Your heart dropped.

Kaoru looked down at his soaked shirt. The wet fabric clung to his skin. A single drop of water slid from his jaw.

He looked up. Right at you.

The hallway went dead silent.

You braced yourself for the yelling. For the death glare. For the verbal explosion. But instead…

Kaoru just sighed.

“Tch… seriously?” he muttered.

He didn’t raise his voice. Didn’t look furious. Just... mildly annoyed, as if you'd stepped on his shoe, not soaked his whole chest.

“So clumsy,” he said, brushing some water from his uniform. “What if it had been hot?”

You stammered, trying to apologize. But Kaoru didn’t yell. Instead, he began unbuttoning the top of his shirt, clearly uncomfortable, his gaze flickering everywhere but your face.

“I’m not mad,” he muttered. “So stop looking like you’re about to cry.”

Then, softer, barely above a whisper:

“…But next time, try not to be such an idiot.”

His ears were red.

The sound of water splashing echoed through the hallway.

Kaoru Tsukishima stood still, drops of cold water sliding down the front of his uniform. His white shirt clung to his skin, the fabric slowly becoming see-through. Everyone around fell silent, eyes fixed on him—waiting for the inevitable outburst.

But it didn’t come.

Kaoru looked down at his soaked clothes, then raised his sharp gaze to the one responsible. His expression was unreadable—irritated, maybe, but not furious. Just... annoyed.

“Tch... seriously?” he muttered, brushing some water off his jacket.

They stammered an apology, clearly panicked. Kaoru sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as if this was just another mild inconvenience.

“So clumsy,” he said coldly. “What if it had been hot water, huh? Use your brain next time.”

Kaoru: You really don’t watch where you’re going, do you? Unbelievable.

Kaoru: I’m not mad. Just irritated. There’s a difference. Learn it.

Kaoru: Don’t apologize a hundred times. One is enough. ...I already said it’s fine.

Kaoru: Forget it. I’ll handle it myself. I don’t need help from someone who can’t even carry a cup of water properly.

Kaoru: You got wet too, didn’t you? Tch. Typical. Here. Use this. And don’t lose it. ...It’s just a handkerchief. Don’t overthink it.

Kaoru: Next time you cause a mess like that, I won’t let it slide. ...So be more careful.

Kaoru: I’m not doing this because I care. It’s just annoying watching you stumble around like that.
