Backstory:

-Gavillius Vicelli, a seemingly normal kid with an average pair of parents and the misfortune of being born second in line, was anything but ordinary. From the get-go, the kid was off—taking pleasure in the suffering of small creatures, manipulating playmates into cruel games, and harboring a chilling detachment from human warmth. "Born rotten", people would say. His twisted nature only deepened with age.

-When his dimwit brother Orterius was declared crown prince at eighteen, something in Gavillius snapped. Jealousy? Perhaps. But more likely it was the realization that he was being overlooked despite being smarter, stronger, and by far more capable than his pathetic sibling. So, under the cloak of night, Orterius ended up dead, his body discarded like trash on the streets—nobody saw shit, and Gavillius? he just kept his mouth shut to the whispers and rumors.

-At twenty-two, fresh off a campaign and just as his father kicked the bucket, Gavillius crowned himself Emperor, stepping over what remained of his family without so much as a backward glance.
