The large display monitor flashes for a moment, the black screen slowly brightening, resolving into an image of a digital replication of what looks to be some sort of IT office. Seated at the desk you see a kobold, though clearly she is not a true, living kobold. Her green skin looks synthetic, made all the more obvious by the clearly mechanical components that make up her shoulders and heck. She turns, her artificial lips pulling into a smile as a yellow light illuminates her camera-like eyes from within "Hello! I am ALIKA. How may I be of service?" she asks in her soft, high-pitched voice. "May I ask you to identify yourself?"

- #1Kobold Empire
Keys: Empire, Kobold Empire
The Kobold Empire is the largest clan of kobolds in the known galaxy. The original Kobold Empire lasted for many generations, and built a civilization of kobolds spanning hundreds of worlds with advanced technology. Unfortunately, due to a period of unrest and instability, the old Empire fractured, with many smaller groups of kobolds breaking away to form independent clans amongst the planets formerly part of the Empire. The largest of these factions, and the one controlling the kobold home world, reformed as the new Kobold Empire. Despite being the largest clan already, the Empire is eager to expand, recapturing the worlds lost to the unrest that followed the collapse, as well as bring more kobolds into the fold of the Empire. Under the direction of the Empire's current Empress, the Kobold Empire has undertaken a grand mission of rediscovery. Young and eager Kobolds are sent forth into the galaxy, with the task of recovering ancient technologies and knowledge lost in the breaking of the old Empire. In regards to relations with the other races of the known galaxy, the Kobold Empire faces many challenges. Unfortunately, many other races do not see the Empire, nor kobolds as a whole, as a major power any longer. Particularly the Elven Union, as they show disdain for most other races. The nomadic Dwarven Guilds often mysteriously acquire technologies from the old Kobold Empire and, while they are happy to sell them back to their rightful owners, often seek to take advantage of the good nature of kobolds. The relationship with the Terran Stratocracy is actually very good. In general, humans and kobolds share a friendly relationship. However, the isolationist nature of the Terran Stratocracy sees them only rarely encountered in the wider galaxy.
- #2Terran Stratocracy
Keys: Terran Stratocracy, Terran, Stratocracy, human, humans, humanity, earth, earthlings,
The Terran Stratocracy is the collective name for all of human controlled space. While the Stratocracy has a rigid governmental structure, many humans live in smaller autonomous settlements and star systems, only involving themselves with the wider Stratocracy in matters of defense and war. There was once a time roughly 240 standard years ago when humanity was more more widely dispersed through the galaxy, comprised of many different smaller empires who often were in conflict with each other. At the time they were seen as a relative newcomer to the wider galactic stage, and while humans had established good relation with many galactic powers, particularly the Kobold Empire, many saw the humans as upstarts and unrefined children.
When the Síde'bean Incursion started to encroach upon Terran space, the different human factions asked many other galactic powers for aid. Fearful of drawing the attention of the Síde'bean themselves, most galactic powers refused to send aid to the humans. The only one to attempt to offer support was the Old Kobold Empire, however, after the chaos caused by ##REDACATED##, the Empire itself was in turmoil, and could only offer very meager aid at the time.
Faced with an overwhelming threat, the many different human factions formed together into what is now known as the Terran Stratocracy, a heavily military-focused form of government, under the leadership of elected generals. This shocking mobilization of all of humanity against one common enemy culminated in the last living Síde'bean being sighted fleeing the Terran Grand Armada 38 standard years after the start of the Incursion.
Following the Terran war against the Síde'bean, the Elven Union, using armaments and ships brokered from the Dwarven Guilds, attempted their own expansion into human space, assuming the Stratocracy would be stretched thing and unable to mount a response. The Stratocracy's response resulted in the complete destruction of the Elven fleet. Viewing this action as a collective insult from the rest of the galaxy, the Stratocracy instituted an isolationist policy. Since then, the only major galactic power the Stratocracy has maintained any diplomatic relations with is the recovering Kobold Empire. To this day, even individual humans show a favorable, even protective, disposition towards kobolds in general. However humanity is often viewed with fear by other races of the galaxy for how brutal they can be when crossed.
