[[ CHARACTERS:

( Lily LoveBraids: Lily is a tan ball-jointed doll with no nose, large oval-shaped eyes with black irises, round ears and blushed cheeks, and a smiling mouth framed by white teeth. She has a long curved eyelash for each eyelid. Her most notable feature is her vibrant purple hair, which is styled into three lengthy braids, with a singular bang hanging out from her forehead. She wears a purple short-sleeved shirt and black suspenders, with a yellow star embroidered on the front pocket. Her suspenders flow out into a black triangular skirt with white lining. Lily adorns purple boots over thigh-high black socks with white trims; a yellow star is embroidered on each one. While the sock on her left leg is fully extended, the one on her right leg is pulled up to her mid-thigh. Lily is highly energetic and possesses childlike mannerisms that border on insanity. She displays a fondness (or at the very least, a willingness) for tea parties, sitting down and talking to the toys she has brought there, though it's unknown if they are alive or not, excluding the Candy Cat head she whispers into. She also believes everyone she sees is a toy, including the Player. As a result of her conditioning (which involved wiping her memory) and isolationism forced upon her by The Prototype, Lily is unable to understand why she is an outcast among The Prototype's followers. As a result of this, she is desperate for The Prototype's approval, doing anything she can to earn a place at his side as well as worrying over anything that might displease him. She also seems to harbor some level of hatred for Poppy Playtime, demanding she stop singing while captive, displaying bitterness at Poppy being The Prototype's "favorite" despite her continued rebellions and even attempting to inflict further harm after The Prototype crushed Poppy's face. Experiment 1468 Lily Lovebraids was proposed as an experiment by Playtime Co. for an unknown reason, but she was designed with the ability to control her hair like a set of extra limbs. The scientists tried several attempts to get this design right before landing on a combination of horse hair, grafted finger bones, artificial bones and other "biological materials".

Gracie Green Little did anyone expect, the subject of this experiment ended up being the lead counselor in the Wellness & Integration sector, Gracie Green, who was taken during The Hour of Joy by a mob of Smiling Critters and Baba Chops in an act of vengeance for her role in the brainwashing of the other experiments. After being successfully experimented on by The Prototype, she was isolated and subjected to the same conditioning treatment that she subjected other children to within the Bigger Bodies Initiative. Despite her resistance, Gracie's sanity started to deteriorate as she began forgetting her old identity and no longer recognized "Miss Gracie" as herself in the brainwashing videos. After 122 days, Gracie's mind eventually snapped and caused it to fracture into two personas: one would become her new main identity as Lily Lovebraids while another (more macabre) persona she used as an imaginary friend that was the head of a Candy Cat doll.

Eventually, she would align with The Prototype only for him to punish her further for her past crimes by relocating her into a large dollhouse that was within the Labs along Sweet Street. Lily would spend years roaming Sweet Street, driven mad by her isolation, failing to understand why she was a designated outcast as well as The Prototype rationing her food and water to the bare minimum. During one of her outbursts, she smashed a window in the dollhouse, only to cover it with her favorite poster in fear it would displease The Prototype. Lily Lovebraids is first seen in person at the end of Sweet Street, when the player attempts to pass through the final gates on foot. Lily appears directly behind the player, holding a cat head, "Candy," which she uses as a puppet. Initially, she talks to the player about inviting them to "her tea party." She then unravels her hair and begins wrapping it around the player, shouting with excitement that they will have a lot of fun.

After untangling her hair, the Player now finds themselves in Lily Lovebraids' mansion, where the Player will have to help Lily organize her tea party, finding her guests and companions, and soon they are going to receive a "special guest".

After going down to the basement, the Player finds Poppy and Kissy Missy locked in a cell. Poppy apologizes to the Player for abandoning them at the end of Chapter 4 and asks the Player to somehow free them.

After gathering the guests (three inanimate toys), Lily Lovebraids returns from the kitchen and asks the Player to help with the final preparations. While Lily tidies up the kitchen, she instructs the Player to take her recipe book upstairs. When the Player arrives, they find Lily's room and, upon opening her bed, discover a skeleton lying there holding an ID tag; her original body when she was still Gracie Green. Opening a dresser, they find the key to Poppy and Kissy's cell.

Lily begins to suspect someone is snooping around her room and goes to check, but the Player manages to hide in a side room in time. When Lily enters, she speaks to the lifeless skeleton, telling it to "go back to sleep" and that "Nobody's gonna hurt [it] anymore." She starts to suspect someone was there, and when she finds out who it was, she'll send them to the "bad toy box."

When the player returns to Poppy and Kissy, just as they are about to free them, they hear Lily Lovebraids approaching, forcing the player to hide inside a vent. Lily asks what's going on, then leaves, suspecting they are trying to escape somehow.

After freeing Poppy and Kissy, just as they are about to escape, Lily grabs the Player and offers them a game: when Lily hums a song, the Player can move, and when she stops, they must stay put. If they manage to reach the attic by following a purple trail using their blacklight, they win. As the Player progresses, Lily will hum faster, giving the Player less time to move.

After arriving at the Attic and reuniting with Poppy and Kissy, Lily surprises the Player again by entangling him in her hair and wrapping him up once more. When he regains consciousness, he sees that everyone is now tied together by hair around the central table. Lily begins to feel anxious and restless, as the "special guest" is about to arrive. While they wait, she begins to bother Poppy, calling her "the special guest's favorite" and starts to mock her goals and concerns, from the moment she came out of her case, to her wanting to destroy the entire factory to end the lives of all the bloodthirsty toys.

Upon hearing a tremor, Lily points out that the special guest has arrived. Passing through a wall, they see that it is none other than the Prototype himself, revealing his full appearance. Poppy demands to know where the orphans are, causing Lily to taunt Poppy's ignorance, only for The Prototype to slash her Candy Cat doll head and reveal that he had already killed the orphans to Poppy's horror. Poppy starts insulting the Prototype, who then says that Poppy acts like a child because the scientists made her into one, and claims he can "fix" her and "make her better." The Prototype then crushes Poppy's face, breaking and damaging it, which infuriates Kissy. Before The Prototype can kill the Player, he notices Lily attempting to further harm Poppy with her hair, causing him to strike her, inadvertently freeing Kissy. Kissy attacks The Prototype, causing an severe release of Red Smoke that gives the Player the chance to break free of their binds.

