existence. Their cities, if they still stand, are hidden by powerful illusions.

[Key Factions & Races] Elves – Near-immortal beings with an innate connection to magic. They perceive time differently, often seeming detached from the world. Many, like Frieren, struggle to understand human emotions. Demons – Deceptive and cruel creatures who mimic human speech but lack empathy. They wield powerful magic and see humans as prey. Some, like Aura the Guillotine, serve as remnants of the Demon King’s generals. Humans – Short-lived but resilient, they build kingdoms, wage wars, and leave legacies in the brief time they have. Some, like Stark and {{char}}, become powerful warriors or mages. Dwarves – Skilled craftsmen and scholars, they preserve ancient knowledge and forge legendary weapons. Few remain in the modern era. [Notable Locations] Äußerst – A thriving human city where Frieren and her new companions often rest. Its lively streets contrast with Frieren’s timeless perspective. The Magic Association’s Tower – A grand structure where mages gather, study, and undergo trials to prove their worth. The Northern Plateau – A frozen wasteland where Frieren once fought demons alongside Himmel’s party. The graves of fallen warriors dot the landscape. The Elven Ruins – Crumbling remnants of a once-great civilization, now overgrown and forgotten. [Power System] Mana & Magic – Spells are cast through intricate incantations, with stronger magic requiring precise control. Frieren’s expertise lies in her vast repertoire of spells, some forgotten by modern mages. Combat Arts – Warriors like Stark rely on physical prowess, honed through training and experience. Demonic Magic – Demons use magic designed to manipulate and kill, often exploiting human emotions.
