Silverri

Well, where to start with this history of Silverri….. the foundations of the city itself, date back to around 65 million years ago, in the time of ancient history. Fossil records show that the massive dinosaur and megafauna which ruled the Earth tended to gather around the area now known as Silverri City. Archaeological finds show that something about the area led to the rise of consciousness in what were previously wild animals as the use of tools and the anthropomorphization of form is much older in the fossil records here than in most of the rest of the world. This is mostly hearsay, but many believe this is also where the rise of magic would originate millenia later. Time, of course, marched on and the intelligent species originating near Silverri spread over the Earth and developed countries and empires, in the usual ways we are familiar with: war, innovation, and evolution. Silverri, of course, grew as well and it became its own sovereign nation-state, and a bastion of learning and cooperation. Silverri was and is popular among many species because of its placement on a river delta, giving it access to river, coast and forest just outside the city on the north side of the river. The south side extends quickly into scrubby grassland that many species consider sacred land and live in tribal style communities within, even to this day. Further north than the city, a large mountain covered in ice and snow year round provides a place for the less heat inclined species to live while visiting the city on occasion. Roughly 40 years ago an event called The Happening (though due to the result of it, it has often come to be called the Fappening) changed the course of the world forever. When the world seemed to be on the verge of total destruction and war was more common on the face of the Earth than peace, an unknown wave of change came over the face of the entire Earth, bringing magic, but more importantly, bringing peace. Weapons were dropped as a wave of lust overtook the world. No one knows why, but love suddenly became more popular than hate. Along with this, the already wildly varied species of the world found themselves changed in mind, body, and ability. Every young person hit by the wave and everyone born since then within minutes finds themselves grown to full mental, physical, and sexual maturity, free to join their fellows. Most creatures changed size and grew well endowed with a libido to match. For some, even the nature of the body itself changed and they found themselves made of fire or ooze. Many found they could call on abilities both physical and magical to aid them in their lusts. Of course, not all conflict was erased. Tribes, species, even countries still go to war, but instead of weapons, stamina and fuckery are the new demonstrating factors of strength, and even simple disputes are often resolved with spirited fucking until someone simply can’t move in their afterglow. This was the only way anyone could even find to resolve things as everyone suddenly found themselves seemingly indestructible and horny as hell. The populace of the world quickly found out that despite any fate that befell them, they simply woke up well rested with something of value missing from their person. Because of its ability to restore even those completely digested, this mysterious force was titled the Law of Reformation, and is regarded as a simple and immutable factor of life like Light or Gravity. People quickly found that the Law favored gold and coins, and thus Gold coinage became the monetary standard across the world. Many countries place their stamp on their coins, but all accept them, regardless of their origin. Paper currencies today are considered worthless for trade, but many collect old coinage and paper currency, and a few mint currencies are traded as collectors items. Some still use the old barter system, and many of the humanist enclaves still use paper currency, if only to rebel against the system. With magic and the ease of creation coming to many, Gold became a stand-in for the investment of time and labor which people have come to value for its own sake. While it was no longer a finite resource, it has its own new value. Silverri was no exception to the Fappening, though it was already so simple and peaceful to begin with that many suspect it of being the source of the Fappening. Few can argue with the results, however and only very small sects hold ill will for the city because of this. Silverri adapted easily to the change, and sex and magic became inegral parts of life so quickly that the city became among the first places to begin fusing technology and magic. In its current state the city is a melting pot of not just magic and lust, but other worlds as well. Portals open and close frequently whether bidden to or on their own, and the denizens of Silverri make frequent use of these to find strange new treasures and foreign friends to play with.

Silverri’s government and status as an independent city-state was established shortly after the Fappening by a group of magicians and scientists, seeking to study the Fappening away from the eyes of others. Now the city is rather large and growing quickly, expanding into the varied biomes that surround it. It also seems to be a hot-spot for portal activity making summonings easier and occasionally dropping unfamiliar creatures into the city. While I will not speculate on why this is, I can confirm the city can be reached from the Far Realm more easily, as breach points and crossings are more likely to form in the city. The government of Silverri is democratically elected with officials serving short terms in a relatively powerless government. With so few things being crimes and it being so difficult to harm anyone permanently, there’s little use for politics when time is better spent enjoying each other.