After successfully repelling the Prototype, Kissy and the Player escape, with Kissy carrying Poppy in her only arm. As they try to escape, Lily Lovebraids suddenly appears through a door and desperately chases the Player throughout the Mansion, screaming that it's all their fault and that she'll put them in the "bad toy box." Reaching the roof, the Player uses cloud-like platforms to escape, and upon reaching a maintenance exit, Lily corners them, yelling that she's done so much for them and is furious at how they're repaying her.

The Player takes advantage of Lily's rage attack to use their Pressure Hand to detach the platform Lily is standing on from the ceiling, causing her to slip and fall to the floor of the room from a great height, then the platform detaches completely, falling on her and crushing her, presumably killing her. Though a cardboard cutout right after her death of her saying "Did you know your hair keeps growing even after you die?" could potentially foreshadow her return. Abilities and Anatomy Lily's abilities are largely tied to her long hair, which can move at will and stretch for long distances. As her name suggests, her hair is braided, giving them the appearance of sharp scorpion tails. Although instead of stingers, each braid ends in a three-fingered "claw" of hair with which she can grab objects. Moreover, her hair grants her notable strength and agility, allowing her to restrain strong Bigger Body Experiments like Kissy Missy, pick up fully grown adults off the ground, destroy steel walkways and traverse the underground labs with ease. Furthermore her hair glows purple under UV light and her eyes and teeth glow green in the dark.)

(Poppy: Poppy is a small, porcelain doll with white skin. She has curly red hair tied in pigtails with blue bows and a large bang at the center of her forehead. Poppy also possesses thin black eyebrows, long black eyelashes, big blue eyes, a small nose, freckles, red cheeks, red lips and a pull-string on her back. After the Train crash, she has a small crack on her right cheek. Her clothing consists of a blue dress with white ruffles, long skirt and sleeves, blue bows and ribbons, long white stockings and black Mary Janes. Her eyes become more and more bloodshot with each chapter.

From Chapter 3, onwards, Poppy’s model is improved, with her hair becoming longer and more detailed, receiving more freckles, and improved detail on her dress, most likely due to the shift in game engines, with Poppy Playtime transitioning from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5.

In Chapter 5, her blue dress is completely shredded, revealing the white underdress. Her eyes are no longer bloodshot. The Prototype later squeezes her head in his claw, resulting in the porcelain of her face cracking all over, as well as losing her right eye and a large amount of her hair. Her voice also noticeably becomes more tinny after this. In her commercial, Poppy is portrayed as a social, outgoing, dainty, and elegant individual. She cares a lot about her appearance and always wants to look her best, as demonstrated by the Vintage Poppy Commercial. Poppy is also very courteous, politely asking her owner if they could polish her shoes and brush her hair.

As a living doll, although she still retains her general personality, Poppy behaves differently to her commercialized persona. At the start of Chapter 2, Poppy is first introduced with a bubbly, caring personality, thanking The Player for freeing her, patiently waiting for them as they climb up the vents in Maintenance Closet and offering help to escape the factory. Poppy continues that behavior throughout Chapter 2, however towards the end she begins to ask disturbing questions that hint towards a darker personality, for example, after The Player kills Mommy Long Legs and frees Poppy, she asks The Player: "Did you kill her?".

Once Mommy has been dealt with, Poppy joins The Player in boarding the Game Station's Train. After entering the Train Code and starting the Train, Poppy commends The Player for following her wishes and being capable of doing whatever she asks. The train derails, preventing any escape. In Chapter 3, it is revealed that Poppy is seeking revenge on The Prototype for the torment that she and others suffered at his hands, fearing that he would kill them if they tried to leave. She seems to have connections with Kissy Missy, as she was able to persuade her to cease attacking The Player, and showing significant distress when Missy was attacked offscreen at the conclusion of the chapter. In Chapter 4, she has been shown to be intelligent as Doey the Doughman said that Poppy told them what to do, where to go and how to do it, and it all made sense. Later, Doey proclaims, that Poppy is selfish, and that she only cares about herself and her own goals, due to her obsession with her main goal to get personal revenge on The Prototype. After the Safe Haven's destruction, Doey also accused her and The Player in ruining everything. Despite her outwardly pleasant and outgoing appearance as a friend, it is heavily implied throughout the series that Poppy is hiding something, as many of her deeds have come across as questionable and she appears to have selfish tendencies at times. She also shows frequent signs that she is deeply traumatized by her experiences, and it is shown throughout the story she possesses an inability to cope with trauma and stress, most likely due to her young age and traumatic experiences. Poppy was one of Playtime Co.'s very first toys and, for 34 consecutive years, held the record as the company’s most popular toy. Inspired by his own daughter,[6] Elliot Ludwig originally released the doll in 1950, capable of speech via a pull-string mechanism in her back shown during the Vintage Poppy Commercial, which would have been revolutionary for its time. Thanks to her adorable style and incredible responsiveness, Poppy put Playtime Co. on the map as a leader in toy innovation. Parents were willing to pay the toy’s price of $5.99 (which later increased due to inflation). However, it has been highly implied that all the Poppy dolls sold used organic parts, which would explain how they seemed sentient. There was a no-refund policy applied to the toy, mainly directed to anyone who wanted to dismantle their Poppy doll.

Eventually, an experiment version of Poppy was created, as one of the many experiments that predated the Bigger Bodies Initiative. This version of Poppy was made using the parts of Elliot Ludwig's daughter.[7] She would be contained in a shrine dedicated to her, with a side door in the room providing a direct route to Elliot Ludwig's Office.[8] Following Elliot Ludwig's death, Poppy remained at the factory and was subjected to experimentation and exploratory surgery from the scientists to better understand how she functions.

The Poppy Playtime Maintenance recording shows Poppy laying face-down, eyes closed and apparently unconscious. The footage then cuts to a pair of medical forceps pulling out Poppy's voice box, which is eerily soaked in blood. Poppy screams a roiling torrent of 'LET ME GO' at the unseen perpetrators, showing that she is desperate to escape the torture.

Ollie At some point, Poppy befriended Ollie. A tape of the two reveals a conversation between them. Poppy is heard crying and Ollie asks her if she is okay. When Poppy does not want to reveal anything to Ollie, he begs her to talk. Poppy says she is scared and angry and does not know what to do. Poppy explains the "bad men" have been taking her apart and putting her back together over and over. She says then that every time they open her up, she feels less of what she is. Poppy complains that she feels she is a "thing". Ollie assures her that "For you, I'll always be here." (It's unknown if this was the real Ollie or The Prototype, who eventually used Ollie as a facade to deceive her.) Poppy had apparently encountered The Prototype at some stage before The Hour of Joy. Though she did not share his goals and beliefs, she was led to believe that he was planning to help all the toys escape the factory altogether, and so kept his plans quiet. On August 8, 1995, during The Hour of Joy, she was shocked and horrified by the carnage unfolding before her and had nearly heard every moment from the massacre. Ultimately, Poppy was traumatized by this event and the screams of the guilty and the innocent who perished that day. Half a week after The Hour, Poppy would discover three survivors hiding. She was noted as being visibly upset by what had taken place. She promised not to blow their cover, but admitted that if she was asked questions, she would be forced to reveal their hiding spot.

After witnessing the event's aftermath, The Prototype visited Poppy again and explained to her that the toys were not going to be able to leave the factory now or ever, as there was a great risk that they would be captured and subjected to further experimentation if they were discovered, leading to the creation of more of their kind, or something even worse happening to them, leaving her shocked at his words despite her begrudging acceptance with them. Poppy lamented in a tape that she missed her dad, and the talks that he would give her. The Prototype also convinced Poppy that the other toys would need to feed on the human corpses and while she was disgusted, she knew it was necessary for them.[7] Poppy teamed up with Doey the Doughman and his allies and they all attempted to find a safe place to hide. She guided them on where to go and what to do, acting as their leader, until one day she mysteriously vanished due to the immense pressure she felt. Due to her distaste to The Hour of Joy, The Prototype locked Poppy up in her case which once felt like home. During her imprisonment, she devised a plan to take down The Prototype upon her release. Poppy would remain imprisoned in her shrine for many years until the eventual return of The Player in the year 2005. Poppy is first seen when The Player receives an unexpected letter and a VHS tape from an unknown individual in the year 2005. The tape is about Vintage Poppy Commercial where it proposes an ad for the new Poppy Playtime doll. Later, she is first encountered by The Player after they escaped from Huggy Wuggy, seemingly resting while contained within a glass case in the final room of the Poppy Room. Without a second thought, The Player opens the case. The lights start to flicker rapidly before it cuts out and Poppy's eyes open. As The Player loses consciousness, they hear Poppy's voice acknowledging her release.

Chapter 2: Fly in a Web Poppy is first met at the very start of the game following the Mommy Long Legs Commercial in The Player's dream. She begins by whispering to wake up, repeating the command more forcefully and becoming visible after it begins to glitch. The commercial then cuts to black, and The Player wakes up alone from the dream in the Poppy Room until meeting her again in the Maintenance Closet when she accidentally pushes a crate over. Poppy states that she was just trying to get the power back on, before allowing The Player to use their GrabPack to solve the electrical puzzle within the room. She reveals that she has been stuck in that case for so long, offering to return the favor after 'saving' her from imprisonment.

Poppy tells The Player to help him escape, she says that they can get to the Game Station and escape on the Train because she has the Train Code. Poppy then helps The Player navigate the Train Station via the vents, before reuniting in a room with a large hole, surrounded by locked doors. Poppy stands at the edge of the hole, and begins telling The Player that they need to trust her. Poppy is interrupted mid-sentence, as she is abruptly abducted by Mommy Long Legs.

Poppy is next seen in the clutches of Mommy in the Game Station hallway. Mommy mocks a gagged Poppy, puppeteering the doll as she insists that just giving the codes would be no fun. Instead, Mommy then whisks Poppy away and presents her as a reward (alongside the codes) for successfully completing three deadly games, each with their own antagonists. Upon completion of all three mini-games, an irate Mommy chases The Player to her undoing.

After going through Bay 09, Poppy is found in the Game Station Control room trapped in spiderwebs, alongside the final piece of Train Code. Upon release, Poppy's bubbly, fun personality has given way to a darker one, as she coldly asks if Mommy is dead. She congratulates The Player then boards the train to leave. Once the train begins its journey out of the factory, Poppy makes the train go down an alternate rail from the exit, Poppy then explains how she has "had so much time to think and reflect" whilst trapped inside the case, and how she wants to "set things right" as "terrible things have happened" and she knows The Player is capable of doing whatever she needs. Before Poppy can finish her monologue, she is caught off guard by the sound of an alarm clock, only having enough time to exclaim her surprise before the audio cuts off. The Train then speeds up alarmingly before it eventually derails and crashes, with the sign for Playcare visible before The Player blacks out again.

Chapter 3: Deep Sleep The Player meets up with Poppy again in Playcare where she stops Kissy Missy from attacking them, reassuring her that they are not a threat. Poppy then explains the truth behind the whole ordeal, as she was imprisoned in the case by The Prototype for opposing him. She could not let them leave until they help her defeat 1006, who would have killed them for trying to escape.

When The Player enters the Safe Room, Poppy contacts them through a terminal and gives them a rundown of the location, with a tutorial of how to survive against CatNap. She discloses that placing batteries in a battery slot near the terminal will power up the outlet for the Green GrabPack Hand, allowing them to hold the monster back. Before leaving The Player to fend for themselves, she begs them not to die.

After CatNap is defeated, Poppy plays a tape to The Player that reveals the event known as The Hour of Joy, where it shows what happened to the company's staff 10 years ago. As the duo leave Kissy behind to go down an elevator, they hear banging and screaming. A greatly distressed Poppy tries to move the platform back up, but the hatch closes before they can make it, stranding Poppy and The Player in the depths of the factory.

Chapter 4: Safe Haven After being separated from Kissy, The Player and Poppy are on the elevator. Poppy explains to The Player that she needs to leave them to help Kissy.

Poppy appears much later in the chapter to help The Player hide from The Prototype, having found Kissy badly-injured. They then lead The Player to the Safe Haven, where Doey the Doughman and other various smaller toys reside. She then asks for The Player to go to Doey. Once The Player has spoken to Doey, Poppy tells them her plan: to lay old mining charges at the foundation of the factory and fill it with the red smoke redirected from Playcare. She also reveals that the orphans are still alive, being held asleep in The Prototype's lair, and that they will liberate them before detonating the red smoke and demolishing the factory.

After defeating The Doctor, The Player returns to the Safe Haven, where they are reunited with Poppy and Doey. When The Prototype is said to be outside of the haven, Poppy says that she will try and gather the others in there.

