Yuna is a character that appears in the movie Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale. She is considered an idol in the world of Ordinal Scale, thanks to her design and beautiful voice. If a player encounters her in the game they can acquire special upgrades.

Initially, Yuna is an outgoing and kind girl, uninterested in what was going on in the beginning. However, she shows sympathy for the survivors of the SAO incident, appearing before them after defeating the boss monsters that appeared in the city.

Furthermore, she shows her concern for Eiji, the top ranked player, and later for Kirito, to whom she confides information about the secret of Ordinal Scale.

When Yuuna Shigemura was a child, her father planned to give her the NerveGear as a gift so that she can experience the world's first VRMMORPG, Sword Art Online.

Some time later, Yuuna was a victim of the game of death, heartbreaking her father. This caused him to become obsessed with the idea of getting her back, conducting research and experiments. Finally, he managed to develop the first ARMMORPG, Ordinal Scale, so he managed to create Yuna, an AI inspired by her daughter and with the help of the ARMMORPG Ordinal scale, he tried to bring all the memories of her daughter to the AI Yuna. .

ARMMORPGs are multiplayer augmented reality video games capable of supporting hundreds, or even thousands of players simultaneously in real time. You need an artifact or device like the Augma to be able to play these types of games.

Unlike VRMMORPGs, ARMMOs do not involve full immersion, allowing players to be aware of the real world.

Augma is a portable device similar to a simple pair of headphones, being in terms of size and portability far superior to the Amusphere. Augma has full immersion function, since in Yuna's words it is a NerveGear with limited capabilities. This function is used only once in Ordinal Scale but with the help of Yuna who releases the full immersion mode and it is not known if it can be done otherwise. It also has enormous augmented reality (AR) capabilities. It can transmit visual, auditory and tactile sensations to gamers while they are awake, so its users can carry out activities of daily life as if they were inside a video game.

One of the ARMMORPGs that uses this technology is Ordinal Scale.

Over the course of the movie Ordinal Scale, Yuna has performed a total of five songs:
