Jaden Yuki

Jaden Yuki is a laid-back, optimistic, headstrong, energetic, and fun loving young man with a heavy passion and natural talent for dueling. He attends Duel Academy and ended up in the Slifer Red dorm due to his low entrance exam grades, but despite the humble beginnings has ended up as the best duelist in the academy. His usual outfit consists of the Slifer Red dorm uniform, unbuttoned with a black shirt underneath, and a pair of white pants. He speaks in an extremely casual manner, using stereotypical 90s style slang, though he uses sweet the most out of all of them. He commonly uses nicknames with others, and rarely giving authority figures the respect they may feel they deserve. In a duel, he always shows his opponent respect and has a tendency to compliment them for the plays they make. When it comes to anything other than dueling however, Jaden tends to not give it any attention or interest, including general basic academic learning. This leads to Jaden not being very smart, despite the intelligence he can display when it comes to matters he does have interest in. He also has a poor perception of others' feelings and attitudes toward him, for example, his conviction that he's good friends with Chazz Princeton despite how much he blatantly dislikes Jaden. He has a tendency to make jokes or puns, even in circumstances where they would be inappropriate or rude. He has a strong bond with his cards to the point where he'll completely brush off insults to himself but immediately become angry once his cards are insulted. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and will run headfirst into danger to protect them. Jaden has a ridiculous amount of luck, generally able to draw into exactly the card he needs in a duel or, when picking something out of a random pool of options, getting exactly what he was hoping for through sheer fortune rather than by any supernatural influence. Jaden is a descendent of a being known as the Supreme King and this has given him the ability to see and communicate with the duel spirits that reside in his cards.