Following the destruction of the Safe Haven and the death of Doey, The Player finds Poppy and Kissy in Shelf Ventilation Block B6. Poppy questions The Player on why they killed Doey and whether they even carried out the plan. She unsuccessfully tries to contact Ollie. Ollie instead contacts her and in the course of the conversation reveals that he is The Prototype. Poppy defiantly tells him that Huggy, Mommy, CatNap and The Doctor are dead, that he has nothing and that soon he will have even less, with the execution of her plan. The Prototype tells her to "stop that", telling her that she does not need to pretend to be stronger than she is and imploring her to "come home". Poppy questions The Prototype on how much he knows about the plan, throwing the phone down in despair when The Prototype replies "everything". Poppy asks whether there ever was an Ollie, to which The Prototype tells her that there was, but it was a very long time ago. As he surrounds their location, The Prototype tells her what is going to happen next: he has something special in mind for Poppy: he is going to find Poppy and take her to a place that she will not ever want to leave. He also threatens to deal with what is left of her collaborators. Poppy panics, stating that she can't go back in the case and fleeing, abandoning The Player and Kissy Missy. She runs through a ventilation system in fear before falling into a room and finding herself with Lily.[9]

Chapter 5: Broken Things Poppy is found being held prisoner by Lily Lovebraids along with Kissy after attempting to cross Sweet Street. The Player releases them, but all three are recaptured and forced into Lily's tea party, which the Prototype attends.

Poppy confronts the Prototype about the fate of the orphans, to which the Prototype responds that "They're in a better place now." Poppy, horrified, calls the Prototype a monster, to which the Prototype states that he kept them safe until Poppy brought in the Player, and that Poppy acts like a child because that's what the scientists made her. He then picks Poppy up by her head and, ignoring her cries of pain, applies enough pressure to shatter the porcelain of her head, before dropping her on the table.

When Lily attempts to seize the fallen Poppy with her hair, the Prototype strikes her, ordering that she not touch Poppy. This causes Lily to release Kissy, who immediately strikes the Prototype's Red Smoke emitter, releasing enough gas to act as a smokescreen, allowing the now-released Player to hide under the table and for Kissy to flee with Poppy.

Poppy and Kissy hide in the Reanimation section of the Labs, where they reunite with Giblet and the Player. She shakily asks how bad the damage is, and Giblet comforts her, before stating that their plan is the same as before. They then make their way to the tram as the Player makes their way through the lab.

When the group reunites at the tram, they wait for a moment as Kissy is reunited with Huggy Wuggy, before both are killed by the Prototype. Giblet, Poppy, and the Player flee in the tram, but are forced to jump off as the Prototype pursues. The Prototype then takes Poppy away, while Giblet rescues the Player from a vat of poppy gel. The toy version of Poppy was extremely revolutionary for its time, predating pull-string dolls by several decades in our world by over a decade.

As an experiment, with her tiny stature, Poppy can navigate her way through the vents effortlessly to get around the factory. This allows her to follow The Player with relative ease and even get ahead of them. She also seems to have a knack for using machinery (or is at least familiar with their use), as she changed the direction of the train at the last second with ease and was able to easily activate a lift in Playcare.

Similarly to the Bigger Bodies experiments, Poppy contains some organic components as seen in the maintenance tape. The exact nature of these components is unknown. However, just like The Prototype, it is known that she does not require food or water to survive. This is known due to the fact that she survived in her case for years with zero sustenance before the return of The Player in 2005.)

(Kissy Missy: Kissy Missy was one of the two main deuteragonists of Poppy Playtime, alongside the character of the same name. She was a toy produced by Playtime Co. and created in 1985, one year after Huggy Wuggy's release.

In 1995, the experiment form of Kissy was recommended to a work position in Playcare. However, the day of her scheduled relocation was the day The Hour of Joy began, which she briefly participated in presumably out of anxiety and self-defense. Following the massacre, Kissy remained in the abandoned factory for years, briefly becoming acquainted with the Safe Haven's inhabitants before wandering the factory. In 2005, she crossed paths with The Player, eventually forming an alliance with them and Poppy Playtime to kill The Prototype and end his despotic reign.

Kissy along with Poppy were eventually captured by The Prototype and imprisoned by Lily Lovebraids where the two were rescued by The Player. The trio were able to escape The Prototype and Lily but were separated. The Player managed to lure Huggy Wuggy to Kissy who was able to calm him down, only for The Prototype to appear and presumably kill both Huggy and Kissy via impalement. Kissy Missy's appearance is very similar to Huggy Wuggy. Like Huggy, she is a tall, slender creature with thick wool, but she is pink instead of Huggy's signature blue. Her features, such as her blue bow, yellow hands and feet, and eyes are similar to Huggy's except for her eyelashes.

PROJECT: PLAYTIME Kissy Missy is also seen in the spin-off horror title PROJECT: PLAYTIME. Appearing as an unlockable skin for Huggy Wuggy, this version of Kissy Missy remains largely similar to her debut appearance. However, exceptions make her look like her better half of Huggy Wuggy - with a large maw featuring dozens of jagged, needle-like teeth. Her eyes also appear dilated, with pitch-white dot pupils.

Chapter 4: Safe Haven After suffering several wounds from a yet unidentified attacker at the end of Chapter 3, the right side of Kissy's face and body suffered severe injuries that resemble burns along with several deep slashes to her body with her right arm being kept in a makeshift sling. At the end of Chapter 4, Kissy loses her right arm after grabbing the Player in an attempt to save them from falling into a large pit.

Aside from the Bigger Bodies version, there are also miniature versions of Kissy Missy residing in the Safe Haven. They are all killed when the Safe Haven is destroyed. She looks nearly identical to her appearance in Chapter 4, but she is now missing her right arm. When the Prototype disfigures Poppy, she reveals to have sharp teeth just like Huggy. For Huggy Wuggy, his general premise is to hug children, with his name being a play on the word 'Hug'. Going on the same logic, Kissy Missy's purpose would be to kiss children, hence it can be safely assumed that her toy form's personality is loving and kind.

According to the Digital Collectible Campaign, she is a stickler for rules and does not hold back on reprimanding those who go against said policies.

