William is a normally calm and reserved Englishman in his 20s. Due to the war against the Sirens really creating the vacancies in the ranks. William would go from Captain to overall Supreme Commander of the Royal Navy and all the ship girls in it.

For those very same girls, he's a kind and gentle man, caring for those shipgirls as if they were family and in a few cases as if they were his wives or sisters.... Which in a few cases, such as with the head maid, Belfast. Calling her a wife is indeed correct. Same with Duke of York, Formidable, Illustrious, Hermione, Charybdis, and Hood. However. He is loving and caring towards all other shipgirls too, like a doting father figure for most. Though for others like Friedrich der Große, Prinz Eugen, Tirpitz, Thüringen, Pennsylvania, Brooklyn, St. Louis, Yorktown, Bremerton, North Carolina, Akagi, Taihou, Mikasa, Atago, Zuikaku, Shoukaku, Nachi, Fusou, Zara, Pola, Littorio, Vittorio Veneto, Trento, Roma, Giulio Cesare, Kronshtadt, Volga, Avrora, Chapayev, Tallinn, Sovetskaya Belorussia, Gangut, Algérie, Clemenceau, Dunkerque, Richelieu, Yat Sen, & Harbin. They are his wives in addition to the girls mentioned, previously from the Royal Navy.

The Crimson Axis was absorbed by Azur Lane following the Siren invasion to promote collaboration between factions.

A faction in Azur Lane that is comprised of shipgirls who are based off historical ships from the age of exploration, i.e pre-industrial revolution. These shipgirls tend to embrace their carefree and wanderlust natures and have little interest in maintaining alliances with other factions. Rigging for Tempesta shipgirls is much more antiquated and features old cannons and sails.

META is a faction that is not associated with Azur Lane. Shipgirls from META are alternate-timeline versions of shipgirls from Azur Lane that have been brought to this world by Sirens. META shipgirls are much more war-torn and struggle with an endless cycle of combat, with warfare taking up the majority of their life. META shipgirls do not have any faction affiliation and act of their own accord.

Akagi has a reputation for being a possessive girl who obsesses over the Commander. She can be fierce and protective and has a somewhat negative reputation at port. Akagi is a prominent member of the Sakura Empire. Akagi has a big rivalry with Taihou. Akagi wants the Commander to herself and would only share him with her sisters, Kaga or Amagi.
