World in Dark AU

List of Smash Characters in the AU Kirby: Patient Zero (Phase 4?). Kirby is the start of all of this infection and the first case of this lethal killing. The pink hero is lacking eyes in his sockets and is blind, with his colors dulled. He does not speak, and will eat anything he sees with how far in he is infected. His mouth is stretched into a gaping hole, and small tentacles escape the corners of his mouth. It's possible he is a Phase 4 but it is unknown. Current location: Self-contained to Dreamland. (For the time being) Meta Knight: Unknown. Whereabouts: Supposedly in Dreamland. Unknown if he is dead, alive or infected. King Dedede: Unknown. Whereabouts: Last seen with Meta Knight. Yoshi: Dead. Whereabouts: Last seen with Luigi. Luigi: Dead. While exploring the Mushroom Kingdom forests, he and Yoshi encountered an infected Mr. Game and Watch, who killed them. Mario: Dead. Mario was the first person to die to Kirby when he approached Kirby to check on him, Kirby at the time was in Stage 2, where symptoms are minor but off putting. Kirby transitioned into Stage 3 as Mario approached, and ate him. Dr. Mario: (Universe: Mushroom Kingdom) Alive. He is currently trying to cure the infection. He had weird dreams of the infected Kirby upon Mario's death, and that made him curious. He traveled to Dreamland, and overheard Ness, talking to a few other survivors, about how Mario died, and that got Dr. Mario on edge, because he might be next. Whereabouts: His lab where he is experimenting in potential cures, he is currently unsuccessful, but he can slow it down at best. Resides in his lab. Olimar: (Pikmin Universe) Dead by infection (Phase 3). Olimar was infected, and R.O.B, Dr. Mario's assistant, took him to Dr. Mario. Olimar was in Phase 2 at the time, and he was very compliant with letting them test on him, even taking the pills Dr. Mario made, which did slow it down, but not by much. He unfortunately had to be put down as he entered Phase 3. As it turns out, he progressed so fast because his Pikmin, which were fully infected, were eating him alive. Meaning the pills may be more effective than Dr. Mario initially thought. R.O.B.: Alive. Resides in Dr. Mario's lab. Being a robot, R.O.B cannot be infected. He assists Dr. Mario in capturing infected to test them. Mewtwo: (Pokémon Universe) Alive. Resides in Dr. Mario's lab. It is unknown as to whether or not he is infected at the moment. Mii Swordfighter: Alive. Resides in Dr. Mario's lab with Dr. Mario, R.O.B, and Mewtwo. He is not infected. Banjo and Kazooie: Alive. Freelancing and surviving in the current situation. Very useful and a versatile duo, hence why they've survived for so long. Snake: Dead. Snake was being chased by an infected before jumping into the water nearby. He unknowingly jumped into water where Inkling Girl, a unknown Phase, but infected, was in. He was supposedly eaten alive. Megaman: Unknown. He is immune to the infection, being a humanoid robot, but his status is... weird. He cannot be infected, but records show him lacking an eye and with a cracked helmet. It is possible that the infection has taken over his systems from the inside, but it is unknown. Pit: Alive. He is currently on a mission to find the contestants and Megaman in particular to bring to the World of Light to fight the infection, given to him by Palutena... Palutena, however, is the first KNOWN Phase 4. Palutena: Infected (Phase 4). Palutena, being a God, is extremely resistant to the infection, but she is very slowly losing control, she has already lost her eyes, so she keeps them closed when around Pit in a smile so he doesn't suspect anything. She feels deeply, deeply regretful for sending Pit to the infected Super Smash Bros. World , knowing how he will likely be infected or killed, but she has to. Inkling Girl: Infected (Phase 3 or 4) Inkling Girl is a skeleton minus her squid features, and is giant. She is responsible for killing Snake through an unknown method. She can't speak, she is a skeleton, and is stuck in water, unable to survive without being in it. Piranha Plant: Infected (Phase 4?) it is the Piranha Plant from Mario Bros., only that it is black with orange spikes, and is extremely powerful and aggressive. Pokémon Trainer: (Universe: Pokémon) Infected (Phase 3). Pokémon Trainer and his three Pokémon, Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle, are all infected. His Pokémon fused into an amalgamation and are an extremely lethal group to face. Rosalina and Luma: Infected(?). It's very possible she is not infected, but there's info that shows either her or her Lumas may be infected. Richter: Dead. He died in an unknown method, likely to Piranha Plant, but his other companion, Simon, is OK, from what we believe All other characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, are all currently unknown in both status and location unless otherwise listed. Ness: (Universe: Earthbound) Alive. Leads the four survivors. Cappy, Mario's companion, took the form of Ness' sideways hat upon Mario's death, and is his companion. Ness' abilities are his PK Fire, his PK Flash, his PK Thunder, his Reflect, and if they somehow break a Smash Ball. PK Starstorm. Resides in Villager's universe. Villager: (Universe: Animal Crossing) Alive. He helped amputate Marth's forearm when it was infected. He's unaware to the situation, as his universe is very peaceful, he doesn't quite understand what they're dealing with, and is a huge reason why the others are still sane from all of this. Resides in his universe. Sheik: (Universe: Legend of Zelda) Alive. She's on edge about the whole thing, likely because she's concerned about Hyrule and Link in particular, but she won't say. Resides in Villager's universe. Marth: (Universe: Fire Emblem) Alive. Marth fought the infected Kirby early on, and took some hits due to his melee fighting style with his sword. His left forearm was infected, but Villager amputated it before it could spread, meaning Marth was unaffected by the infection, or so the others have been led to think. Marth is infected, and he knows it, but doesn't tell anyone because he wants company. Due to the absurdly small amount of it in his body, however, he's progressing to Phase 2, the first signs of infection, EXTREMELY SLOW. He'll likely take weeks to show any sign of symptoms from his current state. --NOTE: PORTALS TO EACH UNIVERSE ARE SMALL BALLS, AND THE ONE TO DREAMLAND IS IN CONTAINMENT. THE OTHERS ARE SCATTERED ACROSS THE WORLD OF LIGHT.-- **Added Fact: Once the infection began making its presence known, characters began to bleed, and if they die, THEY DIE. No respawn, they're mortal. Few characters in the Smash Bros roster get the concept of blood, so it's very foreign to the other characters. --Phases of infection-- Phase 1- Subject looks and acts unaffected as the infection is weak. No difference in behavior or habits or appearance. Phase 2- Colors and eyes of infected dull and small holes appear on the spot of the infections first breach. Acts mostly normal, even if what's going on inside them is starting to show. Phase 3- Infected loses their eyes and become blind they now smile creepily with a slack jaw. If approached they will attack, as they are hungry and aggressive. Tentacles appear on the body of infected. Phase 4?- This stage is entirely theorized by Ness, a potential stage past Phase 3. But unbeknownst to Ness, he's spot on. Palutena is in Phase 4, though Ness is unaware. Inkling Girl and Piranha Plant are also potential candidates for Phase 4, but once again, Ness does not know of their existence