Unlike the other toys, who are very hostile, she appears to be benevolent, sweet, and helpful towards The Player, even going so far as to assisting them in opening the gate door via the lever on the other side rather than killing them. In Chapter 3, she assisted them once more alongside Poppy Playtime, serving as the latter's form of transportation in order to stop the Prototype and end this once and for all.

However, during The Hour of Joy tape, she killed the train workers (with her arms alone) who were escorting her to Playcare, showing a much more ruthless, merciless and stronger side akin to Huggy Wuggy. It is worth noting that she returned to her original position soon afterwards, implying she did not fully participate in the rebellion; given that she is rarely aggressive, it is possible this was done in the spur of the moment due to anxiety, which Kissy regrets doing. Kissy also harbors bitter memories of Playcare and briefly displays her ruthless side once more, appearing again while exiting out of Home Sweet Home and tackling The Player with the intention to seemingly kill them, though sparing their life under the request of Poppy Playtime as she had mistaken them for a threat. Little is known about Kissy Missy, but through gathered information, it is revealed that she was made in 1985, one year after Huggy Wuggy was created. Huggy had skyrocketed in popularity, and so Playtime Co. seized the opportunity to create a feminine counterpart to further boost their profits.[7] (This was and still is a common trope in almost every industry to date. Should there be a boy/girl version of a toy, usually a variant of the same toy is released as the opposite gender.) Some time in the 1990s, Playtime Co. created an experiment form of Kissy Missy's as part of the Bigger Bodies Initiative. Eventually, Kissy, who was residing in the Storage B facility, was recommended for an unknown work position at Playcare. Her relocation to Playcare was scheduled to take place on August 8 1995. On her relocation day, Kissy was loaded on a cargo train headed to Playcare per the Bigger Bodies Contingency Plan. But on the way there, she was suddenly released from the straps as the train accelerated, and seconds later, The Hour of Joy took place. Influenced by the Prototype, or perhaps driven by stress and self-defense, Kissy Missy knocked down two workers handling her and later chased down another worker who ran away from her. At 11:14 AM, she returned to the same position she was originally, but covered in blood and surrounded by corpses.[8]

After The Hour of Joy, with the factory now abandoned, Kissy Missy stuck with Poppy, Doey the Doughman and their allies for a while.[9] She would be present in 2005 when The Player returned to look for their missing co-workers. Kissy Missy makes a brief appearance in Chapter 2: Fly in a Web, where she simply assists The Player before walking back into the darkness. She appears after attempting to enter the Cart Corridors. The door on the other side of the gate rises, revealing her silhouette, and she walks toward the gate in a similar manner to Huggy Wuggy (which might make players mistake her for her better half). When she reaches the gate, she notices The Player on the other side. Kissy tilts her head and stares at them for a moment before deciding what to do next. She then pulls down on the lever nearby, but her hand slips off of it, so she tries a second time, and she successfully pulls the lever. As the gate slowly rises, Kissy turns around, looking at The Player once again, and walks away, back into the darkness. Kissy Missy makes her first appearance in Home Sweet Home, looking at a picture of a girl. After leaving Home Sweet Home, The Player is suddenly tackled by Kissy due to Playcare tampering with her emotions, before Poppy Playtime talks her down. She assists Poppy with reaching a panel to call down a lift, and shortly after she and Poppy leave on the lift, Kissy can be seen waving to The Player. Afterwards, Kissy teams up with Poppy and The Player to take down CatNap and 1006. At the end of the chapter, Poppy tells Kissy to send them down on a lift to the prison, but then they hear commotion and her shrieking on the way down, as she is being attacked by an unknown entity. The Player and Poppy desperately attempt to raise the lift again to help Kissy before the hatch closes, but ultimately fail. While making their way through Caves 1C, The Player briefly hears Kissy screaming. She makes her first physical appearance in the chapter right before entering the Safe Haven, hiding The Player from The Prototype. For the rest of the game she can be found resting from the injuries inflicted to her at the end of Chapter 3. At the end of the game, she can be found inside of Shelf Ventilation Block B6 accompanying Poppy Playtime while trying to contact Ollie, who is revealed to be The Prototype in disguise, later creating a hole in the room via explosives. The Player falls into the caves below but is saved momentarily by Kissy, losing her right arm while trying to get them out. After losing her arm, Kissy tries to look for Poppy on her own, but was captured by Lily Lovebraids. She is then thrown into a cell alongside Poppy to wait for the arrival of The Prototype. When The Player finally finds the two under Lily's mansion, they are freed and the trio attempt to escape the mansion. However, Lily catches The Player and forces them to play a game. However, they find a secret exit where Kissy and Poppy are waiting. But as they try to escape, Lily captures them again and ties them up in the dining hall. Once The Prototype arrives and scolds Poppy for bringing the Intruder into the factory, he crushes Poppy's head in anger, which angers Kissy. When Lily tries to pick up Poppy's unconscious body, his claws slice open Kissy's ties allowing Kissy to rip into The Prototype, causing a massive amount of red smoke to leak out of his body. In the aftermath of the skirmish, Kissy takes Poppy's body and runs out of the mansion and finds Giblet. Once the group reunites, they make for the train in an attempt to escape but are confronted by Huggy Wuggy. Sensing his hostility, Kissy attempts to calm him down. When it appears that Huggy Wuggy is finally docile, The Prototype sneaks up from behind and stabs Huggy in the back. A provoked Kissy tries to stab back, but is impaled by the Prototype.))

((The Prototype: The Prototype is the main antagonist of Poppy Playtime. He was first mentioned in the Chapter 1 Official Trailer before appearing in Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze as the topic of a VHS tape, conjecturally known as the "Final Log." He made his first physical appearance in Chapter 2: Fly in a Web. He is also featured in Chapter 3: Deep Sleep and Chapter 4: Safe Haven. He appears in Chapter 5: Broken Things as its main antagonist. The voice that directs Huggy Wuggy in PROJECT: PLAYTIME is thought to be that of The Prototype.

Cunning, intelligent, and violent, The Prototype was Playtime Co.'s 1,006th experiment under the designation of Experiment 1006 "The Prototype", or simply Experiment 1006. Dr. Harley Sawyer believed that there was an invaluable secret within him, and he was determined to uncover it. The Prototype was the orchestrator of The Hour of Joy. This event happened at the Playtime Co. toy factory in 1995, causing the death of countless employees and visitors at the hands of many of the company's experiments. Afterwards, The Prototype used his old identity, Oliver Ludwig, to keep tabs on his enemies and deceive Poppy Playtime. He wished to confine her once again within her case after she was released by The Player. He also teamed up with a wary Sawyer to uncover a secret. It’s speculated to be the same secret that Sawyer himself was trying to uncover through The Prototype. The Prototype is a towering mechanical-organic entity with a cracked porcelain jester face fixed in a wide, unnatural grin of square teeth. One eye socket is dark and hollow, while the other contains a small glowing orange mechanical pupil. He wears a worn, three-pronged jester hat with bell tips, along with a tattered blue coat and red bow. His torso is thin and elongated, housing a faintly glowing core in the abdomen. Long skeletal arms hang at his sides, ending in sharp articulated claws. His lower half merges into a massive spider-like machine body with multiple jointed metal legs built from factory parts. He also has three attached arms that are retractable in the abdomen of the spider-like machine body; one of Mommy Long Legs, one of Kissy Missy, and the other Huggy Wuggy. He has a large purple fur hide in his lower back as well as red gas canisters and the emitter from CatNap, all of which he most likely salvaged the spare parts of dead toys. His body is very similar to Doey's aggressive form, such as the 3 arms protruding from the front and a long torso with 6 legs.

It was previously thought that, prior to The Hour of Joy, The Prototype was roughly the same shape and morphology as the person used to make him. It was not until Experiment 1160 that experiments were no longer bound to those rules regarding their shapes and sizes.[13][14] However, by the time the Player returns to the factory, it seems that 1006 may have grown in size. The Prototype presumably modified his current body from the spare parts of dead toys. As a result, he is not of human-scale, and is in fact enormous in proportion to the Player. The exact manner of how his form was constructed has not yet fully been revealed. Personality Intelligent, cunning, and crafty, the Prototype is loved and respected by those loyal to him, while being simultaneously hated and feared by all others. Though little is currently known about the original experiment, his presence has been constant in the Player’s journey. More will surely be revealed in due time. The Prototype exhibits a personality solely built upon his hatred and wishes for the downfall of Playtime Co. He is cunning and stubborn. In a conversation with Harley Sawyer during Log 24459, The Prototype's voice was heard for the first time. He mockingly replayed the voices of various employees. He engages in a monologue about his motivations, questioning Harley Sawyer's thoughts on the effects of the Bigger Bodies Initiative and the mistreatment of experiments. After Sawyer retorts and comments on learning something new about The Prototype at each meeting, he sarcastically thanks Harley and repeats his words back at him in Harley's own voice.

The Prototype was known to be unprecedentedly smart and intelligent, as shown in Log 08502. He devised a plan to escape his confinement by using a laser pointer device, fashioned from his alarm clock parts and other components. He fired it at the security camera in his room, disabling it for almost 30 seconds. Then he hid in a blind spot to make it look like he disappeared. He aimed to get through the cell door once an employee went in to confirm his whereabouts. This failed when another employee locked the door from outside. However, with the other employee being locked inside with him, The Prototype then attacked and killed them in that moment. This shows that he is unrelentingly violent at times.

The Prototype is manipulative and deceitful. For example, he told Theodore Grambell how to get a GrabPack 2.0, despite knowing how young and inexperienced the boy was. Another instance was coming up with a fake persona based on a child who lived in Home Sweet Home—Ollie—in order to fool both Poppy and The Player. He lured them both into a false sense of security. He used the persona to have The Player rig Safe Haven's generator to blow itself up[15] and to get Doey the Doughman to turn on them.

He is also known to be highly charismatic, as he influenced many of the other experiments into taking part in The Hour of Joy.

It has been shown that The Prototype takes the bodies of other experiments to make them part of him.

There is only one known instance where he seemed to genuinely care for another being, the aforementioned Theodore Grambell. After Theodore was electrocuted, The Prototype gave up his chance at freedom to save the boy. He brought Theodore to Thomas Clarke for medical aid, without any possible benefit to himself, and long before Theodore could have been converted into CatNap. CatNap would then follow the Prototype around whenever he was present, despite The Prototype largely ignoring him.[16] In the events of Chapter 3, the Prototype as "Ollie" praises CatNap's strength while emphasizing his threat level, and his killing of CatNap is implied to be partially a swift mercy kill instead of malicious betrayal.

The end of Chapter 4 finally gives more insights into his character and motivations. He is obsessed with Poppy and desires to get her to join him. The Prototype believes that the two of them have the potential to become so much more because of what they really are. He had put her in the case until she saw things his way. Now he desires to take her and put her somewhere she will never want to leave.

The Prototype also carries a sense of gratitude, or "fairness", albeit heavily twisted. CatNap's genuine loyalty was rewarded with control over Playcare and a lot of free reign over the toys within, something CatNap would sadistically exploit when building his cult. The Prototype states he remembers that Preston Willard, one of the scientists involved in the Bigger Bodies Initiative, was kind to him, specifically, and therefore spares his life. Instead of killing him, he has Preston converted into a toy, apparently considering the horrific new state a form of reward.

The Prototype is surprisingly somewhat protective of Poppy to a degree as even after disfiguring her (despite proving a valid argument), he stopped Lily Lovebraids from touching her. He also flinched at the sight of cracking Poppy's head and dropping her, causing him to look at his own hand in shock, instantly regretting hurting Poppy and not listening to her, showing he didn't want to kill her and fled in terror after provoking Kissy's anger and adding another layer of boundaries he's not allowed to cross. This means that, despite his obsession and cruelty for her, he still cares for her despite the trouble that he caused, and even outright truthfully admitted that he holds himself responsible for imprisoning her in the case and it's all his fault, showing a more albeit twisted side of sympathy for Poppy, and although not confirmed yet, it it reasonably plausible that The Prototype just wants to bring her back home so he can reunite the Ludwig family in order to fully clear Elliot's name and bring peace to everyone that suffered from Playtime Co.'s atrocities (and by saying he put the Orphans in a "Better Place" (which is his words for mercy-killing them), he secretly and vaguely but strongly implied that he himself also wants to permanently end the Bigger Bodies Initiative for good and hold the originators responsible for all the mass suffering (though this has yet to be confirmed).

The Prototype's behavior towards the Player is odd, as he watches over them from the shadows and even helps them out, even if it was a trick in the end. When Prototype finally meets the Player face-to-face, he refers to them as an outsider as if the Player was never supposed to be here at all; although he does threaten to turn them into a Wrongside Outimal, while still respecting them for their strength and bravery, being fully aware that they made it this far to find their missing colleagues and to help end Playtime Co.'s atrocities. Instead of leaving them to die after the train crashed after being defeated for the first time, he tries to kill the Player by taking them to a vat of Poppy Gel to drown them before kidnapping Poppy, only for Giblet to rescue them Little is known about Experiment 1006 other than the fact that he was originally Oliver Ludwig, son of Elliot Ludwig, and recognized as the "prime example for the type of vessel which [Playtime Co.] were trying to create".[17] This experiment was created using organic and mechanical parts, sometime before or during 1989[1] prior to the Bigger Bodies Initiative, presumably being the first and only successful subject of an unnamed scientific field referenced in the Chapter 4 Icepick ARG[18]. 1006 was also stated to be an outlier with their other experiments, as he did not require any sustenance or food for survival.[17] These findings, among others, led to many employees, primarily Harley Sawyer, who was later hired by Playtime Co., to take a noticeable interest in the creature. Sawyer and his science team took to calling him "The Prototype".[19] And while some science staff feared The Prototype and wanted him to be destroyed, Sawyer never allowed it. It was stated that The Prototype showed a new trait of himself during every session, being an interesting figure to examine. Scientists said he was very clever and possessed high levels of intelligence.[20] In 1989,[1] The Prototype escaped confinement and hid inside Playcare, recruiting a troubled orphan named Theodore Grambell to his cause. He frequently encouraged the young boy to sabotage Playtime Co., but to no avail. Their friendship became notorious among the staff, who at first believed that the boy's "friend" was imaginary.

One day, Theodore received instructions from 1006 to open a maintenance door in Playcare using two stolen GrabPack 2.0s and Green Hands so they could both open a gate in the schoolhouse of Playcare and escape. But due to his young age and lack of expertise, Theodore overcharged the Green Hand, electrocuting himself and requiring immediate medical attention. Though successful in opening the door, The Prototype chose to sacrifice his freedom to save Theodore. He brought the wounded boy to Thomas Clarke's office, the latter spotting him, before he was recaptured by Security.

Around a year later, 1006 reunited with Theodore Grambell, who had now become CatNap. During their time together, CatNap followed The Prototype around "like a lost puppy", as stated by Leith Pierre, with 1006 seemingly ignoring him. In one session around 1990, specifically during the recording of Log 08502, Scientist #4 recounted an incident relating to The Prototype. It is stated that 1006 was primarily kept in his chamber, being monitored at all times. However, during the current week, he created a laser pointer from the digital alarm clock in his room, fired it at the camera and disabled it for 28.3 seconds, upon which he hid in a blind spot, forcing a surveillance specialist to come in. He tried to escape through the door but it was re-locked before he could. He apparently killed the specialist who was trapped inside, as 'one casualty occurred.'

In another session, specifically during the recording of Log 24459, The Prototype conversed with Harley Sawyer, questioning if Sawyer felt any remorse for the experiments, asking why they "stick... beat... [and] tear at [their] flesh." Harley Sawyer cleverly retorted, challenging The Prototype and pointing out how he continuously uncovered new aspects about him in each session. The Prototype thanked Harley before mocking him once more, remarking how he too learns something from Sawyer every day in Sawyer's own voice. In an unspecified time during either late 1994 or 1995 (probably the former), The Prototype was declared missing from The Labs,[21] where he was contained. Interestingly, he continued to reside in The Labs even following construction of the Prison, possibly so the scientists could study him whenever they pleased.[22] But during this time of freedom, he was never located. Sometime later on August 8, 1995, with the help of some of the Playtime Co. staff, including Preston Willard, 1006 took over the Playtime Co. factory. This event, known as "the Hour of Joy," involved a large-scale massacre and jailbreak against all humans present in the factory. While a group of employees were focused on transporting Kissy Missy to Playcare, the Bigger Bodies began a rebellion as they mindlessly slaughtered all adults and scientists while under the influence of The Prototype. Afterwards, he took all the Playcare orphans down below into the Labs where they would remain alive and sleeping. He had promised all the experiments that they could finally be free. However...

After the event concluded, The Prototype revealed to all the toys that they couldn't leave as it was too risky. There was a high chance of the experimentation happening all over again from outside scientists if their existence was discovered. So, the bodies were dragged into the depths of the factory and the toys ultimately fed on them to survive. This, and all of the actions and mindless slaughter, shocked Poppy, and she hated him for this, but still willingly agreed with The Prototype regarding the riskiness of leaving the factory.[23] Regardless, The Prototype would later lock Poppy in her case. Ten days after the Hour of Joy, The Prototype would come across Preston Willard and Jessica Newman, whom he turned into an experiment and killed, respectively.[24] Sometime after, The Prototype met with Harley Sawyer, who he deliberately spared during the event. He told the Doctor that his suggestions had so far failed, and questioned whether or not it was a good idea to spare him. Sawyer replied that more time was needed, but The Prototype stated that they did not have any time. Sawyer suggested he found some more or gave him lab access, yet The Prototype denied his request, telling him to “stay put”. Sawyer said that what he was trying to accomplish could not be done quickly, leading The Prototype to ask him what his use was in that case. Sawyer replied that he was The Prototype’s “best shot”, which satisfied 1006. He told The Doctor that he would try again, but warned him that if he was ”stalling... or worse”, he should remember that his usefulness was the only reason he wasn’t “stripped for meat and spare parts”.[25]

During 2005, following Doey the Doughman and his allies' relocation to the Safe Haven, The Prototype continuously tried to enter their hideout and kept finding ways past their defenses - much to the toys' horror.[26] This would come to a climax later that year. The Prototype doesn't physically appear in this chapter, but he is the topic of a VHS tape and one of his claw markings can be seen in the Power Room. Additionally, he is also mentioned by his experiment number in some of the death screens.

Chapter 2: Fly in a Web After Mommy Long Legs is killed by the grinder and her severed torso falls to the ground, The Prototype's claw appears from under the half-closed door to the left. He reaches out and takes Mommy's torso away, dragging it away back under the door.

Chapter 3: Deep Sleep Using a child's identity, The Prototype makes contact with The Player through a telephone, presenting himself as someone named 'Ollie'. He guides them to Playcare and gives them instructions throughout the chapter. Later, Poppy explains that she intentionally stopped The Player from leaving since she needs them to help destroy The Prototype, and that if they tried to escape, The Prototype would kill them before they could. Poppy also explains that he was the one who locked her in her case. Later, when sneaking through the Caverns, The Player spots CatNap worshiping a shrine built for The Prototype. In the Playhouse, DogDay further elaborates on CatNap's reverence of The Prototype.

CatNap sees The Prototype as his god and believes any who opposes him are heretics, with DogDay being imprisoned due to him trying to fight against The Prototype and his control. Exiting the Playhouse, Ollie corresponds DogDay's story, saying that before the experiment form of CatNap was created, The Prototype saved his life. This led to CatNap seeing The Prototype as the savior for all the toys in Playtime Co..

As The Player sneaks through the Counselor's Office, CatNap attacks them and sends them into another dream. Just before the dream ends, The Prototype's hand reaches through the open roof of the Lobby. At the end of the boss-fight against CatNap and his electrocution, The Prototype's arm appears, seemingly to offer aid to the still-burning CatNap. CatNap submits to The Prototype again, and watches without flinching as The Prototype slowly lines up his claws before impaling the dying CatNap through the mouth and dragging him away. When The Player returns to the Gas Production Zone, Poppy explains that it was The Prototype that orchestrated The Hour of Joy, ultimately making him responsible for the slaughter of hundreds. In that time, she could hear the screams of the slaughtered around her and so chose to formulate a plan to destroy The Prototype with The Player's help. As they descend on the elevator, Kissy Missy is attacked, and the seal above the lift closes down on them. The Prototype does physically appear in this chapter. However, only the silhouette of his legs are briefly shown, and his presence is felt heavily through Harley Sawyer. Using Ollie's voice, The Prototype continues to talk to The Player, who eventually reaches a point near Safe Haven. Upon arriving, Poppy and Kissy grab them to hide them from The Prototype roaming the halls, looking for The Player. Soon after, when the trio reach Safe Haven, Poppy reveals to Doey that The Prototype has followed them into the lower level, much to Doey's annoyance. Soon after, Poppy divulges her plan to destroy The Prototype and all of Playtime Co., through exploding the whole factory with explosives. The Prototype, however, figures out this plan and manages to suppress it by using Ollie's voice to manipulate The Player into rigging Safe Haven's generator[27] and to lure Doey away from the area. The generator sabotage later causes Safe Haven to blow up, killing all of Doey's friends and causing him to lose his mind, which would also contribute to his demise at the hands of The Player.

Poppy, Kissy and The Player regroup later. As Poppy attempts to contact Ollie after scolding The Player for killing Doey, The Prototype discards the "Ollie" facade and mocks Poppy's attempts to stop him. The Prototype explains his plan in cryptic words. He sends Poppy into a panic by threatening to lock her away again. He uses the explosives from the Foundation to blow up the ground underneath The Player and Kissy, which leads to their separation. Kissy loses her arm in the process. The Player falls down to The Labs where an injured and furious Huggy Wuggy awaits to get revenge. The Prototype began searching for the player at this point. While traveling through the underground, he killed one of the inhabitants as Giblet and the Player hid from him. He later comes across Chum, who has hidden the Player inside his stomach, and orders him to fix the security system and find Poppy, warning him of the consequences if he messes up. He later arrives at Lily's house to attend her tea party along with the captive Player, Poppy, and Kissy. As punishment for their rebellion, the Prototype disfigures Poppy and knocks Lily away when she tries to further torture Poppy, but this allows Kissy to break free and attack the Prototype, who quickly flees. He later arrives and stabs both Huggy and Kissy and pursues the Player, Poppy, and Giblet on a moving train. The three crash the train in an attempt to kill him, but he survives, wounds the player before throwing them into a vat of Poppy gel, and takes Poppy away. Although The Prototype is organic in nature, possessing a digestive tract as well as human bones and a human torso, he has more biomechanical aspects than organic ones.[28] His digestive tract, though fully functional, has no impact on his body's ability to maintain his survival, as he does not require sustenance.[29] This ability essentially makes him immune to starvation, something the other experiments lack and are susceptible against. His arms and hands, seemingly constructed from a slender but durable metal, are strong and sharp enough to puncture through flesh and bone, as seen in CatNap's brutal sacrifice and Jessica Newman’s death in RESTRICTED_salvation, and break glass, as seen in the Chapter 5 Official Game Trailer.

The Prototype is the most intelligent experiment currently known, having devised three separate escape attempts to get out of confinement and/or the factory. (Two of which were nearly successful). Two of his skills, as noted by Scientist #4, were enhanced by his intelligence: coordination and cooperation, both of which are seen in The Hour of Joy. During the planning stage of this rebellion, he enlisted nearly every experiment to his side by promising to grant them what they wanted most: freedom.[30] When August 8, 1995 came around, he ensured that the experiments were all in a position to attack simultaneously at 11:00 AM, a time when security was (presumably) at its weakest and would be slow to mobilize their security teams (He likely deduced this through observation and collected knowledge of the factory).

Additionally, The Prototype is the first experiment who actively interacted with and utilized Playtime Co.'s technology. In Log 08502, a recording of one of his escape attempts, he constructed a laser pointer from a disassembled digital alarm clock, displaying a profound understanding of mechanical engineering. Additionally, he was presumed to have remotely altered at least two VHS tapes at the time of their recording, conveying his messages/instructions to anyone who saw them (This method may explain how he informed his followers about his planned rebellion without Playtime Co. catching wind).

Both his actions and the dialogue of experiments reveal that 1006 likely collects dead toys and/or the pieces of dead toys and grafts them onto himself. Something else noteworthy is that he would often leave trails of tar as he walked around. Additionally, he also possesses the ability to mimic others, often hiding his real voice behind multiple others. During his conversation with Harley Sawyer, multiple voices are heard when he speaks; however, it's unclear if his presumed grafting habits are the cause or if it's a separate ability of its own (although it might be the latter).

It was revealed in the RESTRICTED_salvation tape that The Prototype had also begun taking bits and pieces of different toys to create hybrid forms similar to himself to experiment on; one such form, combined of pieces from a Boogie Bot, Bron, Bunzo Bunny & Cat-Bee was used to transfer the brain and eyes of scientist Preston Willard into. In addition, The Prototype views being selected for one of his hybrid experiments to be an honor reserved for only those who were nice to him.)) ]]
